My French Bulldog has attended daycare regularly (3-4x per week) for about 8 months now, and I couldn't be more grateful for this place! The staff is incredibly friendly and attentive to my puppy, who thoroughly enjoys her time with the staff and the other dogs! They even celebrate birthdays! I really appreciate that they have the dogs on a regimented schedule instead of confined to one playroom room all day. The dogs have personal time, indoor play, and outdoor play time (each with similar sized dogs). For personal time, each dog has a roomy open-air suite with food/water bowls, a bed, and toys (if you opt to pack them in their daycare bag). For flat-faced breeds like mine, they provide slanted bowls. Although there aren't livestream cameras, the team posts photo dumps to the Facebook group every afternoon (see examples)! Also worth noting, the team is quick to flag any upcoming vaccination needs or behavior changes. They keep a very close eye on the dogs. Lastly, the hours they offer are unmatched. Drop-off opens at 7:30am and pick-up closes at 7:45pm. Recently had a friend have a horrendous experience at a dog daycare due to lack of reviews, so have begin submitting mine. I have had a premier experience with BHV. Very kind and professional employees. I have dealt with some mediocre dog daycares and don't have too much tolerance for groups with unprofessional or neglectful employees when it comes to my dog. BHV does not have this problem. My dog is excited when we arrive every time and is always in high spirits upon pick up. If I could give this place negative stars, I would. We are extremely disappointed in Barking Hound Village. We left our dog for a week to go on a family vacation, expecting him to be well cared for. Instead, he suffered extreme ABUSE at the hands of the staff. He apparently got hurt, and the wound proceeded to get infected to the point that chunks of flesh fell off him. The staff failed to inform me when his infection started, and let it fester. The first we heard was the night before we came home from our vacation, and it had clearly been happening for a while. Even then, there was no sense of urgency or request to take him to a vet. We had to rush him to emergency when we picked him up. The vet called this "gross negligence" on BHV's part. I would never recommend this place to anyone who loves their dogs and wants to them to be safe. Horrible experience. read more

I dropped my dog Henley off for her first boarding experience over Labor Day Weekend and got the call we all hope to never get--"this is BHV and we just want you to know Henley is going to be fine, but she was attacked"!!!! My heart sank knowing my baby was in pain and needing surgery and I wasn't there to comfort her. But thank goodness for Devon! Devon was a godsend and not only kept me posted the entire time, but waited at the emergency vet for 7 hours (until 2am) and even took Henley to her own home and let her sleep in bed with her! Devon treated Henley like her own dog and for that I am FOREVER GRATEFUL. She was there when I couldn't be. Because of this care that went above and beyond, I would highly recommend Barking Hound Village. Although it may take me a few years to board my baby again, when I do, I will be taking her back to Barking Hound Village and I can be confident that my Henley will be in the best hands. read more

This place is amazing. The absolute best. My golden retriever and I have been coming here for about two years now, and we couldn't be happier. It's really close to Dallas Lovefield airport and the medical district. I usually bring my pup in for daycare once a week so that she can play (since she usually has to stay home by herself while I'm at work), and she almost always passes out right when we get home. It's about $20-24 a day, but completely worth it! I researched and looked at a lot of different doggie daycares, and this one stood out to me right away. The people really care about every pup and know them (and you!) by name right when you walk in. I'm not even sure how they manage to remember everyone because I know I'd have a hard time. And my pup absolutely adores everyone at BHV. Every time I tell her we're going to daycare, she immediately runs downstairs and waits by the garage door. I haven't yet taken her here for boarding, but I would feel comfortable leaving her in BHV's care. Some perks include: no cages (pups stay in little fenced off cubicles), frequent play time, indoor + outdoor play time, and photos and videos posted on facebook. Barking Hound Village is far and away the best place we've taken our dog for daycare and boarding. Every week, our doggo (12 yo Labrador Retriever) comes home from daycare tuckered out from a day of playing with his puppy friends. We know he is well taken care of and adores his time at BHV - he even runs off to see his friends without so much as a sniff goodbye when we drop him off. Being a helicopter dog mom, I always appreciate the instagram posts and stories with our boy running around or looking for pets somewhere in the background (especially while he is boarding and we are separated for a few days). I would highly recommend BHV for both day play and boarding! The staff is amazing you can tell everyone loves dogs and are very personable with you and your dog! Every dog I've seen staff interact with they knew by name! Their structure of day play is great to offer your pet fun but also relaxation throughout the day. Duke was originally boarding for 2 weeks but when a family emergency came up we had to extend his stay an additional week. BHV accommodated his additional week with no problem! One of my favorite parts was being able to see the daily photos and videos of Duke on their social media platforms! They truly care about their clients. We will definitely be back! This is our dog's second home. We have a high energy dog who requires lots of play. She goes to BHV for daycare 1-2 times a week. She is so excited when we arrive and bounds in the door, and often tries to go back inside when I pick her up in the evening. I completely trust the staff with her. I made a trial visit appointment at BHV at the recommendation of a friend - from the moment Rommie and I walked the door, I could not have been happier with my experience. I brought my dog here for doggy day care. To me, the purpose of doggy day care is to have the dogs play all day... otherwise I would just get a walker. It doesn't make sense to me that the dogs are in their crates for about 2 hours at a time and only play for 30 minute increments. I was told that they would play mostly all day but that was not the case. This is NOT WORTH $28 dollar. I could of gotten a dog walker for $15 for an hours- at least that way my dog would be able to roam about the apartment and stay in a pen. Sham! read more

