Definitely get the ribs! No comparison in the area...Haven't had a bad experience or meal...

So I ate at this place a long time ago when it was the BBQ Joint with the previous owner and was not impressed by the very small portion sizes compared to the prizes. Since it has recently changed hands and is now known as the Rude BBQ I was very excited to give it another try. So tonight I placed my order online, the website was very easy to navigate while place my order. We had a very simple order, two brisket cheesesteaks, one sweet potato fry and one house cut fry's. The brisket subs were on a basic sub roll NOT toasted, a SMALL amount of "cheese sauce" with plenty of pickled jalapeños and sautéed onions. Also, all extra condiments/sauces are $1..... However the meat was fairly plentiful, tender and moist. The sandwich was nothing special and most likely won't order it again. The fries.... nothing short of basic, not nearly as good as "boardwalk fries" and the sweet potato fries described as "too good to be true" is a false statement. They were plain, no seasoning or flavor it was just a small handful. Just to add we arrived and picked up our order at the time the website said it would be ready and every single item was COLD or room temp. This is what bbq is supposed to be! Great job chief I'm a huge fan of a lot of things on the menu! I start with the bbq back bowl which is 3 ribs atop a very nice portion of some delicious fries. Then there's the half pound of brisket and the mac and cheese and the collard greens that just does me in. There are many other delicious items on the menu but ill let you figure it out on your own! After hearing all the great reviews from some friends we decided to try it. First impression was not great...the wood shavings on the floor make the restaurant feel dirty. Order the onion rings as a appetizer and the batter was lacking seasoning and tasted like flour. Both of us got the sampler platter, the brisket and tiny chicken thigh were alright but nothing to rave about. The pulled pork was watery and almost flavorless. The ribs had a really strong fake smoke flavor to them and the rub has a weird flavor. The sides were also very lackluster. Paid $52 for a nice case of indigestion. read more

Mediocre at best! Let's start off with the temperature it was stupid cold in there. I appreciate lower temperature inside when it's hot outside but not 60 degrees. My husband and I decided to go since it had so many reviews on here. We ordered BBQ sampler with 3 sides. Order came pretty fast but all was cold lukewarm at best. I don't know about you but I like my BBQ hot or edible warm, not cold. Also flavors weren't quite there, some meat was really dry and tough. Corn bread and beans were ok. Had the temperature been warm inside and hot on my plate my review would've been a little different. All and all probably wont go there again. read more

We ordered the sampler. The only tasty things on the plate were the ribs. The pulled pork & the beef were so dry. The chicken looked way under cooked and was a little slimy. The cole slaw was far too watery. The sides were so tiny. I would consider giving it another chance but no time soon. read more

Excellent BBQ! We had a pulled pork sandwich and sliced brisket on a roll. BBQ sauces are homemade and on the table and vary from hot to sweet. The sides of cole slaw, collard greens and baked beans were delicious. It was a beautiful day and there were tables outside. Our server was friendly and attentive. A memorable lunch. We topped it off with an ice cream dessert called the Muddy Mason. Vanilla ice cream topped with salted caramel sauce,candied pecans and toasted mini marshmallows. Came in for my mom's birthday. Decided on the sampler platter for 4 which was perfect. You got to try a little bit of everything. The bbq was delicious and the sides were superb. The food is good. The service is ok. I called in my order but still had to wait because they didn't start making my order until I got there. What's the point in calling in your order if you still have to wait 15min once you get there. I would give more stars, but the price is way too high for the amount of food you get. One pork sand. by itself was $6 + and not very big at all, the sides are $3 each, plus the cost of a drink. Way too pricey!!! You can make a combo, but then the sides are even smaller and the price difference for getting a combo isn't much lower than getting everything separate. read more

I'm a local guy who's been eating here for a number of years. BBQ Joint serves melt-in-your-mouth brisket and the best ribs for miles around. Sides include a delicious potato salad and macaroni and cheese (sorry the recipe changed recently). Great iced tea, too. Watch chalkboard for one-time-only specials. Staff is friendly and efficient. We'd been to this restaurant before on a drive around the Eastern Shore and liked the place a lot. But this time not so much. Last Saturday evening around 8, an hour before they close. Wanted to get the platter for two, which includes a couple of ribs. Guy at the counter growls at us, "We ran out of ribs" and goes back to what he was doing without saying another word. I suppose you could run out of ribs on a gorgeous busy fall afternoon, but how about 1) saying it with a smile, and 2) offering something in place of the ribs without our having to ask for that. The woman who did then wait on us had to be prompted to make up with something else for the missing ribs. All in all, a disappointing experience. The three sides that come with the platter for two were very small, the greens definitely did not have the vinegary taste she told us they would. Stopped for lunch during a drive back from Ocean City. Very tasty. We recommend the swicy (sweet + spicy) BBQ sauce.

