Stella the Dog goes to Ruffit when she's not in Memphis. She's always pulling me to get there. We are there early, If I could, I could let her out the office door and she'd be at their door on a minute. Which is great. Nice she likes to go there, and the staff pays attention to her and all the other dogs. A great place. I recommend them. Thank you all for what you do. read more

We had our golden retriever groomed here two days ago for the first time, and it will be the last. They asked we drop him at 9. We call at 2:30 and they hadn't yet started. Yes, we probably should have asked but the groomers we've used in the past spent several hours working on our dogs. While we expect they can't work on each dog as soon as dropped, I wouldn't choose if informed to have my dog sitting in a cage for six hours. But we didn't say anything and were totally pleasant, again owning our part in not having asked. They ultimately spent a little over an hour's time on him and yikes! They cut the feathers off his legs entirely despite us specifically instructing to leave them and just trim. You can see harsh cut marks of the hair at his chest. Fortunately it will all grow back in short time and we can happily find a different groomer. read more

I have had multiple negative experiences at this company. I originally wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt but realize it is all rooted in poor management. My most recent experience included a very poor grooming service which caused me to return my dog to the location for the grooming to be done properly. When I spoke to the manager Kira to calmly express my dissatisfaction she repeated that I would need to pay for the cut as if I hadn't already, or as if I would be charged twice. I told her this was fine and realized a few minutes in she was attempting to make me upset or cause me to react emotionally so I would just leave. (My experience with Kira and the groomer made it clear that they both wanted to get through their Friday and go home as soon as possible) Realizing her poor attempt at aggravating an already disappointing service experience, I smiled and explained that I was not willing to double pay for a service that her company offered and was unable to provide, but had no issue paying for the original service I paid for. She repeatedly tried to tell me I wasn't charged (which I was) and even brought out the groomer who did the terrible job to further explain. The two then tried to convince me that in the seven years I've owned my dog, I should be made aware that dogs coats can't be cut even. This was news to me since one could imagine how many times my shihtzu has been groomed during his life. At a certain point I had to wonder if Kira expected me to become belligerent because I am a black woman. There was even a point when she spouted such nonsense that I simply stared at her smiling, wondering how such an incompetent employee could have risen to management without the ability to diffuse situations and satisfy customers unhappy with the service Ruffit provides. Nonetheless I will never know the answer. I initially requested the cut be done up to par, but based off of my interaction with management and the groomer, feared for the safety of my best friend under their watch and requested he be returned to me. I was told Kira returned the charge she claimed never existed and I will be driving PetSmart going forward for all grooming. Ruffit is only a block away from my home in Uptown, however PetSmart provided exceptional, organized service throughout the pandemic and although they are a large chain, prove to have more competent employees than those working at Ruffit. Not to mention the grooming service done by PetSmart was exceptionally better than that of employees under Kira's management. read more

Please beware- my dog recently got kennel cough at this location. I've given this City Vet location two chances with boarding/vet visits and unfortunately have been disappointed both times, and this most recent visit has put my dog in critical condition. I understand there is an increased risk at any boarding facility, but I highly encourage places like Riffit by CityVet to be transparent about the illnesses that have been present in their boarding facility- instead of phrasing it with an upfront warning that they can't be held liable if our pets do come back sick... When asked if they are taking any extra sanitary precautions, they were unable to answer clearly. The first visit I asked my dog to see the vet while at boarding. I never received a call from anyone to explain a diagnosis/treatment/prognosis, but uptown pick up I was given a variety of prescribed medicines (at a alarming cost). The kind girls at the desk weren't able to let me know any details of the visit, but advised to call the vet back tomorrow. When I did, I was never connected with the Vet who performed the exam-- was just told "it was an infection". Extremely disappointed with the lack of transparency, professionalism and ethics at the CityVet location. Please do better for the safety and love for our animals. read more

