The Deer Creek Diner has really easy access to places like Deer lakes High School and No off-season Sports Complex. We have gone in the past and the breakfasts are huge and really tasty. We recently visited while my son was playing a soccer tournament at Deer Lakes. This time I got a coffee to go for my wife and myself. We tried a regular and a cold brew. There were about 15 different flavors to try for the cold brew. The hot coffee was standard. I really like the coziness of this place as well as the friendly workers and service. I recently came here for breakfast with some of my family. We were a party of 6. After about 10 minutes, we were seated. Our service was great from start to finish. The menu is a standard diner menu, but they also have a lot of really fun specials each week! I was here for the massive pancake and it did not disappoint. It was bigger than my head (and I have a big head! lol) I also got some savory items to try like the bacon, potatoes, and eggs. The food was good- nice greasy diner food. Breakfast foods include combos (with eggs, meats, home fries, and toast), several flavors of omelets (e.g., pierogi and Mexican), several flavors of huge pancakes (e.g., banana-walnut and peanut-butter-jelly), several flavors of French toast (e.g., pecan-banana and apple-butter), biscuit and gravy, breakfast burrito, etcetera. Was a surprise visit for us and turned into an amazing breakfast. Fast, efficient and delicious. Plenty of room at the table to accommodate all the dishes needed to plate our food. 100% hidden gem! When the pancake was brought out to me I said 'that's as big as my steering wheel'. The waitress commented 'driving right in to nap time'. Unless you are up for the personal challenge not need to order a stack of pancakes! One is enough. Even if your are a football player! Omelette-Mexican was delish. I got the reuben and it was delicious, however i recommend getting fries instead of the chips because they were quite chewy and not chip like. I have been out this way many times over the past seven years but until this week never had the pleasure of dining here. I liked it so much for lunch on Wednesday, that I came back for breakfast on Thursday, and by today (Friday morning) I was basically a regular haha! The staff is super friendly and engaging, the atmosphere is great, and the food... well the food isn't only delicious, it's enough to feed a family. I was actually really apologetic that I couldn't finish yesterdays meal but I was told that food scraps ended up being used on a pig farm and not simply trashed. Whether or not that's true, it made me feel better. Now about today's meal... it was supposed to be 2 eggs, bacon, home fries and a small pancake. I don't have particularly small hands but I put one in the photo so you can see what their definition of "small" pancake is. Then the other photo is the biscuits and sausage gravy I had yesterday, which was also of a size that puts the cheesecake factory's famously large portions to shame. If you're in the area to fish or play disc golf, I can't help but give a huge recommendation to this small local business! read more

I don't like giving bad reviews to local businesses, but I hate wasting a meal out on bad food even more. At least the money did go to local folks, but that wasn't the goal when we set out for breakfast this morning. I'll start with the positive, 1. They were able seat our party of four adults and three kids right away, 2. The breakfast burrito was fine, not great, but decent, 3, they make a good pancake. Now the bad, nothing else we ordered was good. The eggs were flavorless and the link sausages were terrible. The add ins in the omelets were very sparse. They add a huge gob of margarine on top of the pancakes and waffles. It doesn't even melt. And when asked if they had real butter, the server didn't even know. They also don't have real half and half. The whipped toppings that are served on some of the meals are non dairy topping, not made with actual cream. I know I'm picky. I won't make excuses for myself, but I like real food and it's disappointing when a home town diner serves synthetic, tasteless ingredients disguised as food. They do serve huge portions. If you're not picky and want quantity over quality, this is the place for you. read more

We tried to eat here this morning. Being Mother's Day, we anticipated a wait. However we were seated immediately. With that being said, it took at 15 min to get a menu, and then another 20 min passed without anyone coming to take our order. A large group came in after us and they were given top priority. They even got their drinks and ordered while we were still waiting for a server to stop at our table (even after several looks at us and then walked away.) To say we were bummed is an understatement. They have a large breakfast and lunch menu. We recently stopped by for breakfast. Ordered an egg, corned beef hash combo and a Belgium waffle. Everything tasted very good with fairly large portions. Overall, quite disappointed. I was shocked at the price point for a diner in Deer Lakes. This menu pricing gives Vegas vibes. This is surely the reason the prices aren't on the website. No one would go. I should have taken a photo. Sorry everyone. $10 for a pancake. Sure it's huge but it's still a pancake. Most are $15. Juice that's not refillable for 3.50. Add ons galore, even with the insulting price points. And you should only charge $3.50 for coffee if you are certain the servers will be refilling cups. But there was hardly anyone else there and she never came back for even a second pour. I would certainly share if the price was high but food quality is high too, but I can't say that. Everything with very average, so when average taste meets designer price tags, then only low rating can result so people know they should consider elsewhere. read more

It's been awhile since I've been here but they have gone above and beyond every time. I had them cater a bridal shower two years ago and it was so fairly priced and as it was Covid they individually wrapped all the sandwiches. They're always so friendly. A bit pricey. Ex: $9.99 for one dinner-plate-sized pancake. Our check was $32 for 2 people. 2 iced teas; 1 omelet platter (omelet, homefries, toast); 1 breakfast sandwich (bagel, egg, bacon, & cheese) and a side of homefries. The corned beef hash omelet was not "stuffed" with corned beef hash, as the menu stated. There was about 1/2 cup corned beef hash sprinkled in with a lot of deep fried potatoes, inside 3 eggs. The helping of grilled homefries on the side was generous. The omelet was supposed to come with toast, which was forgotten. About 12 minutes later, I reminded our server of no toast. Sadly, she brought the cold toast. Our server was pleasant. The atmosphere was a typical diner setting with several pictures to keep one entertained. We might give it another try, but it won't be anytime soon, as we traveled 40 minutes on a recommendation that this diner was "worth it". read more

This is your typical rural diner (in a good way). The service is happy, they keep the coffee flowing, and the food comes out super fast. The man at the cash register (who I assume is the owner) has always been very personable even though I'm not a regular (I would say I've stopped in once or twice a year). I enjoy their French toast. I also like their omelets. Definitely get your home fries deep fried if you like them crispy - they're my favorite in Pittsburgh. Just some things to note - it's a gravel parking lot, so be aware if you have any mobility issues where that might post a problem. I don't get cell service in that area - they offer free wifi inside, so if you don't know your way home, definitely plug it in to your GPS BEFORE leaving. read more

Amazing portion sizes. I mean amazing. It's diner food so not the best seasoned. But still just fine for breakfast food. The pancake stack was at least 18 inches in diameter and four inches high. I was eating off of that for days. Old school ambience and friendly service. Ample parking in a dedicated lot. They had recently been overrun with a holiday breakfast crowd so I'll attribute the level of uncleanliness to that. It was a lucky Father's Day when we stumbled onto this place. Massive pancakes. They're double the size of my head. I had the gourmet Banana Flip pancake and wow, was it good. They make their own banana mousse to put into the batter as well as their own whipped cream. So much yum! I also had their corn beef hash omelet and the amount of food I took home with me can last me another two days. Well worth it! read more
