We've gotten takeout from this restaurant several times and generally find it to be good. However today they really lived up to their name - RUDE. We ordered one of the family meals to go and when we got home discovered we were missing part of the order. I tried calling several times but they didn't answer the phone so my husband drove back to the restaurant. When he got there they argued with him repeatedly but finally gave him some brisket and ribs. We never did get the pulled pork that was supposed to come with our order. The food was just ok tonight but the attitude from the staff is what really earned this one-star rating. read more

I hadn't had BBQ since moving up here in November, and I can confidently say I still haven't. It's a stretch of the word "barbecue" to say that this is a BBQ joint; the pulled pork was flavorless without sauce. I ordered a pound of pulled pork, and while I didn't have a scale, I'm positive it wasn't a full pound. $25 after tip! Wholly disappointed in the food. Love BBQ so was looking forward to finally trying Rude BBQ. Sadly it was a major letdown. Two meat selections with two sides x 2 was around $65. For an extra $1 we received a miniature cornbread muffin that was so dry it was like eating cornmeal out of the bag. Fries were undercooked but edible. Macaroni and cheese was good. Pulled pork sandwich was good. Ribs were disgusting and by far the fattiest I have ever had. Yuck. Might explain why the place was practically empty around dinner time on a Friday night. read more

Just had an awesome meal. I had the sampler. The meat on the ribs was so tender and juice and falls off the bone. I also had the 50/50 brisket juicy yet not too fatty a perfect combination and I'm not sure what the smoke flavor was, but it was just the right balance I could smell and taste it but it wasn't over powering. I can't wait to go back, I think I will try the smoked salmon next. Service was good very friendly and accommodating for our crew. We ordered Rude BBQ tonight and took it home. The pulled pork and brisket were extremely dry. We had to cover in bbq sauce and still it was dry. The Mac and cheese wasn't hot and the cheese was not melted. The onion rings and ribs were delicious. They forgot a couple of items in our order that we paid for. I ordered the rude sampler which consists of three slices of brisket with your choice of lean, fat, or 50 50 along some Mac and cheese and fries maryland style that come in a big tray ideal for sharing. Their signature smoked ketchup is very good and unique in addition to their six different bbq sauces similar to Famous Dave's. Their low light and tranquil ambiance makes it really comfortable to dine in. They also count with a full bar for those that are wanting enjoy some spirits. We stumbled across this place looking for dinner on the drive to Ocean City, and we will 100% be back. Starting with the service, my mom ordered a beer that they were out of and the staff walked across to their other restaurant and grabbed one from there! The brisket cheesesteak was PERFECT. The mean was smoky, the housemade pickled jalapeños were tasty too. And the french fries actually tasted like delicious potatoes - I feel like most french fries just taste like the fat they're cooked in. I'm also a sucker for sauces and condiments and they did not disappoint. Chipotle mayo (definitely dipped my cheesesteak in this) and housemade ranch. We sat outside and they were quick and friendly. Incredible ribs and chicken. Among the best I've ever had. And I've sought out the best BBQ joints in the DC/VA/MD area as well as Kansas City, Louisville, and several other cities! One of their secrets is their amazing rubs (which you can purchase take home) which impart such a great flavor to their ribs and chicken that no additional BBQ sauce is actually needed! Their second secret is abiding to the "slow and low" principle which results in amazingly moist meat. The moistness of the chicken was particularly impressive and gave me lots of smiles! This place marinates the chicken in a sweet/salty/vinegary brine that imparts great undertones to the flavor of the meat prior to cooking the meat for hours and hours under low heat in the smoker. Definitely will plan to come here whenever passing through Easton. This place is a gem! read more