We just had a terrible experience here. We usually get our dog, Skye, groomed by Aubrey who does a fantastic job. We had an appointment with Aubrey but she was sick so we decided to keep our appointment and use another groomer. That was a disastrous decision. Our dog was not groomed, she was shaved! And they didn't even do that well. Her face is longer on one side than the other. Top that with the snarky and rude attitude of Isabell the receptionist, and if it weren't for Aubrey, I would never return. Word of advice, if you have a good groomer, stick with them because some of them learned to groom on a sheep shearing farm. UPDATE: Ruffit reached out and is doing everything to make right. We have definitely seen some of the things mentioned in these reviews during our 10+ years of using this CityVet & Ruffit location. As we have also seen the staff evolve over these years. To some it is obviously just a part-time summer job & to others you can see it is their passion. We have nothing but GREAT things to say about vet Dr. Murphy and groomer Pamela. I have taken my dog to stay while my husband and I were on travel twice. The first time we brought her back she was listless and throwing up. However, we had gotten her some shots while she was there and we figured it might be a reaction to the shots. The second time we brought her to stay was last week. When we picked her up she was obviously not well. She wouldn't eat and we found out this week from out vet that she has kennel cough. It cost us $250 to get her an iv hydration and other medicine. Definitely bring your dog here for grooming if you want them there for nearly 10 hours. Also, come here if you'd like outstanding updates regarding the time your dog will be finished. At 1230 pm I was told 2-3 hours ( my dog had already been there for 5 hours at that point). Then at 330 I was told another 1-2 hours. The lady on the phone said "don't worry she'll be done soon!" As if 9 hours and 40 minutes Is "soon". I finally received a call at 520 pm that my dogs grooming was finished. Oh and my dog who will not go potty in the rain went number one and number two right away during a monsoon and then came home and chugged water. Assuming she was never let out or given water but I'm sure the workers took bathroom breaks and definitely a lunch break. :) read more

This place has management issues! Recently, just about all staff disappeared! Now down to just one groomer, possibly hiring a second. Grooming entrance is often closed at the posted opening time, because the front desk staff change weekly, if not daily, and there's no one there to open the place up! New hires often don't even know how to write up an appointment. Today, I showed up 15 minutes after opening time, and was told that the one and only dog washer had an emergency. (The staff are prone to emergencies.) No problem, but I did ask if I had a message on my phone. "Nope. I was going to call you." To end on a positive note, they do one thing consistently well. The service is extremely wishy washy. I used to love this place until I've started noticing small things and now a BIG thing. My dog has never been nervous to goto daycare and recently he has been running back to me when I drop him off. Today was my last straw when I saw two groomers yelling at these little doodles then I saw one hit the doodle multiple times. Not only was she hitting him, she yanked it's ear back so hard that the poor pup was yelping and crying, which only made her continue to yell at it and smack it. She was also making nasty remarks to her colleague about people who bring their anxious dogs to get groomed. The other groomer saw me observing and went to close the door. The staff is very friendly and LOVES animals. I have 2 dogs and we see Dr Murphy. Dr. Murphy is the BOMB.. very knowledgeable and good with pet owners. We used to see Nora in grooming. I do love getting my dogs groomed here. I used to take my dogs to day play, but there are A LOT of dogs in day play. If your dog is coming back scared etc, it's only because she is getting socialized. My animals are so small I do not send them to this spot. Overall, I would recommend the Vet clinic. My smallest dog broke her leg and the staff always held her and was so kind to us. read more

Despite what the person on the phone told me when I set up the appointment (which they rescheduled three times on me), these people DO NOT know how to groom cats. They charged me $150 to basically shave my cat's belly, which they did a terrible job on. Not to mention that I had to wait nearly 30 minutes when I arrived to pick her up because the guy at the desk "didn't work with cats" as if they needed a specialist to grab a cat from the back. When I called them the next day to ask for a second appointment to actually groom my cat they informed me that it was an "all or nothing" deal where they either entirely shave my cat or they don't groom her at all... absolutely ridiculous. I took my dog here several times for daycare and boarding - before I found a new place that I like much better. More than once, my dogs tags fell off her collar while she was there (this has never happened outside of these incidents), and no employees noticed - how closely are they really watched during play time? She always came home irritated and anxious - which is never how she acts after coming home from our new place. Overall - she was fine for the most part under their care, but there are much better options in the area for the same price. read more

