Got lost wondering around Philly yesterday. We decided to eat at the nearest place since we were lost and places are closing soon. We went into MariMari. I ordered the kimchi ramen and garlic scallop inari. All was delish!! The chashu can be softer and I'd like to have the other half of the egg if possible. The egg was delish...but only half was served. The water dispenser is clogged so it trickles and sucks when you're real thirsty for some water. Otherwise, food and service was fabulous! It's a great intro for those that are freaked out by raw seafood, as the majority are cooked options such as chicken katsu, calamari, beef bulbogi etc. I opted for the raw salmon +1, katsu and calamari. The rolls were formed well, rice seasoning good, all around a solid 3 roll combo for appx $14 including tax. The yuzuade was good for a "treat yourself" day, but I'm not usually one to spend on drinks. For $5 it was okay, but not something I'd get again. Everything on the menu looked excellent, especially the Inari. I'll be trying that next time. For now, I want to focus on what I got. Sweet potato, spicy tuna and Philly avocado rolls. All incredibly delicious! Philly avo was my top favorite and the sweet po came in second. The chicken, spicy crab, Tuna mayo, and garlic mushroom inari's are all $2.95. So you can get 3 for less than $10. My girl also loves the ramen here (yes, they have ramen, too). I tried it, and it really is solid for a place that isn't exclusively a ramen spot. They also have some solid sushi. I tried it and liked it too. The service isn't bad at all. If your going to place an order for pickup, it usually takes about 20 minutes to be ready. I'd recommend doing that. There's seating inside but not a lot. It's not the best ramen I've had, but it hits the spot for a warm meal on a cold day. The inaris, on the other hand, were absolutely amazing. They were packed with umami flavor, not too salty, and a great food for dining in or to-go. There wasn't a flavor that we tried so far that we didn't like (crab, salmon, etc.). DRINKS We tried three of the punches they offered: the yuzu ade, strawberry lemonade, and the pineapple punch. The yuzu ade was sweet, tart, and refreshing, and the purple color really caught our attention. The strawberry ade was a little too tart for our taste but a great drink if you love lemonade. The strawberry flavor was a little lacking. Finally, the pineapple punch was the star of the show. It was flavorful, not too sweet, and the pineapple flavor was a refreshing contrast to our hot meals. SERVICE The staff were kind and friendly. One of the lemonade pouches had a leak in it when we picked it up, and they were very gracious about the mess. AMBIANCE The store had a good amount of seating and was a great place to catch up with friends. We came around 5pm and were able to grab seats, though the place quickly filled up by 6:30pm. I saw their post on instagram and while I was walking around Midtown Village festival I decided to give it a try. This eatery is around the corner of 13 and chestnut. Very clean with the menu on display as well as in printed flyers. The staff and owner were very friendly and welcoming. Near the register you can see the inaris on display with the name of each kind. All of them looked very inviting and beautifully presented with the sauce dripping over. Each kind had a lot of fillings with flavorful sauce drizzled on top. Very delicious, the spicy kinds had a very nice kick but still bearable. The container for the takeout had clear sturdy plastic to and was securely taped. Besides Inari, they also serve sushi rolls and ramen. You can create your own combo by choosing the rice (white, purple, or brown) and then the fillings. I ordered the spicy octopus inari, garlic shrimp inari, and salmon tataki inari, The shrimp was small but flavorful and garlicky. The salmon was thick cut but fatty. For the spicy octopus, I wouldn't get it again. The octopus was a little hard and spicier than I would have liked (reminds me of korean gochujang-red pepper paste).
