I needed to have an iguana removed from inside the house. I called lots of places but none were in this area so no one was willing to come here. I called Rudy's and the person I spoke with said they could do it. He sent a person this afternoon and in less than 15 minutes he caught the reptile. The worker was efficient, polite and obviously knowledgeable about the business of catching reptiles. He explained everything to me and I could tell he really cared about my kids safety which was very kind. He even helped me clean up the garbage outside which absolutely blew me away. The inspector didn't know anything about landscape pests, was at the property for 10 minutes, and then gave us a recommendation to fertilizer trees at a cost of more than $2,000. Our gardener did the job for $400. For that consultation they charged us $125. Be warned ... they may know home pests but they know nothing about landscape pests. read more

This review is for the "Plant Health" division at Rudy's Termite and Pest Control. I hired Sonny Klimowicz to provide a plant health report. This is the kind of report they offer -https://www.rudyspest.com/plant-health-care/greenrate-inspections/ He came to my property and wrote a report. After that, I hired him and Rudy's Termite and Pest to perform a "Deep Root Fertilization" where they stick a probe in the ground to deliver liquid fertilizer to trees and bushes. In this case it cost nearly $500 for 21 bushes and two citrus trees. Shortly after they did the application (the day after) both my citrus trees perished. Their leaves drooped, shrivled and fell off. I contacted Sonny, and after getting frustrated with his response, went straight to their management to get the trees replaced. They asked me to provide before/after photos of my trees, and provide three estimates from three different nurseries. I did all of that. Then they asked me to sign a release waiver, relieving them of liability. Evans Lane Nursery came to plant an orange tree, and a lime tree. They planted the orange tree with the root flare 4 inches below the surface. I was concerned and called other nurseries in the area and was told that this would cause the tree to be deprived of oxygen and that it would eventually kill the tree. I called Rudy's Pest to let them know the tree was not looking good, and could they please deal with Orlando at Evans Lane who shouted at me and said "You're just a difficult customer!" when I told him the tree was not doing well and that it was probably due to the tree being planted too deep. At this point, I'm out of a tree thanks to the "Plant Health" services Rudy's Pest Control provides. They've stopped responding to my emails and there seems to be no guarantee that they will replace the tree if it dies. Before all of this happened, my citrus trees were doing fine. However, alot of blood, sweat, tears and $$$ went into those trees to keep them healthy and happy. They had to be moved and replanted due to sun and wind exposure, irrigation was put in, etc, etc. So after they finally had found their happy place, they were killed by deep root fertilization by Rudy's Plant Division, and not replaced in a way that leaves me with a healthy tree that will survive. I have nothing good to say about the experience with Rudy's Pest Control and their Plant Health Services at this point. If they decide to remedy the situation and do the right thing, I'll update my review. read more

I'm not afraid of snakes. Carful, yes. That said, when I stepped within inches of a rattlesnake in our yard, a four foot diamond back, I knew I needed a little help. I called Rudy's, a well run company who we use for pest control. The call taker worked the problem with me like a 911 dispatcher and she sent Mario to our house. Mario is the company's main "snake man". He is good at what he does. He was careful and gentle with the animal, and most understanding of all the drama the snake caused for our family and pets. He calmed the agitated creature by giving it time and distance, then grabbed it, bagged it, and took it to its new home out in the desert, well off the beaten path. When I first moved here I was traumatized by bugs I had never seen before in my life. I have been with Rudy's for over 10 years and I have used them on all of the properties I have flipped. The only complaint I had and I want to specify this is past tense is the turnover of their pest control techs. It was a revolving cycle of techs every few months which was very frustrating as I would have to explain all over again what we needed, what we didn't need and the importance of the safety of my dogs and not leaving the gate open for them to run out. When you allow someone in your home around your kids, pets and belongings you want to have an element of trust and comfort that can only be established with regularity of the same tech. There were times when various technicians did leave the gate open, sprayed furniture or were just lazy and I actually left the company for a little while going with another company but I ended coming back thinking a 2nd chance was deserving as I had been with them so long. I am so glad I did. Everything changed when Alex the new technician came on board. I expressed all of my frustrations with him and he assured me he was not going anywhere and he would prove to me the company was worth my business and that he would provide the best customer service possible. I can honestly say, he has kept every word. Awesome communication in that he texts me to schedule all appointments and then typically follows up with a reminder. He takes his time covering all of the areas inside and outside being careful not to get overspray on furniture and walls. He is super responsible with my dogs. Gate has never once been left open and he doesn't just loosely spray random spots, he actually covers the property really well. Most importantly, he is really friendly and takes pride in his work ethic and his customer service skills, both of which are A++. I wanted to leave this review for both the potentially new customers and the old ones because reviews are really important and I think Rudy's has really changed for the better and I can attest this to Alex. He is the reason I am a customer so if you are thinking of using Rudy's for pest control service I highly recommend you request Alex as your Pest Control Service Technician. 