Wow! I can not believe this place! They did such a great job on my car! I had a bunch of rusty rain spots on my car from parking under the "L",when the snow was melting. I've been looking for a neighborhood carwash that would've been MY carwash for my new BMW X3. Just came from Ruby Hand Carwash and came out with a discernible nick and multiple small scratches on my windshield. I went right back in to talk to the owner, Jack, who (of course) denied that they were responsible for the damage, even though my car was in pristine condition when i drove in. He even argued that maybe the nick was already there and wasn't obvious because the windshiled wasn't clean before, upon which i told him that no amount of dirt would cover nicks on a windshield especially if your passenger is looking straight at it everyday. And btw, my car wasn't dirty. i just wanted to get it cleaned again one more time because it was a nice day today. Businesses like these have insurance for these type of liability. I'm not sure why any business would go out of their way not helping resolve something they are clearly responsible for. Wouldn't it be so much easier if you went ahead and do the right thing and take responsibility and fix this instead of having your customers feel robbed? Needless to say, I will be filing a formal complaint with the BBB and Ruby Hand Carwash, you just lost someone who would've been a loyal customer. Not trying to scare anyone away, but be aware that if this happens to you (and it will happen to someone else FOR SURE), this is what you have to look forward to with this car wash. read more

Didn't wash my car for more than a month and was filthy from summer rain. These guys knocked it out in 15 minutes looking super clean for a reasonable price. Water and wax spots were left on my car and there were small puddles of the dashboard shine they use left over. But good enough. read more

By all means hit this car wash up if you don't mind some of your things going missing, both inside and outside your car. After my first visit, I didn't immediately notice anything amiss, but after I ran an errand, I noticed the magnet on the back of my car was missing. I hadn't noticed when I drove off because I had walked around the front of the car. I actually really love that particular magnet and can't find it any longer, so I drove back and politely asked them to look for it, because it could have been a mistake. One guy remembered it, and another seemed to remember throwing it out. They half-heartedly looked for it for a minute and didn't find it. The owner came out then and asked what was wrong. I told him, and he questioned whether I had really had the magnet, then challenged me on it, and finally when I said I'd be happy to let others know about his crappy customer service, he shrugged and said something along the lines of "what do you want me to do about it?" So I got in my car and left. As I was driving home, I started checking for other things. And a few little small things are missing, nothing terribly valuable, but still....come on. In sum, I really don't recommend using this car wash unless you don't mind losing a few things each trip. read more

Have gone here multiple times and the service is outstanding! For $12 you can have your car hand washed, dried, vacuumed, windexed, and be on your way. They have always done a great job in like 10 minutes. Highly recommend! read more

They're work is sloppy! It seems that they clean pretty good the half of the car the customer is seeing all the time, but the other they barely touch. The staff is rude and not polite - I went to see how they do the job on the half of the car that was hidden from my view, and those "workers" did not let me see it, until I actually was ready to take the car out. I just left their premises, and won't return, ever! NOT recommended!!! You better find another place to wash your car. read more

Just got a great car wash at Ruby's. Very pleasant management and staff. I went during the middle of the week around noon. The car wash was fairly busy but not crazy. Budget at least 25 minutes. I'm used to washing my own car or using a totally automatic service. Ruby's made my car look better than anything I could do or what a total auto wash could do. I'll be back. read more

Probably the best car wash in the area. I've been coming here for years, tried other hand car wash places and none of them compare. They do a good job of wiping everything down and they pull your floor mats out to clean them. If it's all weather mats they scrub them with soap and dry them off. I've been to other places where they put soaking wet mats back in my car. Their is always at least 2 guys working on a car so you'll never wait too long for a wash to be complete. read more

I keep coming here because it's close and I like the owner and his guys, but frankly they miss some of the most obvious things even though they're working hard and taking a lot of time. Like wipe down the console, inside the cupholders and down the sides of the seats. I shouldn't need to pay for detail to get those wiped down thoroughly on a regular basis. If I can see it, they should see it. I just think they need better lighting in there and the language barrier is hard to explain that. Lately I've been going into those old-school drive-through exterior washes and cleaning the inside myself. read more

