I am a huge fan of breakfast, it's my favorite. Ruby Tuesdays brunch has all the best breakfast foods at their brunch buffet, I'm talking waffles, french toast, build a parfait station, pastries, the list goes on. They used to make mango tea with real mango chunks in it and it rocked my world, but they quit making it that way. :( They still offer mango tea and it's still good, but not rock my world good anymore. I went to Ruby's on Sunday and requested to be seated in a certain area. I was told that there was no server for that table, so I though ok it's just a seat. Then we ordered and I requested the mini burgers and was told I couldn't get those if I didn't get the salad bar. I didn't want a salad and felt that they were telling me what I had to eat. Wouldn't it be easy to deduct the price of the salad from the meal? I normally wouldn't say anything but the same thing happened the week before. When this restaurant first opened, it was awesome and the managers cared about the customers, I'm not sure if I will be back. I love the idea of the salad bar and they have plenty of toppings for the salad. Ordered online for take out. It's very convenient to us and we have done this a few times. Ordering online is pretty easy and food was ready quickly, within 20min. Value wasn't too bad, comparable to Applebees or other American fare restaurants. My daughters kids meal was awesome. 4 chicken tenders and a huge bowl of red grapes, she was in heaven! Hubby and I both got the 6oz sirloin and it was good. Nothing great, but good. I ordered a plain baked potato and received butter and sour cream on side which was nice. I have never had such rude service. I was sitting at the bar and the bartender acted put out that I was sitting at the bar vs. a table. Even asked me why I choose to sit at the bar. He treated everyone sitting at the bar in the same rude way. Felt like he practically threw my plate on the bar in front of me when my order arrived. My husband and I went there twice when we first moved here 6 months ago for Sunday brunches but because the brunch is sooooo expensive, we waited for an occasion to go back. Well, we went there on mother's day for the brunch and the food quality was sooo bad! Not what we remembered! The guy working in the area that cooks the meat's was asked by a gentleman next to me to wipe a plate because it was wet, so the worker took a rag that was laying around and wiped it, the man said "That was a dirty trick, that rag was dirty" then I noticed that, sure enough, that guy took a really dirty rag to wipe the thing! The guy was nice, he could have demanded a free meal or something, but he just put the plate down and walked away.... The waitress tho, was nice and attentive to us... but two buffet meals and 3 orange juices? Not sure that 50 + is worth it. Also, if they are that dirty as to wipe dishes with dirty cloths, I wonder what else they do to cut corners.... Guess no more Ruby Tuesday for us. read more

I have eaten here many times before and have been very happy. They have a fantastic salad bar that is the main reason for coming. Also there fish tacos are fantastic. But at this last visit things were a bit askew. First upon walking in I saw a server walking on his ripped pants cuffs, and very sloppily dressed. I am aware that kids like to individualized themselves but he was very offputting and unprofessional. Also our server was a bit scatter brained. Might just not have ben on her game. We have ordered carry out from this Ruby Tuesday's on 86th Street in Urbandale, at least five times during the shut down. Each time we had great service. Also, the coupons we get sent to our via email are great. Ruby Tuesday's manager, Manny is great, attentive, he if very friendly and helpful. I would like to also say Trisha is wonderful. She has answered the phone a few times when I call in with an order, and she is great. Trisha, like Manny, read back what is ordered, to make sure they get it right. When they say the food will be ready for pick up, is when it is ready. Once, on a Friday, when a coupon came out to buy one, get one free, they were very busy, and the food took a little longer to get, but that was ok. They were really busy, and everybody at Ruby Tuesday's were working as fast they could. The food is also prepared to perfection and there is plenty of it. You sure get your money's worth. read more

We went on Tuesday as they had a special to receive 44% off your total bill on that day only. We got there about 5:05 and there were already people in line to be seated. However, once we got up to the host stand we realized the line and wait wasn't because tables were full it was because the host was having a terrible time figuring out how and where to seat people and also because most of there servers would not be there for another 10-15 minutes. So there were open tables that they could not seat people at. We did get seated though after a brief wait for a server. Our server was very nice. He took our drink orders which was just water and a lemonade for my son and came back to take our order. I got the double decker chicken with mashed potatoes and it was amazing The chicken was grilled and had a lot of flavor. The mashed potatoes went very well with it. My husband had the shrimp trip and he said the scampi was very salty. He liked the jumbo shrimp the best and said he probably would not order that again. He wished he had ordered the chicken I got! We both also did the salad bar. There was a lot of brown lettuce and thats a big turnoff for me. They were refilling some things so my husband missed out on cottage cheese. But the salad bar was good. It did take quite a awhile to get our food. the kitchen and manager were not very well prepared for the busy evening even though they also had tables that people had reserved via reservations. Food was below average in taste for a sit down restaurant. Every time I visit I wonder why but can't figure it out. Is everything frozen? Service was actually incredibly terrible today. Worst service I may have had ever, anywhere. I believe we were his only table. I don't know what he was doing instead of taking care of us. The server forgot one of the entrees and came back to ask. Then they delivered the wrong app twice because he entered it wrong. It seemed he didn't understand the menu items. The server was not friendly or welcoming, he would just stare at us blankly. He didn't bring out the right condiments with one of the entrees. He tried to charge us for the kids meals which are free on Tuesdays. We had a youngster that was being difficult and he failed to come take my payment. We sat there forever while he was across the restaurant sweeping the floor. He just kept sweeping not even glancing over. This guy should have never been allowed to wait on tables. What an awful experience. I'm usually very forgiving with service mishaps but when you fail at literally everything it is very annoying. read more