Multiple times I have boarded my dog here, once about 8 months ago and again in January, February and March. When I have picked him up, he has had either urine or dried feces on him, this last time both, and all four of his legs were actually yellow. It took the assistant manager 3 days to call me back and leave me a message that she was leaving for the day but I could call her tomorrow if I still wanted to talk about it. No thank you! The staff here is nice but I do not recommend their grooming services. I use CityVet so came here out of convenience. I met with the groomer in person and told her that I just wanted his snout TRIMMED. When he came out, I didn't even realize he was my dog. I was told they had to use the shortest trimmer because he was moving around a lot. If that were the case, a simple call to ask whether they should leave it or proceed with shaving EVERYTHING would've been helpful before making such a drastic change. read more

As some of you know.....I'm a pet lover...the most extreme level there is. I will rescue the dog drowning before I rescue the human drowning next to him. My pets get spoiled rotten and I plan on growing old with 34681736 dawgies :) You can imagine how hard it is as a a mommy to leave my lil Kasey with strangers when I go out of town....especially not knowing how much attention she will get, what she will get to sleep on and keep warm, etc. etc. etc.....I always cry. (Iknow, it's a little silly). SO...having said all that, you may get just how awesome it is that this place gets a 5 star rating out of me. (pausing for all the "Oooohhh!"'s and "Wooow!"'s). The staff here is SO friendly....which is Numero Uno importante to me...if you're not, then you wont be watching my pooch, that's fo sho. They are so helpful in explaining all your options for your pups stay, and they remember you and your pet's name after the first visit, I'm a big fan of that. They have all sorts of perks to give your pet while you are gone....extra one-on-one play time, dawgy massages, time up front in a special little room where they can watch people all day...and SO much more. Their prices are EXTREMELY reasonable, too...I left my dog there for 7 days....got her some massages, some grooming, extra play time, etc...and expected to pay like $300 or more. It was barely over $100....(pausing for gasps and people to return to their chairs after falling out). You want more? ok....They do things a little differently here. They put your dog in a room FULL of other dogs for them to play with all day long....always supervised, of course....with toys and couches and stuff like that. Big dawgs are together, and lil dawgs are together. They get walked a couple times a day and have their lil meal times :) And to top it all off?? They have web cams in every room, so at ANY time during the day, you can go online to their site and check on your lil one!!! I loved checking on Kasey every day and find her playing with other lil dawgy's. It was so cute! Do you have a cat?? They have this little Cat Loft room where al the kitty cats play all day....they definitely are pampered in the way ALL cats feel they deserve...and you know EXACTLY what I'm talking about...snobby lil boogers... You can also just take your dog there for the day if you want, or just to be groomed. They also have a vet clinic attached, so..you know....ANOTHER POINT! Knowing your pet is having just as much fun as you are on vacation is something I never though I would find...and I have found it, and I just love these people. When I went to pic Kasey up, she came outside and of course was excited to see me, but then ran right back to the employee and was like "Ok, lets go back in the playroom now!". I feel at peace leaving him here since it's attached to a vet's office, should he need anything. Staff is incredibly nice and make it easier leaving my fur-baby as easy as it can be. I absolutely love this place. I love the people, the service, the attention they give Darby - they even have web cams so you can go online and see your pup playing in day care! Every time we walk in, the staff is super excited to see Darby -- they love on her and take amazing care of her. They take the dogs out for multiple walks/playtime every day, on top of Doggie Day Care (if you opt for it). I love the little report cards they send home with her telling me what other dogs she played with, what snacks she likes, what games she enjoys playing... precious. Oh - they even send her home with a little dog treat filled Easter basket, and give them special meals on Thanksgiving. How great is that?! On a more practical level, they are connected to City Vet so if for some reason Darby needs medical attention it's just right next door. And it makes it super convenient when she needs her exams or shots, as they can do everything while she's already there for the weekend. I've taken Darby other places, and don't have half as many nice things to say about any of them as I do about The Dog Lofts. I recommend it to all of my friends with pets, and won't take Darby anywhere else as long as I live in Dallas. read more

