Great options for Gluten Free! Their Turtle Soup is always amazing! Service is almost always good ans the people are super friendly there! There is plenty of seating for everyone, whether its parties or small groups. The drinks are affordable and so is the food. They even have Gluten Free beer and its my boyfriends favorite! We had a party of three and went on a Wednesday evening. The place has plenty of seating, and has a nice looking patio area. Biggest complaint is about the service. It took 20 minutes to get our drinks - two beers and one mixed drink (simply Tito's). My husband ended up ordering a second beer and it took about 15 minutes for that one. We got the fried pickle chips as an appetizer. Could have been crispier but weren't the worst. He got the salmon as his entree, I got the crab cakes. The rice that came on the side was very dry. The crab and salmon were good, and so were the sweet carrots. We also ordered their special brown butter cake as the waitress said it was very good. It was delicious and helped save this review. The inside was soft and the outside had a sweet and sugary crust. It was topped with vanilla ice cream and caramel. Very rich and delicious! This place might be great if you're just going to sit at the bar, although it's hard to tell. read more

Pros: I like the location, atmosphere (like an at-home type feel meets sports bar), roomier than it looks from the outside, parking is convenient and good for conversation for our group of 5 (at least they liked their food). Cons: I wasn't a big fan of the wait staff as they weren't very welcoming or friendly (waitress particularly didn't seem to be people-person, seemed flat). We were in the area and needed to kill time before an appointment and found this spot. So glad we did and its not in a place you'd pass by for any reason, very much off course hidden gem. The place is huge and it's very nice inside with a bar, middle enclosed patio and another large dining/party room. The menu has all kinds of items we had to the zucchini and it was delicious, one of the best I have ever had. It was light breaded and not soggy, it came with marinara and we asked for ranch and horseradish sauce. I chose the fish sandwich on Mancini roll with side of garlic mash and my husband had the French dip, both large portions and tasty. I stopped in here for lunch after doing a site visit nearby. Carmody's has been around for awhile and a colleague recommended it to me. The sandwiches are standard bar fare (in a good way). I'm always up for a good club sammich and the Turkey Bacon Swiss was just right. I see that much has been written about the service here, but I thought it was okay. We love this place, but had a bad meal there this weekend. We usually order sandwiches but my wife wanted Prime Rib so we decided to try it at Carmody's Grille. The service was great, but the meat was tough and tasteless. The potatoes and vegetables were fine. At a price of $29.99 does not include salad or bread. Mom's Smothered Chicken. Not dry had a nice mixture of mushrooms, bacon, and cheese. The 3 potatoes were undercooked and very bland. The asparagus was also nicely cooked but also bland. Solid burger. Minimal seasoning. It is just a burger. Overall the food was kind of bleh. Solid drinks and nice service from the female bartender that doubled as our hostess. Our waitress was training a new employee clearly not happy about. Service wasn't the greatest. The place was very clean and open. Smelled nice from the fresh basil plants that were perched jn the open area/ out door seating area. Four outa ten probably won't go again. read more

This family restaurant is a few minutes away from the Roxian Theater so we decided to check it out before a show. We arrived around 5:30 and were seated right away. Shortly after that, there was a wait and a long line. The service was excellent on a very busy night. They have a decent beer selection on tap and the food came out pretty fast. We ordered the fish tacos and the reuben. The tacos were sort of skimpy on filling to be honest and the fish was not well seasoned. They forgot the cabbage filling entirely and we had to ask for it after they brought them. The reuben was pretty good but really needed more corned beef for the $14 price tag. This place really packs them in on Saturday nights. We sat in the bar area and could see all of the families coming in with big parties. They run a tight ship and get the orders in quickly and efficiently. We enjoyed our visit but would probably order something different. read more

Carmody's is a great place for a quick beer and a bite. We have always been welcomed by a friendly staff, and we frequent there at least once a month. The Rueben is awesome, the French dip is awesome, I even love the simple hot sausage sandwich. The deserts are great, and maybe one day I will get daring and try the turtle soup. We loved Carmody's! This place is super cute! We sat outside because it was a beautiful day but it had a sheltered patio incase it did happen to rain! The waitress was amazing! Super kind & had great recommendations! Everyone around us had the fried zucchini so we had to order & it did not disappoint! The breading was so thin & flaky! We have been going to Carmody's not too frequently for years. We like to sit at the bar and have a beer with our food. For the most part our servers have been "old school" pro's. They recognize you and make sure you are well taken care of. This visit was a big disappointment. The two appetizers (onion rings and pickle chips) were good. I asked the server what the vegetable was and was told it was a mix of broccoli, cauliflower... I ordered the crab cakes accompanied by vegetables and wild rice. I got crab cakes with white rice and green beans with garlic. Or was it garlic with a few green beans? I pointed out the discrepancy from what I read on the menu and what I got and was told (by a server that was new to me) that it should have been changed on the menu but wasn't. I asked for a side plate to remove the garlic with green beans off of my main plate. I did so without an offer from my server to provide a substitute. I didn't "push" my disappointment, but it was pretty evident I was not pleased. I supplemented my dinner with some fries from my partners plate. We left this visit underwhelmed and $88.00 poorer. I will be hard pressed to return anytime soon. read more

Dined in with a group of approximately 20 and had a horrible experience. They sat us in the private room (not the bar area) we were the only ones in there which was nice. The bar was not very busy . We had two servers who treated our group like separate parties instead of one big group. I have never experienced service like this where the servers don't work together to tend to the entire group! Our food came out in 3 stages.... therefore, part of our party had their food and ate before the rest of us even ordered! The last group received their food way after everyone else everybody in our party was ready to leave. None of the appetizers came out as appetizers rather they came out with the meals. It seemed that the more experienced server did a great job and brought things out promptly but the other server who seemed to have more of the bulk of the group had a hard time keeping up. We had to ask for everything, no one came back to see if the food was OK. Speaking of food the burger was a little disappointing didn't have a ton of flavor and for the price the side of fries was extremely small! I would just say the food was OK in general.... A little on the pricier side for small portions. The appetizers, however, were amazing but like I said, it would've been nice to have them as a true appetizer. The breading on the fried pickles and zucchini was nice and light and crispy! And the ranch was a good quality homemade ranch. read more

We visited here over the holidays and had a great experience. Our server, Ron (I believe his full first name is Sharon) was delightful. He gave helpful recommendations from the menu and also took great care of my daughter who was feeling poorly and just needed some cucumbers to feel better. I had the hot sausage sandwich, which was undercooked more than I would like, but Ron handled it like a pro and brought it back in a short time and it was perfect. I wish I could remember what everyone else ate! There were five of us, and we all got something different, and everyone left feeling satisfied and happy. I came here in the summer, and truly was not impressed, however it may have just been a poor waitress experience because I just remembered leaving very disappointed as I had to wait for everything and they weren't very busy at all. Tonight's dinner was on point and my server was absolutely amazing I wish I could remember her name she had dark hair and I tipped generously because she truly made an excellent dinner even better! I had the seafood bisque, and a delicious wild mushroom ravioli with a gorgonzola sauce. The Brownbetty(?) dessert was absolutely incredible with just the perfect amount of crisp. Loved it. The food was awesome, the service was outstanding, and I enjoyed the ambiance. My oldest son was with my wife down the road playing in a hockey tournament. Me and the three-year-old needed to eat. I was reluctant at first with the young kid, but was pleasantly surprised that, at least during the day (not sure about night), it was welcoming for families.
