I went to Rudy's for the first time the other day late night after my friend and got off of work early. He wanted me to try the chicken here with extra season. I got the 2 piece dark with fries, bread, hot pepper and pickles, and he got chicken tenders with his. The only sides they give you our fries with your order after a certain time. Generously seasoned chicken, fries, bread, pickles, and peppers are a winning combination, even if it doesn't sound like it to the virgin Oak Cliff ears! Well the chicken is definitely on point. However, have your mind right when you go - meaning don't be too hungry (long wait), and don't expect the minimum level of customer service you get from any chain restaurant. Rudy's has twin drive-thrus (similar to McD's). When I went on a regular Wednesday around 2, they all of a sudden stopped taking orders from the left drive-thru when it was my turn. I watched 6 cars on the right side go ahead of me. No one ever came out to put up an out-of-order sign. Yet how could it be OOO when during the 20 minute wait prior to getting to the order box, I watched them take orders for anyone else in the left drive-thru. Anyway I finally had to take out my cell and call. It's not like I got an apology or any type of explanation when the I explained what was going on outside - just told to drive on up to the pay window.