I'm giving this place 5 stars because I loved everything. I'm picky about my BBQ and sides. Many times my husband and I love the BBQ but the sides are just Blah. We had Mac n Cheese, potato salad and corn bread for our sides and all were perfect. The BBQ was moist and full of flavor. Oh I can't forget the BBQ sauces, I think there were 6 bottles on our table. Sat outside for lunch at one of the half dozen sidewalk tables one sunny cool June day. Ordered a small pulled pork sandwich and fries. The sandwich came with a side of coleslaw small but adequate size-wise to dress the sandwich and was very tasty. The small sandwich was full of juicy pulled pork andplenty big enough for me! The condiment basket on the table held a variety of sauces, so you add your own and as much as you like. Good, hot fries which appeared to be hand cut. All in all a delicious lunch and very affordable as well! Visited the next time you're in Easton - you will be happy that you did. There is street parking. read more

I just visited the BBQJ again this past week and, having had alternative BBQ inside of week, I realized that BBQJ is still my favorite. I had the two meat platter that consisted of 1/4 lb of pulled pork and 3 ribs as opposed to the usual pulled pork sandwich. It is a great alternative when you want to stay lower carbs. The meat at BBQJ is always smoked to perfection and truly ranks at the very top of BBQ. The baked beans and cole slaw I had this time were fantastic as usual...just the right amount of pickle in the beans and the slaw compliments the pulled pork perfectly. I've had the collared greens in the past and loved it but the one time I had the corn bread it was a bit dry. The beer selection is more than adequate and saving space for their homemade pie is worth it. The restaurant is in the cool town of Easton (about 5 blocks off the main strip)...the pine shavings on the floor and tie dye t-shirts on the wall (along with photos of our past presidents enjoying BBQ) add an element of funkiness that makes this the perfect place to grab BBQ and a beer! read more

The first time we visited The BBQ Joint was for lunch. Needless to say we went back the same day for dinner. The food is excellent and the portions are just right, so you don't get over stuffed. Although it is south of the Mason-Dixon, Maryland's Eastern Shore is not really barbecue country. But the BBQ Joint might change that. This is the best BBQ ever! The ribs were moist and basically fell off the bone. I had the dry version and the spices were tasty and not overwhelming. My husband's beef brisket was smoked just right, tender and juicy. No liquid smoke here! We topped it with several of the homemade sauces on the table--delicious! One of the kids had a pulled pork slider, and I stole a bite of this incredible sandwich,which was perfectly cooked with the smoky meat combined with a slightly sweet sauce. Lucky for my other child, she had the Baby T-Rex (2 ribs and a slider) and so I didn't feel the need to poach from her too. The desserts sound marvelous, but we were all too full to give them a try. Next time we'll skip lunch to be better prepared. And there will be many next times! read more

Sat at the counter overlooking the kitchen, chatted with chef Andrew, a very pleasant, knowledgeable guy, a culinary expert, whose hobby, he said, is "BBQ." Well, his hobby is our culinary pleasure: wonderful sides (collards, a must), meat (all and any of it), and delightful young energetic and helpful server. A gem in Easton--or just about anywhere, and worth the drive if you're not from those parts. We loved all if it, including the sawdust floor, immaculate tiny but modern bathroom, contempo-country atmostphere. This is about the best barbecue I've ever had. While we used to make weekend jaunts out to Easton (from DC) for the art shows, music, or just a nice nature walk, now we go because we need a BBQ fix. We used to be straight pulled-pork mainliners, but lately the brisket and chicken has been blowing us away, too. The sides are also excellent--great greens, mac 'n cheese and cole slaw the way you like it. The last time there we stocked up on sauces and rubs (the spicy one and the sweet one, and who can live without a good Butt Rub for all your seasoning needs?), hoping to replicate the BBQ-Joint experience in our own home. But if want truly succulent smoke, you gotta go out to Andrew's. Have to add that the wait staff and chef crew are the best. Is it just us they treat like family or do they do that with everyone? I have never been to the BBQ Joint in Easton, but I can tell you one In Lakeshore Plaza in Pasadena has a lot to be desired. Until you put the extra BBQ sauce on the meat had no flavor what soever.