After rescuing our dog, we visited 8 different potential daycare locations -- BHV is light years beyond the rest! We were looking for a rest/play setup (not play all day), NO crates, and engaged staff....some of the places we visited either put the dogs in tiny cages for 5 hours at a time, or had huge rooms full of spastic dogs with staff who weren't paying any attention to them, and some even refused to let us even see sections where the dogs stay (scarry!). BHV met all of our criteria, and Harry absolutely loves it. PROS: * The entire staff knows Harry by name, and greets him every morning. They are friendly and enthusiastic, and really seem to care about the dogs. Going to daycare at BHV is now his favorite part of the week -- he runs into the door when we arrive. * Instead of being in a room with 40 crazy dogs all day, they have their own private space to stay in (NOT a cage!) with food/water and a bed. * They get multiple (5 or 6) 30-minute indoor or outdoor play times throughout the day. For my dachshund/terrier mix this is perfect -- he gets tired after about 30 minutes and wants to rest, but he still has plenty of time to burn off energy and socialize with other dogs. CONS: * Haven't had any cons so far - and we've been going twice a week for 7 months! I never worry about Harry or feel guilty when he is at BHV -- he is always excited to go, and comes home wagging his tail. Their hours are great, and never a problem when I have early morning or evening meetings at work. Thanks to family in town, we've only had to board him once, but I won't hesitate to board him at BHV in the future! Now that we've moved to another part of town AND my office is moving too, we're going to have to find a new daycare...so far, nothing has even come close to BHV -- I'm starting to think that it is worth the extra 40 minute commute to stay at BHV! read more

We are so happy to have found BHV in Dallas. Our corgi has a ton of energy and loves to play, but he gets overstimulated easily and rest becomes just as important as exercise. This was always my issue with other doggy daycares...yes, I want my dog to get exercise, but I don't want him in a room for 8 hours a day going non stop. That's a recipe for him to become cranky and skittish. BHV's setup is perfect. The dogs have 30 minute play groups sprinkled throughout the day and have downtime in between in their own decent-sized pens (they're really more like rooms...you don't need to worry about your dog being stuffed in a cage). I take his blanket and toys and treats so that he'll feel at home, and I know he gets loved on by the staff all the time. They also don't have shared toys or water bowls, so likelihood of transferring illness and resource guarding is way down (they have their own water bowls in their pens). My dog has never gotten sick after leaving here. He's never even had a scratch or matted fur, he looks healthy and happy every time I pick him up. And, my dog LOVES it here. When I take out his daycare bag he starts jumping up and down and can't wait to get in the car. He sits on the edge of his seat the entire way there just bursting with anticipation. This dog means the world to me, so if he's happy, I'm happy :) read more

I think my dog may like the folks at BHV better than he likes me. They treat him like he is their own pet; hugging him before he leaves, making special "old man mush" to make sure that he eats and generally just loving on my 15 year old dog. It makes it a lot easier to go out of town knowing that the staff at BHV is taking GREAT care of "Logan the Wonder Dog" as they have nicknamed him. So yes, I am a crazy dog parent. And no, I am not proud of it. With that being said, I am very selective of where I board my fur-baby. After doing lots of internet research, I decided on BHV for his recent overnight stay. Their location is perfect for those flying out of Love Field, and easily accessible from downtown, uptown or I-35. They make registration a snap by having all their forms online, which is always helpful. The morning of my drop-off they were nice enough to sign my dog in 15min before their normal 8am opening time. When I picked up my dog the following day, their staff was friendly, organized and happy to explain what my dog had been up to. $40 a night might be a little on the high side for boarding, but I definitely do not mind paying for quality pet-care. read more

