Dr. Rucker, was very thorough in his explanation of what our son would need and spoke in terms that helped us understand the severity of what had been done. Our dentist referred my 7 year old son to Dr. Rucker. My son was quite nervous about the initial visit, mainly because he didn't know what to expect (neither did I!). I found Dr. Rucker's office thanks to the recommended yelp reviews and I've had an awesome experience so far! As soon as you walk in you are greeted by the receptionist and you sign in just by clicking your name on an iPad they have on the wall which is very convenient. The office is very nice, I love the clean ocean vibe I get from the place. You get your X rays right away and meet with Dr. Rucker where he asks you a few questions about yourself and tells you what his plans for your teeth are and shows you a before and after picture of what your teeth would look like. What really was the deciding factor on why I chose him was when he told me his belief that not only does he want to try to give me a straight and perfect smile but a smile that is symmetrical to my facial appearance! I have been to many dentist around my area and all they wanted was to pull healthy teeth to make room for braces. Dr. Rucker believes in the conservative and specializes in Damon Braces which in my opinion is a better form than traditional braces due to its light size and shorter treatment. After meeting with Dr. Rucker I was then seated with their auditor Alanah who has been very helpful in explaining the different options of braces, payment plans, and insurance. I went with the clear damon top and regular nickel braces bottom as my top teeth are mostly shown when I smile. A week later after my first appointment I finally got my damon braces! As a family, we're new to the area. Finding a great pediatric dentist or orthodontist can be a real challenge. Add to that equation, kids who loved their old dentist and Ortho, and kids who are scared of dentist and Ortho work, an you have a daunting task to say the least. My wife found Dr Rucker and we have been incredibly impressed. Easy electronic check-in, high-tech X-ray system (which my daughter loved), extremely kind, professional and friendly staff and Damon Braces, have made this a great experience so far! No old-fashioned braces, rubber bands and pallet-expanding appliances like I had. We still need to go through the treatment process to verify results, but we are very optimistic!