I went in on a Sunday morning so there were only 5 guys working but they still did a very thorough job and were done in about 15 minutes. I usually don't give reviews but I recently got a new car and since then I been to two different car washes. One that scratched my car, the other that did a half ass job. Needles to say, I was trying to avoid washing my car again. I was dropping of my daughter at camp and seen the early bird special for ruby car wash. I decided to give them a try. They did such a great job, even though they had so many cars waiting in line. They clean the interior really good, and I don't know what products they used, but my car smelled so good. read more

I might have given this place a stellar review except their customer service kinda stinks. This was my first visit and when I first pulled in there was a man standing inside so I asked him where I should park my car...instead of answering he practically yelled, Espanol!, at me then walked off. Um, ok. I pulled in farther and the other two men at the far end looked at me like I had two heads. It was very weird and awkward. They did do a very good job cleaning my car and in a short amount of time, but yikes, why so serious guys? On a side note, I had a piece in my car that had fallen off one of my running boards. It was in my car. After the car wash I looked around to find the piece and it was gone. I've tried calling them to see if they might have accidentally thrown it away, but no one ever answers the phone here. There is a sign stating that they are not responsible for missing items in or on your car, so maybe they found the piece and tossed it, thinking it was trash, but even if they did, it's not their decision what to throw out from my car! This is an expensive and obscure piece to replace. However, I'm sure if I return to inquire about it they will have amnesia. I will definitely not be returning to this place. There are just way too many hand car washes in Chicago to put up with their subpar customer service. read more

I'm done with this establishment! I went there today and noticed the owner was missing. No big deal I'm thinking, ok business as usual. Yeah right. First, the worker argued me down saying the wash was $16 instead of $14. They miraculously went up even though the sign is stating $14. I knew since the boss was away they were looking to pocket extra cash. Secondly, I go to my car and noticed nothing in the front seat was touched. I pulled out to the alley and opened the doors and saw crumbs still on the back seat. Also, they never wiped anything down which was never a problem before. I took pictures as soon as I left out. It took everything out of me not to go back in there and go off. In my opinion they stole my money. Be careful with this place. read more

Booked a detail 2 weeks in advance. Show up as planned and the guy says the detail guy no show up. Lame.

DO NOT GO HERE. They cost me over $100 and a trip to the dealer to resolve the issue they caused with my brakes!! I wish I had read these reviews prior to taking my car here. It's so convenient to my house, the prices were good, and the guys seemed nice enough when I had a basic wash/vacuum, I decided to bring it back for the complete detail. Like the other reviewer, my car was soaking wet with a fan inside when I picked it up. But it's really clean and I'm fine with it. Except that when I turned the car on, the ABS and Brake lights are blinking and flashing all over the place. Quick check of the manual says I need to take this car to the dealer immediately. I tried to get my money back for the detail, at least, but they insisted the "CASH ONLY" payment I'd already made was locked in a safe and could not be returned. They managed to short, disconnect, or break something in my braking system while "cleaning the engine". I'm still waiting to hear from the dealer what that's going to run me. Never again. read more

UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT and it shows. I took my car there to get the interior and trunk shampooed due to a disgusting rotten potato smell that I couldn't get out of the car. They did a great job. Professional, through, clean, and returned every little thing they found under my seats. The place is clean and the workers are kind and professional too. I would highly recommend Rubys. This place doesn't deserve 1/4 star. I brought my car in to be sampooed on the inside...they say they "detail" the inside, shampoo, clean everything for $65 inside only. Ok. I asked how long ...3 hours. When I return 4hours later I found that my car was on...lights on, heat on full blast with a fan in the front seat. I asked why and they said they were "drying" my car!!! WHAT??? Anyway, I could not leave my car there any longer..it was soaked wet, the floor mats were flithy and the dash board still had the crumbs and it stuck like dog poop! read more
