My son's beautiful service dog was absolutely butchered at Ruff Cuts. I spoke with Lauren prior to services and specifically and clearly told her I wanted my dog's hair to be like a Labrador. I wanted her hair to be evened up and all the same length... like a lab's. On average a lab's hair measures 1.5 inches. Lauren said no problem, she will shave it. I said great and I left. I returned to find my dog absolutely butchered. She looked like a lion. Her head was left untouched, as was her tail. Her body was buzzed down to 1/4 inch. As seen in pictures below, her head was not blended at all. I kept my cool. I'm standing there with my autistic son, I'm talking myself down from crying. I paid. I left. My husband immediately brings our dog back to talk to Lauren. Lauren says this haircut was my fault. Lauren maintains that she told me the dog would be "shaved." She says the word "shaved" means crew cut, and I agreed to that. I believe she told me my dog would be shaved to resemble a lab's coat, as I JUST clearly asked for. This would be like going to the salon, asking to have your hair cut to your shoulders, just for the stylist to suggest and perform a crew cut instead. I am so upset, not only by the cut, but by the way this was handled. Lauren refuses to refund my money and says I can speak to the owner when she returns from vacation in a week and a half. read more

The picture of my golden retriever says more than my words ever could. Wife requested the dog to have the haircut to labrador length which would be 1-3 inches long. My dogs torso was completely shaved while the tail and head were left alone. The head was completely unblended. When I spoke to Lauren she reiterated it was my wifes fault. Upon inspecting my golden further, the ears were still greasy and uncleaned. Im absolutely furious with how this service was performed on my dog. read more

Amazing groomer, but even more so the people here actually care about your animals. Lauren does a great job! I would highly recommend.

Took my wire haired terrier to get washed, deshedded and groomed at Ruff Cuts for the first time. He came out looking great. I will definitely go back when he starts shedding again. The price was reasonable too, less than at other places in the area. read more

I take my 2 dogs and they do a wonderful job every time. Stuff are very nice and polite! I got to say one thing , even if they messed up a little bit o well who cares I don't care the hair will grow back up, my dogs don't have to go to a Beaty contest any way! People need to start being human beings and understand nothing is perfect!!! They do a great job period!! read more

I wish i could give this place 0 stars. This is our 2nd time bringing in our Golden Retriever to this groomer. Our first experience was good, nice service, nice cut and groom The 2nd time was a couple weeks ago and I am horrified as to how my dog looks. At my consultation with the groomer, we talked about how she needed a bath, light trim and nails cut. I specifically said "not shaved or anything" just an all over light trim. My dog came out completely shaved all but her head and tail. She is 10 years old. We have been to other groomers before and she has NEVER looked like she did coming out. I was appalled, horrified and angry. My 3 children who were with me actually started crying when they saw her because she looked so different and horrible. The groomer told me this "was not shaved" but their longest setting on the their trimmer. When I said, usually groomers just use scissors on her, she said "you didn't say you wanted scissors" I didn't know I needed to specify the tools to be used on my dog! I have never had to specifically say "use scissors" on my dog. She tried telling me that she had matting under her legs - I'm sure she did - most groomers either cut or trim those areas - not her ENTIRE body!! I said I should have been called before a cut like this was done. The cut isn't even done nicely. There are lumps and bumps and uneven hair. I refused to pay the $70 they wanted to charge me for this butcher job and requested to speak to the manager who was not in. She did call and leave me a message defending her groomer and told me she didn't know what else I wanted from her since I didn't pay. I would have accepted an apology or some recognition that this was wrong. This is horrible customer service. A dog groomer would know that it is not healthy or safe for a golden retriever to be cut like this. She now does not have her undercoat which protects her from the sun and heat. She is a dog that loves to be outside and playing with her family. Unfortunately, I will have to limit her time outside until her hair grows back significantly to protect her. DO NOT bring your dog here. Edit: I see another golden had this happen to another family recently. This is not ok!! read more

I've lived this way for about 2years now. I found this groomer because they are connected to my vet. I love them. The only reason they got 4 stars is because everytime I take my dog in, it's a different price. Not by much, they either charge me $35 or $40 and I have a small shih tzu mixed with a bichon. They alway do a great job and it's done in a timely fashion! read more

We have been sending our dogs here for 3 years now. We had no problems until lately. We had a bad experience with one of the workers 2 cuts ago who cut our shih tzu's ears all the way up to the actual ear (which any professional would know that this breed of a dog keeps the ears long) and the tail to the thinnest straight line they could cut. She also cut her nose out (which shih tzus have a pushed in nose) and formed a snout. We let it ago and warned them to not cut her like that again. The next time we went they did her perfect just like we asked. Today we asked them to do the same as last time and she came out even worst then the first time they messed up. We will not be sending our dogs there again seeing that they are very unprofessional about the whole situation. Their staff needs to be better trained. Also, this isn't about the cutting, but we are not sure they let the dogs out enough when they are getting cut because we were informed that one of our other dog peed on herself over 3 times. This could be because she is old, but you would think they would learn from this and let her out more since we are paying them to take care of our dogs when getting groomed. read more

This is the second time I've brought my German Shepard mix here to be groomed and I have nothing bad to say. I love that it's located right in the same building as my vet. There always very nice and my dog comes home happy and smelling great! Since my dog koda is a German Shepard I don't like to get her hair cut at all but she sheds like crazy so they always recommend getting her brushed with there special defurminator brush. It really helps with all that extra hair! I like to get her teeth cleaned and everything else taken care of as well. The prices are very reasonable and I have no complaints I will continue to go there for my dog koda and soon for my growing pup chase :) read more
