Went for lunch before the closed for the season. First time eating here and what we had was pretty decent for the price! Did expect more from the crab dip & cream of crab soup, the soup tasted like it was made with fat free milk and need more crab and the dip need more crab and properly cooked baguette. It's the most outstanding crab I've tasted in my entire life! We ordered the crab soup which also was wonderful. The service is very good. Captain Pat's is right on the water and beautiful views are everywhere. It's located in the woods right on the water and they offer indoor seating or outdoor. You also can sit at one of their two bars. I imagine it would be a great place to go for drinks and entertainment in the evenings. There were 20-30 people in the dining room and there are always two sides to every story but Ashley was the only one being loud and rude and clearly being biased, calling the cops was completely uncalled for and unwarranted. She's the liar and clearly acting defensive. There was no reason whatsoever to kick the woman out, and to call the police was absolutely absurd! Witnessed manager Ashley be incredibly rude and racist to a customer today. Avoid this place. It was very uncomfortable and she called the police on a woman for no apparent reason other than the color of her skin. read more

Food & service is outstanding. Steamed crabs & shrimp are great. My only problem is that, to me, the prices are pretty expensive. I'm from New Port Richey on the west coast of central Florida. This may be influencing my opinion. We lived in this area for 9 years but have been gone for 13 years. As an example, to pay TEN DOLLARS for 12 hushpupies is excessive, in my opinion. read more

My girlfriend ordered a half dozen large crabs, and the meat was very dried out inside. Clearly they had been heated up from having been steamed the day before. I also had a crabcake which didn't have much flavor at all and virtually no backfin meat. Quite disappointed as we have enjoyed this place in the past. Captain Pat needs to step it up. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. DO NOT RECOMMEND.Tried this place on a recommendation. This place sucked on all accounts. Was never able to be seated so ate at the bar with a bar tender who was absent 90% of the time out back smoking packs of cigarettes and socializing instead of serving people. Could not even order beers. Once we finally got food it was Meh. Boiled Scallops were bland. Crab bites were ok. Spicy Gumbo soup was very good though. Time to pay and was informed "oh by the way the credit card machine has been broke since you got here" but they never bothered to tell anyone that. Had to attempt to pay cash, luckily was able to. Oh and I was way overcharged but at that point didnt't argue it because I just wanted to get the hell out of there by that point. read more

Cannot give this place enough praise. Great local seafood! Probably the best cream of crab soup I've ever had! Amazing fish, both fried and broiled! I love their macaroni salad (which has shrimp and chunks of cheese hidden in it)! So yeah, their food is awesome, but their servers are great as well. They remember who you are and take care of you. Been to Captain Pat's twice once for dinner last year and today we went to lunch there. Food and service have been outstanding. We've been outside both times and enjoy the water view and boats. If you're a rockfish fan this is where you want to go. My wife has had it both times and raved about how fresh and delicious it was. It's also a great place for steamed crabs. Wat a great restaurant! We found this place with Google Maps. It's way out of the way and there is no way one would find it on their own. Tucked into a marina on a dead end road several miles from the main road, it's worth making the trip. We decided to make an overnight trip to St. Mary's County. We arrived a little after noon and had decided to eat here. It overlooks the water and has a deck (but it was cold and rainy). But even inside it was nice to be able to look over the water. Food is excellent and reasonably priced. The cream of crab and vegetable crab soups are delicious. They have several lunch specials for $15 - well worth the price. But even their regular entrees aren't that expensive. Our waitress was super friendly and kept my coffee cup filled (that in itself is a challenge - I'm a big coffee drinker). Service was excellent with food coming out quickly and hot. We were so impressed we returned the next day before we headed back home. It has already become our goto place in the area. read more
