Pretty decent buffet. The look and feel of the place is casual but nice. It's a buffet, so you expect the food options will be immense. Here, that it not the case. It is more of a Chinese buffet with American classics sprinkled in. You can go with chicken (fried or chinese cuisine), seafood (again fried or chinese, even sushi), there is also a salad and desert bar. Went around noon on a Sunday with a guy I was dating and a group of his friends after a long night of drinking up Drexel. Got some sweet & sour chicken with a handful of fries. Nothing I haven't really had before from a Chinese place. It hit the spot, though. I did want the sushi, but, was afraid to even touch it. I am not a buffet person , but I find this to be an excellent value and quite delicious , you can have all kinda of seafood , raw or cooked , sushi , duck and so many other dishes , pastries and desserts ! Generic buffet restaurant run by probably family own business. Food is ok. If you are looking for quantity, this is it. I had about two servings of variety food. Their salad selection is weak and could have more sushi varieties. Other than that lot of fried and creamy stuff that I can't really eat much. This buffet isn't so bad, I actually like it :) The food is consistent. Although the sushi bar isn't so 'woohoo', all of the other foods are fairly good for a buffet in South Philadelphia. After all, you can't really expect fantastic sushi from a joint of that nature (a buffet unless that's what they're known for.) It's the perfect spot for a typical lunch. Personally I really like this place,. it is a great deal. My husband and I take our 2 nephews there once a month and the bill comes to $55.00. They LOVE it and it's the only place they want to go. Ruby's is a bit stingy with their king crab legs and I understand why people can get greedy with them, when they do finally bring out a fresh batch of crab it's usually only a small batch and then there's a 10 minutes wait till the next batch comes out. LOL it's a science. Sushi is AWESOME and the soft serve ice cream is really good. It's definitly worth a try. read more

As someone who hate Chinese buffets alot, this place was better compared to other ones I've been too. I still hated it but it was slightly better. I feel like Chinese from a takeout place is leaps and bounds better than any buffet. This place kept the food more well stocked than other buffets I've seen. They also had alot of seafood and sushi options. I don't know how either of those were because I hate seafood but I can say that the raw clams looked absolutely miserable. The food here still tasted bad but it wasn't old and dry like most buffets. It was also very crowded on a Sunday night. It was also a little more expensive than other buffets I've been to. A buffet and soda was about 16 with tax. I probably won't be coming back here but I could see why people like going here I guess I dunno read more

Took my mother in law and husband here due to the all you can eat crabs. I can honestly say this is one of the nicer buffets that we have been to. The food was good and ranged from sushi to white rice and everything in between. The only issue was the crab legs. Due to being in high demand, they were not always available and usually had to wait in line or wait up to 20 minutes for them. They did not bring them out immediately. Other than that issue- everything else was good. My mother in law seemed to enjoy so that was a benefit. read more

They have a huge selection of stuff - from the anomalous and pointless American items like garlic Bread and Pizza to some really adequate sushi to the fatty and addictive "fried balls of different meats" selection. And every item is better than you should expect out of a buffet, though I didn't taste everything. It wasn't for a lack of trying though. The service wasn't really that great (the waitress was very prompt at refilling my water, but seemed disinterested or annoyed), but its a buffet - service is the last thing one worries about. There was variety. The food tasted fresh. If you like sushi it was good as well. A brother who frequents stated the use the same utensils or knives for everything without cleaning them off. So if you are vegetarian you might get fragments of meat if you don't like pork there is a chance you might get fragments of it in your food. They are very racist people. Waited to after i paid and left out the door with the receipt in my hand. To think i was stealing. I had an employee chase me down outside and after i showed her my receipt still kept telling me i didn't pay because they couldn't pull my receipt in the system. Chased me down in my car until another employee told her they do have It. I asked for an apology and she flagged me down. To know that i just spent my hard working money at a place they didn't believe me even when i had the proof that i paid. Basically told us she was getting a tip when we asked for a extra wet nap and when the tip wasn't big enough she let us know that if we ever came back she would make sure we were never get seated in her area. Food was good, Staff was not. We paid with a debit card before we could even leave cash on the table as a tip, a waitress looked at our receipt and started yelling at us for not tipping! We weren't even finished our meal! The food wasn't even hot and the waitress got mad because I asked to change my soda. I ordered a sprite but it tasted like seltzer water so I got a coke instead. When we got the check she said the tip isn't included.