I cannot say enough great things about the Dog Lofts (Uptown location)! I took my pup there for boarding and day play. From the moment I walked in, I felt great about this place. They came to the front of the counter to pet her and love on her. This really helped me overcome my anxiety of boarding Kaya. It turns out that she had a VERY upset stomach when I dropped her off. Hadley and Gwen at the front desk called me periodically to update me on her status. They took such great care of her while I was out of town for work. I loved how they were able to tell me how she was interacting with the other dogs. They also kept telling me how cute and sweet she was. Way to win a mom over! :) Their friendly smiles and warm pet-loving totally won me over! I will be back here often. Highly recommended! read more

The people seemed nice, the place was clean and the price was great so we figured we'd be ok! I will NOT go back here again! We left our dog there for 2 days. They said he would get 4 walks a day. I picked him up and they said everything was fine. I drove him 5 blocks home. The second he got in the house he ran outside and proceeded to go #2 10 times. It was solid and an indication that he wasn't sick but just hadn't gone #2 since we dropped him off. How do they not make note that he hadn't gone?! Why didn't they let me know?! I know dogs get nervous and don't go but they should have noted it and said something. They should have spent extra time with him outdoors until he went to the bathroom. Poor pup.. :( read more

Having now moved to Dallas, The Dog Lofts is STILL my first choice for taking care of Charlie (which they do practically every work day). I can always check on the web cams, and I have seen people in there more than once when randomly checking, which tells me that they are in there often enough to keep things clean and monitor it well enough to keep things under control. When Charlie ripped into the Christmas presents and ate a whole bunch of chocolate, I took him to City Vet, which is attached to the Dog Lofts. When I called to learn his status, I was told that the folks at the Dog Lofts, upon hearing what had happened, had come down to check on him. That's what I call awesome. read more

I had my doodle groomed here and won't be going back. When I made the appointment it was for a specific time. They then sent me a text a day before to confirm appt and to inform that pickup was between 7a-10a. I dropped my dog off just before 8a. The girl that checked me in couldn't have been less interested to be at work. I then called to check up on my dog at 3p since I hadn't heard anything from them all day. They informed me that he had not yet been groomed. So basically my dog had sat in a cage for 7 hours at that point. I would not have taken my dog here if I'd have known he was going to sit in a crate all day....I could've brought him in at the time he was going to be groomed. Horrible way to run your business. The groom wasn't bad and it wasn't great. I won't be going back here and do not recommend this place to anyone else. Go elsewhere. read more