I'm very disappointed. Very underwhelmed by everything happening during this visit. My cheese fries had blackened cheese burnt on top, like not even like drippy cheese it was like solidified cheese that you had to forcefully pull apart, and the chefs still thought it ok to serve to me. The mozzarella sticks are twice the price of fast food places and half as good, and have a weird after taste. Chicken was okay, but we had to sit there waiting for 15 minutes after they took our food away to get our check which knocked it down some more. To add, they clearly had just added these Thai spring rolls cuz they were all over the menu and they were not visually appealing nor were they good whatsoever. To begin this experience was really bad, which was surprising since other visits have been good to great. Bottom line: the service was horrendous from the management, waitress and hostess. (1) As we were at the salad bar, we could hear the manager demanding all types of food items from the kitchen. This was very unprofessional and set the tone for things to come. Manager note: you shouldn't let the guests hear that there are kitchen issues. (2) Approximately 15 minutes later, our waitress began bringing food items to our table that were not ours. The first time this happened, we thought nothing of it. The second time, the food was for the table next to us even though they didn't order until 15 minutes after us. Our food came ~55 minutes after we had ordered. (3) Overall the food wasn't bad except for the baked potato that looked like it had been from the night before, completely dried out. I mentioned it to the waitress, she agreed that it didn't look good and then asked us if we wanted more to drink. No offer to replace it or get something else. Did she even hear the potato was rock hard. Absolutely ridiculous. (5) On the way out the manager was no where to be found, we told the hostess about the experience and she asked for the name of the waitress and then said sorry And that's it. RUBY TUESDAY GET YOUR SERVICE TOGETHER ---- People might be more understanding if you would just treat them with respect and offer to make a wrong, right. read more

I am typically a huge fan of Ruby Tuesday, but I don't think I will be returning to this one. They have very rude employees. I came with my son in an infant carrier and requested a booth. I was then told I could not sit at a booth with an infant carrier due to fire codes, I said that was fine and that we would be fine moving to a table. I got up expecting to be seated somewhere where an infant carrier would be acceptable. I was not. The waiter just walked away and left me standing there with my infant and two year old son. I decided that they must not want me to stay and walked towards the door. As I was leaving I mentioned to the hostess that in the future if you want someone to move, it is a lot easier if you let the customer know where they should sit. The young man proceeded to laugh at me and say leave then. This was by far the worst customer service I have ever received at a restaurant. read more

I have been to Ruby Tuesdays a couple dozen times at least and is one of my most favorite places. For awhile I got the sliders with fries and salad bar. There were four sliders so I always took two home. They were delicious! I'm not in big burgers anyway so the sliders were the perfect size. The salad is varied and good. I believe it's more than a one-trip bar. The salad bar can be the main meal too because there is ham there or just go all veggie. Lots of varied salads makes it really good and around an 8" bar. I have varied my menu since beginning with the sliders and have always been pleased with the food. For my birthday, I didn't have the actual coupon for a free dessert, but I did have it on my cellphone, and they still honored it that way. That was a nice surprise since they certainly didn't have to honor my cellphone coupon. I thought it was quite nice of them! The dessert was a little bit big for me so we shared it. It was wonderful and chocolately decadent. I wish they hadn't done away with their cupcake dessert though. It consisted of two different flavored cupcakes. I had one and shared the other with my friend. Just a little taste of something sweet was very nice, and the cupcakes were delicious too. I always like to compliment the waiter or waitress, but I have to as their names since they don't wear name tags. The service is always great! I love ice tea, and their peach tea is glorious. The posted hours for this location said they close at 11pm. We arrived at 9:55pm and entered the restaurant. We were greeted by a younger lady that stated they had closed early. We looked around the place and there was at least 10-12 other people still in there eating at the time. We asked why they had closed before their posted hours. She was VERY rude and told us they had no sales since 8pm, which based on the people still in the store i highly doubt. We asked her to clarify why they had closed again and this time we were told "Well it is a holiday". She was very rude and actually kept walking closer to us trying to force us back out the door. Once we were outside she locked the door behind us and returned inside. My family loves Ruby Tuesday. when we travel we always try to find one close by to eat at.