Had a good boss once that taught its not how you mess up but how you recover. We stopped here again because they do have a good product and their service was just fine the last time. We had salads with bbq/smoked meat last time and it was good. This time the first time out the salad was so severely wilted I just can't understand how they would have let it out of the kitchen like that. I was in Easton last Saturday for the Farmers Market so I could get some Flower moon soaps and organic vegetables and read the reviews for The Joint. I consider myself a foodie. The Joint opened at 11:00 a.m. and we were the first customers to arrive. The waitress standing in the back by oven did not welcome us by saying ," hello" , or " seat yourself.", or even smile upon seeing us nor did she gesture to move towards us. Her expression on her face was ," don't bother me." The waitress finally spoke when I asked, " do we seat ourselves."? I asked the waitress about a smoked hamburger I read a review on. The waitress curt response , " thats a special we don't have it." Somebody let the owner know this waitress is going to ruin your business. The waitress also explained the owner originally tried a thai restaurant at this same location and didn't make it. Well I'm so happy the owner didn't make it with Thai food because what a great bbq joint. Now to the food AWESOME ... I want to go back again. The brisket , pulled pork and the St Louis style ribs are great. Potato rolls are not homemade but thats okay...potato salad and greens are great. Cool wood shavings on the floor. If bbq is cooked right you don't need bbq sauce which is on the table. There are no draft beers that are craft beers. Anyway, despite our arrogant waitress I want to go back and eat today. With my wife and I having lived in Texas for many years, it's been difficult to find good BBQ up in the Northeast. While in town for a weekend getaway, we came across this place and had to give it a try for lunch. Boy were we so glad that we ended up stopping in as we truly enjoyed our BBQ lunch. It's not a big place and it was pretty busy when we arrived, but fortunately there was a couple of seats at the "bar" area. It turned out we sat down next to the owner's accountant and the owner was standing there chatting with them while they were eating. In addition to enjoying a tasty lunch, we also enjoyed our conversation with the owner and his accountant. Everyone was friendly and our waitress provided great service! Both my wife and I went with the small brisket sandwich, and the meat was lean (which we picked) and had a nice smokey flavor. There were three sauces to pick from---a sweet sauce, a hot and spicy sauce, and then a mix between those two. For my sides, I went with the mac-n-cheese and the BBQ beans while my wife went with the coleslaw and the BBQ beans. I liked the BBQ beans but my wife felt they needed a more BBQ flavor. Mac-n-cheese was good and my wife loved the coleslaw. I'm not a big fan of coleslaw in general, but I tried hers and must admit it was good. The owner also let us try the collard greens, and I have to admit that it wasn't too bad. I washed my meal down with their delicious sweet tea and we my wife and I shared a sweet potato cheesecake that was scrumptious. I tried to convince the owner that he needs to open up a location in Philly, but I don't think I had much luck in that. Oh well, guess we'll just have to make another trip to MD. Just want to say that this would've been a five star! However, the portion sizes for what you pay are tremendously terrible. The sides are even smaller, (two-three bites) but here's the good stuff, the waitress (red haired girl) Sweet, cute and such a great person that is why I paid $33 and even tipped enough to make it $40. Very quick service, although very small, was sooooo flavorful! That bbq sauce and chipotle mayo was killer!!! I would almost give this a 5 star except for the flies that were hovering over the food the whole time. I understand it's summer and due to covid we have to sit outside. But having to constantly swapping flies away while you eat is not fun. They tried to put fans to keep them away-appreciate that. Food was good though-had the sampler platter, ribs was tender and meat is falling off the bone, pulled pork was flavorful, brisket has a nice smoky taste, the worse one is the chicken which tasted like unflavored chicken breast w some sauce on it so get the dry rub version instead. Cleanliness is awesome, the server sprayed and wiped down both the table and the chair part of the picnic table which I really appreciate. Would come back when we can dine indoors again. read more

What a great find! We sat outside last night and had phenomenal service. We started with the nachos, and added brisket. The portion was a good size, and there was more than enough toppings to get a nice amount on every chip. We followed that up with a BBQ sampler, loaded gator tots, and wings. Everything was amazing! Flavors were spectacular, the potato salad, mac and cheese, brisket, smoked chicken, the fries, even the cheese sauce which is usually very standard and the artificial-like flavor was super good. The staff was very attentive, honest and friendly, I liked the variety of sauces they offer and the ambiance. The thing I didn't enjoy was the crazy amount of flies that are around on the floor by the tables outside. I attempted to sit outside but just couldn't take the flies bunching up around the table, the staff warned me, though! But I didn't think it was going to be that bad, still, I think they might be able to do something about it like power washing the floors or some kind of repellents, I don't know! I had left an average review many years ago for the previous incarnation/management of this restaurant when it was The BBQ Joint. Rude BBQ took over the restaurant as well as their Yelp account. On 4/2/2020 I was asked if I could remove my previous feedback and give them a second chance as the new owners and it would 'be on them'. I removed that feedback on 4/18/2020 and let them know. I received no return response. Whatever. I don't need free meals, but don't offer if you're not going to follow through. I did return however and ordered the sampler platter. I'd have to echo many of the comments of others. Grading the meats, the pulled pork was the best out of all but not spectacular. Brisket was dry. Chicken very disappointing. Onion rings were raw onions on the inside. Fries were limp and greasy to start. I like supporting local businesses and I see there are plenty of good reviews so maybe I'll give it another try, but am leery about blowing another $25 or more for a disappointment. read more