Ruffit is the most unorganized boarding place I have taken my dog to. Staff does not know the dog's names or any of their information, even when their file is right in front of them. Every time you drop off your dog there is room full of people waiting to get their dogs checked in- they have no organization or good system to check-in dogs. Their lack of organization during check-in and lack of organization with files makes me worry that my dog is not being taken care of well during boarding. When I picked my dog up, staff didn't report how she was, if she ate well... anything. I don't even know how many times she was let out... it seemed like she wasn't even walked or anything. I want to start this review off by saying the CitVet veterinarian's office is amazing and my dog will continue to see Dr. Murphy. However, I will no longer be using the Ruffit by CityVet for grooming. This is based off of 3 visits. My first experience, I was told when booking an appointment that drop off is between 7am and 10am and they work on a first come, first serve basis. Meaning the earlier I drop my dog off, the sooner he will get done. My boyfriend dropped him off first at 7am and he was not done until 2pm. When we asked why it took so long, they said the groomers don't arrive until 9. Still doesn't make since, if they truly go off of their "first come, first serve" policy. We we the first to drop our dog off so he should've been first to be groomed at 9. You're telling me it took you 5 hours to bath and groom my 15lb short haired dog? On top of that after we got home and we're examining our dog, I found an area near his tail where the groomer had nipped him and left a mark. The 2nd experience only happened after Ruffit started allowing for appointments instead of the first come first serve policy. We asked for a different groomer, and he was in and out in 2 hours looking AMAZING. The only reason I am giving this place 2 stars instead of 1. We were very satisfied. Now we get to the 3rd experience. I call and am told they are back to the drop off in the morning, first come, first serve policy. This should've been where I backed out, but I figured I'd give the place another chance since our most recent experience had been so great. Bad choice. Once again we drop our dog off at exactly 7am. At 2 o'clock, we still haven't heard from them so we call. They say he's just now being taken back and should be done in about an hour. Why is he just now getting taken back when he was the first dog in the place?? Now it's 3:30 and still no word so I call again. They tell me he was done 30 minutes ago. I ask why no one called us to let us know, and they say it's because they told us he'd be done in about an hour last time we called. Never a good strategy to blame the customer when you make a mistake. When I ask what was the point of dropping him off so early when they don't even follow the first come first serve policy, I am told it's because they are so busy with the reopening after quarantine. Being busy should not matter in this instance unless we dropped him off at 10 and he was the last dog on their list. I dropped him off first before anyone else, he should've been the first one done. On top of that, he was starving when we got home since hadn't eaten all day being stuck at the groomers for 8 HOURS. And to add insult to injury, the next day we found a flea on our dog who does not have any history of fleas. We will not be returning to Ruffit and I would not even recommend it to my worst enemy. I love my puppies...they are basically my kids. I'm new to The D so I did some research before I left my puppies with anyone. I tried a pet/house sitter...but she was lame. She was hot, but lame. Anyway, dropped of the puppies for a four day stay and the team at Dog Lofts shredded. They automacially loved my puppies and gave me daily/ hourly updates. My dogs didn't die, starve, catch on fire, or get addicted to meth. All is good at Dog Lofts...they run a tight ship. Oh...also, my older puppy (11 yrs) had a gross CoCo Puff growing out of her face and the vet took care of it right away. It just happened a day or two before I dropped them off, so don't freak out. I have been taking my dog here to be groomed for over a year. Here is the process you can expect. Step 1: Call and try to make an appointment. Sometimes they answer, sometimes you'll get a voicemail. Step 2: Unless you take your dog to their vet, they'll tell you your dog is not up to date on his or her shots. Step 3: Call your vet and ask them to fax over shot records. Step 4: Call the Dog Lofts back and make sure they've received the shot records. Nearly every time I've called, they say "No, we don't see anything." They will also mention that the fax machine is in the vet office and not in the grooming area. Those 20 feet are too far to walk, so they will say they will call you back after they check. They will not call you back, I assure you. They have told me this four times and I have yet to receive a call back. Step 5: As your appointment gets nearer, you'll start to freak out that they won't see your dog because they still haven't received the shot records. Step 6: Call your vet again. Step 7: Call Dog Lofts again. And so on. I have my dog groomed here every three months and it takes between 5-8 phone calls each time. They require Bordetella shots be done every six months, which is a good thing, but it's also often enough to nearly always require new copies of shot records. It's a terrible, terrible experience. If you're going to get your dog groomed here, there are two options: Take your dog to their vet so your shot records are in their system OR go to your vet office, have them print out paperwork, and bring it in with you. Making that extra trip is annoying, but it will make your life much easier. In regards to the actual grooming, they're great. Their prices are the lowest I've found outside of Petsmart. They have never made my dog bleed and she always looks great. If they could make the above process better, I would continue to go here. But as things are now, I would rather find someplace a little more organized. read more

There are so many options of places to take your dog to daycare or boarding in town how do you choose? I take my dogs here for boarding mainly because it is the most convenient spot based on where I live. The front desk staff always seems like they have something else they'd rather be doing but once you become a regular they warm up a little. I never see any of the dogs playing outside which stinks! I do love their grooming though, particularly JD. He is SO great with my dogs and they're always so happy to see him. You can tell JD really loves what he does, it shows! read more

If I could give this zero stars I would. We took our golden there to be groomed. I dropped him off at 9:30 and they said the groomer would give me a call for instructions on the cut we would like. They also said he would be done at 5. Well 4:30 PM rolls around and I haven't heard a thing, so I gave them a call. They told me they were unable to actually groom my dog because he didn't like the razor. My dog has NEVER had this problem before. So I agreed that they could just trim him instead of the full cut. They again assured me I would receive a call when he was done and that I could pick him up at 5:30. Well 5:45 rolls around.. and you guessed it they hadn't called. My husband finally went to get him at 6:30 and they charged us the full $70 for his cut. Very unprofessional. NEVER GO THERE. read more

