    Salmon bites
    Andy C.

The food was good. Rock fish poor boy special was very good. Fish tacos amazing but the salmon bites starter, extra yummy. Service was very good. Friendly and attentive. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Ambiance open building bar on right hand side. Very plain[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] . [[HIGHLIGHT]]Place appears to be located in an industrial plaza type.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Parking in front.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Super casual restaurant.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Our service was fine. Waitress was nice and friendly. We ordered calamari and cream of crab for starters. For entrees, grilled cheese w/ cream of crab soup, fish and taters (hush puppies on side), rockfish poboy, Cuban and a grilled salmon salad. The good stuff. The calamari came out hot and crispy with a spiced cocktail sauce. It was tasty. It didn't have fried tentacles which, for me, was a bummer bc it's the most flavors part! The salmon salad was fresh and the fish was grilled nicely. The vinaigrette wrapped it all together. The hush puppies were crispy and moist on the inside. It was the best thing we ate there. The mid stuff. The Cuban didn't come on the typical roll. It was a brioche. The mustard was stone ground not yellow. And, the pork was dry. My rockfish poboy was tasty but there was more bread than fish. The fish in the fish and taters had a strange sweet spice to the oil. Maybe the frying oil needs changing? It was also salty for me. The grilled cheese was nothing to write home about.

The food is very tasty, service excellent. We had oysters, a crab soup then a tuna salade and fish&tots. Evetything tasted delicious and very fresh. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We ate outside as our dog was with us. The terrace is very nice.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The only reason for not giving 5 starts is the aspect of the restroom. I trust they are cleaned and a good coat of paint, specifically of floor would help a lot.

    Bourbon Glazed Salmon Salad

We stopped for lunch on our way to the eastern shore and were so glad we did. We both had the bourbon glazed salmon salad, and it was delicious! The healthy portion of salmon was cooked perfectly. The greens were dressed with a lemon-Old Bay vinaigrette (served on the side) that I could've drunk with a straw, it was so good. I liked that it had fresh cranberries rather than the typical craisins you find on most salads. We also tried the tots (amazingly crispy - excellent), mac and cheese (not baked and the sauce was made with a fancy cheese I couldn't place - okay), and stewed tomatoes (not baked bread filler, looked homemade-good).

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Headwater Grill is fairly new. Open since 2019 and in a great location with open indoor seating and a nice patio area.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Nestled in a shopping center, parking was a breeze. I opted for the blue catfish with creamy parmesan grits and a crab soup. The catfish was perfectly cooked, tender, and flavorful, while the parmesan grits were a comforting and very cheesy. My friend chose the rockfish and shrimp served with grits, and it was impressive, flavorful and a large portion. The standout drink of the evening was undoubtedly the orange crushes, which were vibrant and perfectly balanced. While the service was generally attentive and our server was exceptionally friendly, there was a slight hiccup when my crab soup was forgotten and, upon arrival, was disappointingly lacking in crab meat. However, this minor oversight did not overshadow the overall quality of the meal. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Despite this small setback, my experience at Headwater Grill was positive. The quick service, delicious food, and welcoming atmosphere left a lasting impression.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I look forward to returning and enjoying another meal, perhaps with the crab soup properly prepared next time!

Fry up everything and serve it as one dish

I refuse to believe Headwaters isn't a huge fan favorite among Easton locals. Seriously, if I were a local, I shudder to think how often I'd eat here. First, you gotta love the location. Right in the middle of a giant parking lot. On approach, it feels like you're driving up to a giant department store. I think they may be connected to one. Or some giant factory. So yeah, lotta pavement. In fact, the little patio area is like a sliver of pavement surrounded by a sea of pavement. Not much to look at. But you do get a nice breeze coming off the parking lot. Headwaters isn't a flashy place by any means. I don't even think they have a single pasta dish on the menu. It's just essentially what amounts to heaping portions of fresh seafood piled on top of your plate. I honestly can't remember in recent times when I felt a moment of pure, uncomplicated delight like the one I had that evening sitting in that abyss of concrete. Everything was served piping hot. Loved how all the fried food was golden and crispy. The food hit the mark on all levels. Live long and enjoy a happy life, said the fortune cookie. I'd recommend this place to anyone with a pulse. The dinner lost to time.

