We loved the BBQ Joint. The ribs, the chicken, the brisket and all the sides. When Rude bought them out, in all the press releases, they said we bought it because "We love it. We're not changing the recipes or menus". That was sort of true. Last night we ordered - 1/2 slab of ribs, 1/2 chicken - onion rings, cole slaw and cornbread muffins. Our usual. The chicken was so dry and overcooked that it was inedible. The ribs were a very poor quality..NOT the St. Louis ribs that the BBQ Joint had. The overall taste was "of smoke". TOO much smoke. There wasn't any other flavor. Cole slaw was 'old' and very vinegar tasting. If the corn muffins get any smaller? Onion rings...ordinary. Not at all like the BBQ Joint. So, I've now had to drop another restaurant and I regret it...tremendously. read more

Excellent ham sandwich. Huge and tasty!!! I had the Blue salad with brisket and it was wonderful! We were passing through town and found on Yelp. They have nice outdoor seating with fire to keep you warm on cooler nights. Quick service as well! It is 5 min off of 50 hwy. Worth the small detour towards my destination. read more

First off, the flavors are 5+, everything from the meats to the sauces to the sides were spot on. I will give Rude BBQ that, but it goes way downhill from there. -The service is poor, the cashier seemed disgruntled to be working on NYE. I asked if we could have an app before our meals and she said all the food is served at the same time. I wish that was true because our entrees and sides were not served together. I also saw her curtness with a family that came after us. -CA-CHING! This joint is expensive, especially for BBQ. Dinner for three was $91 with 15% tip. The BBQ sampler platter with two tiny ribs, A chicken thigh, and two small handful of meat was $18, no sides. -The portions are small for the price! We spent $91 and did not leave satisfied. The $11 brisket cheesesteak was the size of a Costco hot dog without sides. The 16 oz. bourbon slushie was either not 16oz. or they are using very deceiving glasses. We will not return. I wish this joint followed their own example of customer service, value, and taste as Rise Up Coffee (same owners). read more

Very, very good barbecue. The kind that you wish DC had more of. This small shop really gives off a small town vibe and I mean that in a great way. Our waiter was courteous and prompt, taking and bringing our orders quickly. The restaurant is really clean too. I got the pulled pork sandwich with a side of mac 'n' cheese. The pork, cooked perfectly, tasted like something I've always dreamed of but have never quite gotten to eat. I drizzled it with their hot sauce which was actually not too spicy but full of flavor. The mac 'n' cheese also rocked my socks, with thick gooey cheese hanging off the little elbow pastas. It all tasted really good. Oh yeah, the sweet tea was a nice touch as well... I can definitely see why someone who grew up on the Eastern Shore might say Maryland is a Southern state. Best part? The price. Ran about $25 for three people. I'm definitely coming here again next time I go to Ocean City or Bethany Beach. read more

I lived in Texas for a few years and am super picky about BBQ places. Virtually all places I have visited in the DMV have been awful. This place was simply great! We got the St. Louis half rack. Tender, nice smoke, meaty, great rub, and wonderful sauce. I would suggest going "dry" then applying one of the five or so sauces they offer. I also got the wonderful slow smoked chicken wings. Very nice. Good sides: corn bread, fries, mac n cheese Ok sides: beans, collards My wife got the brisket. Really nice smoke, juicy and tender. We ate outside on a warm evening. The inside is small. Including outside, they might have 10 or 12 tables. Well worth the visit. read more

This place was a welcomed suprise to the cute and quaint town of Eaton, MD. Went during lunch and 4 girls shared 2 BBQ tasting samplers, which included: Pulled pork, sliced brisket, chicken (add $1 for white meat) and 2 st. louis cut spare ribs and your choice of three sides. The sides we got -Mac and cheese, baked beans, and potato salad were amazing. Each side was not your run of the mill BBQ whateverness, they were all really tasty. MC was actually cheesy and flavorful, baked beans were sweet and salty, and potato salad was quality. As for the meats, they were all really good! Ribs were dry rubbed and tasty to perfection. They also have a selection of really good sauces too. My favorite was the Spicy, which was a smoky, salty and sweet sauce. Yum. read more