Our pet has stayed here multiple times. We choose this place over others primarily because of the prices. They do not have a large play area but I guess you get what you pay for. Employees have been very nice and seem attentive and respectful. All said, I do not recommend their bath services. They do not do a good job brushing. After our last visit, we ended up bathing our puppy again because his glands had not been expressed correctly, tons of loose hair, dirty ears, funky smell, etc. I called to request our money back (considering we had to pay again). After 5 days of continuous calls, the manager said he was not able to refund us but gladly provided a free bath service. Our puppy will board there again but we will take care of his bath at another place. read more

I have boarded my corgi here a handful of times over the last year (since he was born) and they always remember him and call him by name. They also comment on his eating habits and weight changes on occasion which shows me they pay at less some degree of attention to him. The staff is always superfriendly and have offered solutions on the few occasions I had complaints. Once he was going inside after I picked him up (he was young but potty trained) and they said I could request extra walks while he was in day play so he wouldn't go inside and get confused while there (they let the dogs go inside on the fake grass and clean up after them in day play). I thought it was cute that around V day they gave me a valentine from him and mailed a progress report after his last stay telling me his favorite activities/playmates/walker. Let me start by saying that I did not actually leave my dog here for daycare, but there are several reasons why I did not after taking a tour of the facility: - I was already a bit apprehensive because I had recently had a friend have her dog require ICU care after being attacked while at the Oaklawn location. Obviously fights happen, but the severity of the injuries made me worry that there was a complete lack of attention being given when it happened. But, I wanted to give the Uptown location its own chance. I understand how this could happen. They had one person in an area with several caged off play areas, one of which was completely over crowded. If a fight had happened, they would never be able to stop it in time to prevent real damage. - That leads into the next issue...this is uptown, space is limited, and that applies to the dog lofts as well. The play areas are TINY and are PACKED full of dogs, especially the small dog area. Lets be realistic here, there is no way they can really play with each other in so little space...they basically move around like a little heard of dogs from one side of the pen to the other. - The smell...oh the smell...now I did see them cleaning, and mopping and hosing things down, so I think they try. But there is no way in hades I was going to take my down to the play area that reeked of urine. I was standing outside of a closed door leading to the area, it was never opened, and the smell was still terrible. Its important to note that you cannot smell this up front which is probably why a lot of people aren't upset by the way the place smells. - On a positive note, the people there are very friendly, were happy to give me a tour of the place, and seem to really like the dogs. The also seem to make a real effort to keep the place clean, but I think because of the small size, overcrowding, and lack of outdoor play area for dogs to relieve themselves (they use a little fake grass pee pad), there is really no way to prevent that terrible odor. Basically, this place is VERY convenient if you live in uptown, the prices are good, and the staff seems very friendly. However, unless I'm in a real pinch and need to take her somewhere in a hurry, my little baby will never be doing daycare at this place. All I can picture is her getting hurt, coming home smelling of urine, or being miserable from spending all day packed in a tiny area with 30 other dogs. That risk is only worth it if there is no conceivable alternative available...and believe me, there are much better day cares if you're willing to drive a few miles. read more

The Dog Lofts is a wonderful place for your family's four-legged "child" to stay & play; or play & bathe; or just play! The Flower Mound Dog Lofts is a 2nd home for my Goldendoodle & Italian Greyhound/Collie. They know they will have a great time playing with other friendly dogs and and have watchful & caring attendants who constantly watch & play with them & give them hugs. My family had to move away from Flower Mound for approx. 1 year in a work related move. What was the biggest thing I missed? THE DOG LOFTS!! Bar-none! Good, reliable, dependable, clean, safe, knowledgeable, attentive care for your pet is very important to me. Not having that was devastating. I'm so grateful to live in Flower Mound again as having a wonderful facility like this is such a luxury so close by. I left my boxer at the Uptown location today, and have been watching the webcam most of the day as I work. I have not once seen a human in with the dogs. They are getting zero attention, and are not being properly observed - a person ought to be in there with them. Also, to make matters worse, there are 10+ dogs in the "big dog" area and they are all huddled near the gate/door. I suppose there are either humans outside of the gate or another dog area... they've not been playing at all - they are standing around staring at the gate. I cannot wait to pick him up :( I may try the Oak Lawn location, as the dogs are at least playing on their webcams... still no humans, but at least there are happier, more playful dogs. read more