Wonderful place! Visited from NYC, and it was just what I needed! Small town vibes, great food, amazing service, and top-notch company. I ordered the steamers with class, mussels, and shrimp. Delightfully prepared, came out hot, large serving size, and washed it down with some Stella. I'll definitely would go back! Great for large groups also.

    Catfish & Grits

The atmosphere is open clean modern nautical. This restaurant appears to be a local favorite. [[HIGHLIGHT]]They also have a very nice patio.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The service was friendly & excellent. We started with a refreshing DevilsBackbone brew. We tried the Red & White Crab Soup which is a nice unique blend of New England White & Maryland style crab soups. We had a tasty chicken wrap. We liked the fresh cob salad topped with perfectly cooked salmon. The special was catfish with a rich yummy sauce over grits.

Stopping for lunch on our way to St. Michael's. I did not do a great job of capturing the dishes we ate, but we ate well. Service really was outstanding and plenty of parking is available.

So it just started out riding through the small areas of the Eastern Shore and a gas run. He asked me if I wanted to go get a coffee....I said no, let's find a pub or brewery. I consulted with my phone like all of us do these days and found 4 Dogs. Waze kind of messed us up, but it actually worked out because in our being turned around for a few minutes, we found another place that we will be returning to before the summer season starts to try out and I will review on that at some point. We pulled up to this very pleasant looking building with some dogs painted on it. We walked in and it was just this nice place with pool tables, some tables to sit at and of course a bar. We selected to sit at the bar. We were served by Chris who was just fantastic and makes a great orange crush. The vibe is just so nice in the pub, just the way I like it. You can hear yourself think, you can talk to your partner without screaming, yet there is music playing and laughter....it's just a nice friendly place. We ordered a Hot Honey Old Bay order of wings as we were going back to our campsite to have dinner. Would for sure order these again. They were meaty, and the sauce was sticking to the wing, not laying all over the basket. Very impressed with the taste. We thought the drinks were a great price, but then living in the Baltimore area, we get hammered on price here when we go out, which is why more often than not, hubby makes our drinks at home these days.....but this is a nice little place in the town of Easton which looks like it has a bunch of hidden little gems and we are going to take another trip down soon! Really enjoyed our time at this pub!

What this translates to is Shelby elevated our dining experience, and we are thankful to have crossed her path. I rarely compliment or review the front of the house. Mainly because most of them lack basic restaurant skills; food preparation knowledge; customer service; and are generally void of a personality. Restaurateurs - When your servers think a bouillabaisse is a cream soup, it's your fault - do better. So back to Shelby. After spending the afternoon wandering through the shops in St. Michaels on my first-ever visit to…read moretown, I found myself craving one thing for dinner. A really good burger. Actually...a really good burger with crab dip on it. Naturally, I started searching for somewhere that could satisfy both cravings at once and landed on Carpenter Street Saloon, a laid-back local watering hole that's been serving up food, drinks and good times in the heart of St. Michaels for decades. Their menu had both burgers and crab dip, but not together. Challenge accepted! I arrived around 4:30pm on a Friday during Fourth of July weekend and somehow managed to snag the very last parking spot in their small lot. Even better, as I walked inside, a booth just inside the front door opened up. The adventure gods were clearly looking out for me! The atmosphere was exactly what I was hoping for. Folks were gathered around the bar enjoying drinks, conversations filled the room and absolutely nobody cared that I had wandered in by myself for dinner. Sometimes that's exactly the kind of place you need after a long day of adventuring. I studied the menu for approximately three seconds before asking my waitress what I assumed would be a ridiculous question. "Could I get a burger...with crab dip on it?" Without missing a beat, she smiled and said, "Absolutely! We actually used to have that on the menu, but nobody ordered it." I couldn't stop grinning! "Well," I replied, "I'm somebody...and I want it for dinner tonight!" One more vacation victory! For $16.00, my custom Bay Burger arrived piled high with rich, creamy crab dip and melted cheese dripping over the thick burger patty exactly as I'd imagined it. It was everything I'd hoped it would be! Juicy burger. Creamy crab dip. Gooey cheese. The combination just...worked! In fact...it worked so well that I briefly considered ordering another one before remembering I still had dessert plans later that evening. (Responsible Adult Alexis eventually won that internal debate.) I chose the coleslaw as my side, and while the flavor was really good, it was a little drier than I personally prefer. That's entirely a preference thing, though. If you're someone who likes a less creamy coleslaw, this one will probably be right up your alley. My Diet Pepsi was $4.00, bringing my total to just $21.20 before tip. Honestly, for a custom burger loaded with crab dip in the middle of one of Maryland's busiest holiday weekends, I thought that was an excellent value. Carpenter Street Saloon isn't trying to be fancy. It's comfortable. It's welcoming. It's the kind of neighborhood bar where locals and visitors alike can settle in, enjoy a great meal and relax for a while. If you're visiting St. Michaels and find yourself craving a burger, do yourself a favor...ask them to bring back the crab dip burger. Apparently nobody orders it. Except me. And now hopefully you!