Driving through the Eastern Shore my friend and I wanted to forego typical road food so made a very short detour to the BBQ Joint (recommended by fellow Yelpers) - and I'm glad we did! Very good BBQ - there's even 5 sauces on the table to choose from. My mac and cheese was a little gummy but good, and I really liked the coleslaw. Good barbecue, side dishes and sauce just "meh". The pulled pork barbecue was really good. But it was served on the kind of hamburger roll you get at the grocery store. The cornbread was like you'd make from a mix, and the portion was tiny. The mac and cheese was standard and not very good. The barbecue sauce (I tried the spicy-sweet one) was apparently homemade - it was OK, but nothing special. The iced tea was OK - fortunately not sweetened. I'd go back for the barbecue -- but they need to up their game on the side dishes. Well don't worry about missing taco Tuesday. It's a cold soft taco with dry ass pork I think w ith 3 slices of a pickle. That's it,,,, no shredded lettuce, no sour cream, no guac,,,, no salsa,,,, not served on a taco rack.. just awful...almost like someone made them do it. Wings probly rubbed and baked 3 days ago. Terrible... And for the main course bbq nachos..which was more dry flavorless pork ,,, cheez whiz. No shredded lettuce,,, salsa fresh onions etc. Yes to fresh jalapenos but just no soul in the food. Just tried Rude BBQ now for the first time, Worth the drive! Great food, great service, fall off the bone ribs that melt in your mouth. The fried pickles were a little salty but didn't waste a bite!! I am now a fan of The BBQ Joint! Dry rub 1/4 chicken and wings dishes were out of this world. The perfect balance of heat and sweet. Did not need any of the 6 sauces available at the table (although the vinegar made it even more amazing). Soda and water unlimited. Wait staff very friendly. Decor is mellow wood floors, seating and high ceilings. Out door seating, as well. Kitchen is open for all to see the smokers. Sauces, dry rubs and t-shirts for sale. Prices are moderate. Our only complaints were that the side of sweet potatoes were a tad too sweet and, more important, we could not buy the chicken dry rub because they ran out of it! read more

I was in Easton for a medical appointment and asked for recommendations for lunch. I was given Rude Burgers and Rude BBQ. I prefer BBQ so I went there. I ordered take out for me and my adult son as I had to drive back to Chesapeake City. My son ordered the Maryland Pit Sandwich and I ordered the chopped brisket. I asked about soft drinks as the place seems to push beer and liquor. The choice was bottled drinks that I had never heard of. I just wanted a darn coke. Oh well. I got sweet potato fries with my order and ate them in the car on the way to WaWa for a foundation coke. The taste was ok but they were quite limp and wet with oil. They were hard to eat as they fell apart when you picked them up and were greasy. I has asked for sweet BBQ sauce for my brisket and I ordered cole slaw. When I got home, my son used the very tiny plastic container of sweet sauce on his sandwich. I couldn't believe that they gave me only enough sauce to maybe cover 1/2 ounce of my brisket and nothing for my son's sandwich. So, I was out of sauce. The brisket was fine but I had to put some bottled sauce on it which didn't make me happy. My son said his sandwich was just "OK". So, I spent a small fortune for food that was just "ok". Couldn't get a drink there, the cole slaw was just ok, I've had much better. And the cost was very high. Sorry guys, but I won't be back and I won't recommend you either. The staff wasn't busy at all because I was the only customer in the place at that time. No one went out of their way to help me or explain the menu or anything. I got here to be told by the owner they don't do my food anymore- I confirmed twice with the young lady on the phone the night prior. Owner was cold .. said sorry.. looked away like he could care less. Absolutely poor class. I'm out 3 hours of time and gas. I would never come back on a bet. Very disappointed with Rude BBQ. They got our order wrong and the inside of the restaurant is cluttered and disorganized. Portion sizes do not match up with prices. Way overpriced for what you get. One of the best pulled pork sandwiches I have had. They offer in two sizes small (4 oz) and large (6 oz), but they should offer a jumbo (12 oz), cause I would have ordered the food was so fire. I ordered the large with the two sides ('slaw and corn bread). So good. I was like a pig in....well you know. Pick up a tie dye shirt while you are there, if you are into that type of merch. It's super amazing that your hometown BBQ is one of the best pulled pork sandwiches you have ever encountered anywhere. Chef Andrew is super special. He is such an innate cook much like Bobby Flay. In fact, they went head to head one time! Yes google the episode of Show Down! I really think the key of the sandwich is the apple smoked wood, so the meat is down right tasty. The next part I know is the BBQ is both liquidy and spice particles 'floating' in a way that these pieces of spice float also on your tongue. Part of the experience I feel is trying the sauces on the counter and experiencing the one with slightly more heat. The sides are incredible too. I always go for the cole slaw so I can eat it on top and usually I hit the kale greens or the beans of the side. The elemental flavors are also theme here. Nothing is plain vanilla here. Each side has a taste surprise. It's funny I find myself craving this BBQ pork sandwich most and glad it's right there to eat! Swing by, even if your rushed for lunch, they can serve it up quick!!!!