We took our dog to the Dog Lofts for boarding and daily playtime while we were out of town. We had just moved to the area and we saw the reviews about Dog Lofts and figured it was worth a try. The girls at the front desk were nice but not overly "warm" towards us or our dog. I took a glance at the play area, and was very surprised to see it was just a concrete area with very few toys and not as big as we thought. But, it was clean and for being in a city, a fairly good size. The very next day we receive a call from the Dog Lofts stating our dog had an oral papilloma (a very contagious, but not dangerous, type of "wart" so to speak), and because of this he would not be allowed to remain in play time and had to be transported to the isolation ward. We were aware of the oral papilloma, but the vet we took him to never told us just how contagious it was. Being first time dog owners, this was our mistake and we absolutely understood him not being allowed to have contact with other dogs as it IS very contagious to dogs. We understood 100%, the Dog Lofts said they would transport him free of charge, and said he would still get several walks and one-on-one attention with a human while in isolation. When we came back from our trip we went to City Vet (where the isolation unit is) across the street to pick up our dog. When we got there and told them who we were there for, the girl at the front desk looked very confused and asked us several times what dog we were there for, both of our names, and other information about our dog. We told her all of this, and she still looked very confused. She then asked us if he was only boarded for one night, which we said was incorrect and that he has been at City Vet for 4 nights. The girl then told us "I have never heard of your dog being here". Of course, this led me to become very nervous, thinking all sorts of things could have happened to our dog. She then said she found our dog in the system, but that he "was not there" at City Vet. We told her what we were told by Dog Lofts, and after looking more closely at the computer said "Ohhhhhhhhhhhh yeah I see it now, he is here." She then started rambling some excuse about why she was unaware of our dog being there as she had not worked in a couple days...yet our dog had been at City Vet for 4 days. I then started questioning her to make sure SOMEONE knew he was back there and was taking care of him, as she put us under the impression that NO ONE knew he was there. She of course explainined that other people knew he was there (which I figured people would not just walk by a dog in a kennel and not see him/feed him, but being a little nervous already it took me a minute to calm down). She then sent someone back to get him, and he comes out and first thing I noticed once he calmed down was a big cut on his nose. I asked the Vet Tech that brought him out what happened, and he just said that is happens to a lot of dogs when they get excited while in the kennels and they scratch their nose on the door when they are trying to stick their nose underneath it. This cut was very red, and I said I wanted someone to come look at it to be extra sure. They assured me it was fine. However, we have boarded our dog several times at other places, and never once has he come back with a cut on his nose. To me, this means perhaps the kennels need to be changed in order to keep dogs from hurting themselves, since this "happens to lots of dogs". The lady at the front desk then told us none of his stuff was at City Vet, but was still at the Dog Lofts. This mean that his collar, harness, toys, and bone that we brought specifically to keep him company had not been with him this whole time. While it was nice that someone brought everything over from Dog Lofts to keep us from making an extra trip, we were still very annoyed at this point. I am hoping this was just a random, rare occurance, but nonetheless we will still never use the Dog Lofts/City Vet again. The poor professionalism of the staff had us thinking our dog was not even at City Vet, our dog's cut was disregarded as common, and the lady at the front desk never once apologized for causing our anxiety. We will definitely be taking our dog elsewhere so he can get the care he deserves. read more

Highly Recommend.Great experience. I would give them a 5 but i just wish the play areas were a bit bigger. They are so nice and have taken such good care of our beagle. They really care about the details and do a fantastic job. They tried him out in small dogs vs big dogs area for play because he is in the middle, and monitored which he liked best. We are coming back for sure. Love the staff. read more