At one point a woman passed out and an ambulance came, but there was a group of nurses nearby who said she was fine and had just had a little too much to drink. It honestly added to the wild, lively bar atmosphere. Drinks were very reasonably priced too -- we only spent about $37 for the afternoon. Great music, great vibe, and a fun crowd. I'd definitely go back.

"What are you talking about, Sam? Explain yourself!" "Stands t' reason, ever since we've known her, Dani's had a special fear of a spirit bear she said murdered her parents. None of us really really gave the story much credit, after all who believes in magic?" Sam paused oh so slightly before continuing. " 'Cept Illyana's a real witch, an' we fought demons and sorceresses. Maybe Dani wasn't kidding." Sam shifted his tone to reveal his evidence. "Illyana tells me Dani spent the last week or so in the Danger Room fighting bears! T'night, she walked out into a [winter] storm, alone, armed with a bow an' arrows an' wearing war paint! And got mauled. We were wrong t' doubt her. We should'a listened, we should'a seen the signs." Whenever my wife and I visit a restaurant or bar for the first time, whether we are there by ourselves or--in this case--treated to a meal by our favorite neighbors--I can count on her to sort through, heed, and pick up on every nuance in every aspect of culinary service that is there to be sensed. In this case, at the Dockside Restaurant & Sports Bar at 421 Deale Road in Maryland, the food was mostly wonderful, and the prices were more than reasonable for this economy. What prevents Dockside from receiving at least four stars was primarily the service. Two orders of fries, one sweet potato and one regular, weren't hot; and although our waitress reluctantly brought one of the orders back to exchange it for a new batch, the fries didn't taste any warmer. Our other host ordered his crabcake lightly-fried, only for it to be brought out broiled. He still enjoyed it, but it wasn't exactly what he wanted or ordered. By the end of the meal, it became obvious that, if we return, we need to ask for Sarah, who, although she was tending the bar and wasn't even our waitress, still brought one of our neighbors a fresh cup of Pepsi Zero that she could take on our return trip home. Sarah also exhibited a great sense of humor, an attentiveness and an attention to detail, and, most importantly, remembered with pleasure our hosts, who have dined there frequently. Apart from the pumpkin cheesecake, which was so infused with nutmeg and pumpkin spice that even Linus from Peanuts couldn't have tasted the pumpkin, and the lukewarm fries, our meals were terrific. I devoured the perfectly-seasoned shrimp from the fried shrimp platter; everyone loved their onion rings and their cream of crab and Maryland crab soups; and we all agreed that the crabcakes, boiled and fried, were scrumptious.