1000% you will see he is the unicorn of techs. Rudy YOU WEREN'T EVEN THERE and YOU are clueless about "what was explained to the owner".......ME. Because I met with JEFF who was in my home, NOT YOU. We found it very interesting that Jeff's name was nowhere in his inspection documents. When your person came back to treat the house, my husband was told to move all our packed boxes to the center of the room. Believe me if your company had offered to do it for him, he would have taken you up on that offer in a New York Second. I waited to post because our experience of selling this home was not a good one all around and I needed time to remove any emotion from sharing our experience with your company before posting. 9/13/2018 Final Update: Talk about making things right. I have to say my first negative impression has been totally changed. I appreciate the manager Ruben reaching out to correct the problem. His technicians Frank and Joe were timely, neat in uniform, professional and knowledgeable. I felt confident in their assessment. Thank you for making things right. Update: I am giving them a chance to make it right since mistakes do happen. I changed rating to 3 stars now since they were responsive to my criticism and they promptly followed through with the appointment. We have some additional appointment set up and a plan to get this done. I will post final update later. Wow really bad customer service. Started off fine - got an appointment for someone to check home for rodent inspection since we could hear them up in ceiling/attic area. We had our home serviced by them a few years ago so I expected good service. Well the guy did come & set some traps and said he will be in touch to remove traps. 5 days later nothing. So I called and they actually connected me with the person who had come out, who acknowledged that he does need to come back to remove traps he put down. He & I discussed setting 3 traps over the course of several months in our backyard hillside so it could be rodent free too. He said he will call back with when he is able to comeback. Our first home buyers inspection took 15 mins and we discovered termites 2 months later. They say they probably came after the inspection. We were not told their warranty isn't covered if there had been previous termite termination. We had them in for another inspection he was here for 10 mins. We subsequently had another company in that found 2 other areas that require attention. Rudy's found none. Rarely do I ever leave a negative review but after sitting on this for a few days I decided it was something I was going to do. When I bought this house in 2017 I had an amazing pest control service who I loved and trusted. He came every 3 months, sprayed for ants, spiders etc, came in between if needed which was rarely, knocked down wasp nests as my daughter is scared of them etc. Sadly he had to give up his business and I was transferred over to Rudys pest control with the same services as I had. The first service we had the gentleman was in and out in maybe 5 minutes. I had to message them back because I still had ant trails on my property line. No biggie. It happens. Whatever. They came back out promptly to respray and it took care of it. 2nd time they came out was fine. Last week the gentleman messaged me on Tuesday he would be out on Wednesday. I explained my kid had covid. He was 6 days in and I was negative so I would not be meeting him at the door but would leave my gate unlocked so he could just spray the backyard and outside so he wouldn't have to have contact with me. He came and went. Thursday, my 12 week old puppy was out back to go to the bathroom. we have some logs that line our side walk area and she was standing on 1 in the rock area we have as my daughter was watching her and then saw something crawling and puppy went to sniff or lick it as my daughter yelled no... She started shaking her head nonstop and vomiting. Her face swelled up, lip rock hard and she went into anaphylaxis reaction. We rushed her to the ER vet. We believe she may have ate a black widow spider from the log back there. Thankfully, after many hours, she survived, The next day I went out back and saw many spider webs all over the back yard area some with active widows in them.... So on Saturday I messaged Rudys. I was polite. I explained the situation. I wasn't asking for Rudys to pay for my vet bill. I realize it is outside and there is going to be spiders. critters and such. But I was trying to figure out if it takes a while for the spray to kick in, do I need someone to come back out and spray more or what. This was a mere 3 days after being sprayed after all. I saw my message was was opened and read that day and figured great! I waited for a response. I realized it was the weekend. I get it. Plus I am contending with my puppy who still had some swelling. Monday I check my message and it's listed as resolved. No one called me, no one emailed me, no one texted me, nothing. No response. Nothing. So I waited until Tuesday thinking maybe it was listed as resolved because someone was going to call me that day to answer my question. Nope. So Tuesday I called and canceled my service. To say I am disappointed is an understatement. I just can't believe not a single person could take 5 minutes to make a single phone call to let me know whether or not I needed someone to come back and respray or not.