Our Westie, Lamar loves going to daycare (aka camp) at BHV! We visited several daycare facilities before finding BHV. BHV is perfect for Lamar- he gets both play time and his own time. He wasn't quite sure what to think at first and now I can't even say the word "camp" without him getting super excited. The staff at BHV is fantastic; Lamar loves them and they are so patient with me, especially when I would call to check in on him during the day. I looked up and read reviews for every doggy daycare in Dallas and decided on BHV and will recommend them completely!! The staff at BHV is wonderful and know my pup by name and I trust them 100% with her. I swear she doesn't even notice I'm gone when she stays with her friends at BHV. They also post pictures and videos of the dogs on their FB page so you can see them having fun. They are a little more expensive than other facilities, but in my opinion, completely worth it. Only con would be that they book up for daycare and boarding QUICK! So you need to make reservations in advance or be put on a wait list--but that just shows how loved BHV is! read more

I dropped my boys off for boarding this morning after a 3 month hiatus (we recently moved and it's just not convenient for daycare anymore) but they not only remembered them, they also noticed that the boys had a new bed. First off, I will start by saying that if they took kids; I would leave my 2-year-old son at BHV. THAT'S how much I love and trust everyone who works for this company. I also need to mention that I drive from FAR NORTH DALLAS all the way to BHV because I can't bare the thought of taking my dog any place else. We've been going to BHV for about 6 years. My dog is my child and I am just as protective of her as my son. There is NO better place you could send your pup. I challenge anyone to find a cleaner, fun, happy, loving, caring place for their dog because I can assure you that you won't. This is one of the few places that I've seen that doesn't cage dogs. Meaning, each dog has a den surrounded by a white picket fence. You are allowed to bring anything for your dog that will assure BHV is your dog's home away from home (toys, beds, blankets). I know many places don't allow that. Another thing that is worth mentioning, my family is from CA and the boarding place we used for our family Westie, charged for everything from feeding wet food to giving medication and even PLAYTIME. Not BHV. If your dog requires meds, they aren't going to charge you extra. If you dog has a special diet or requires more attention due to health issues, not a problem. BHV is happy to do anything for your pup. The staff has become a part of our family. A few years back, I was on my way to drop my dog and my parent's dog off at daycare when I was t-boned. Airbags deployed and everything. My car was about $500 away from being totaled. I called BHV because I was so worried about the pups and they sent a staff member to where I was to pick up the dogs. They kept a close eye on them all day to make sure everything was ok. How many places would do that? The owners, Lisa and Jeremy are wonder people and therefor, only hire the best. They have high expectations of their staff and if they see any issues, they handle it right away. If you decide to send your dog to BHV you won't be disappointed and you'll likely wonder how you ever lived without them. read more

I've visited a number of dog boarding and daycare facilities, and I can tell you, the staff at BHV goes above and beyond to take care of the dogs. The place is always clean, and the dogs coming and going are happy. Further, they even take care of several rescue dogs, and the staff gives them special attention, sometimes taking them home for sleepovers. ; ) The staff knows dogs and is very professional. The owners are dog lovers and run their place accordingly. The animals get plenty of attention and exercise; they are not left in cages for hours on end like in some urban facilities. The only reason I don't give them 5 stars is that the playgrounds are limited in size. This of course is not their fault; it's in the middle of a business district and they did the best they could with the property. All in all, this is a fun and reputable place for your dog, who will in all likelihood love it there. read more

When I first adopted my sharpei, Abita, I was very nervous about leaving her. I've been lucky enough to have friends who will typically watch her, but I've been in a pinch a few times and had to find an alternative. Barking Hound Village has been great in taking care of her - and particularly during Abita's last stay, alleviating my concerns since she's just a few weeks post major surgery (plates and screws after four broken ribs and three pelvic breaks). It is SUCH a relief to not have to worry (of course you will anyway) and know that your fur child is being taken care of. I have a mini husky who has the temperament of a full size husky, sometimes it's hard to find doggy daycares that keep him entertained throughout the day but I need to look no further now! The dogs get multiple play sessions a day but aren't together the whole time, which is important considering dogs can get burnt out. As a typical nervous dad, I wanted to see everything and make sure I was selecting the right place for the pup I love, who also happens to be a rescue dog with a few issues. They were understanding, caring, and very interested to get to know my little guy one on one. I had him spend a day for daycare before a planned overnight trip. They were sensitive, accommodating,a nd very happy to take my calls to check on my dog. I think the whole thing was so much more tramatic for me than him... he loved hanging out with other dogs of his age and size. Not a fancy spot, but I felt it was safe, reasonably priced, and glad to have as an option when a friend cant stay and dog sit for me. read more

My dog loves it here! I work near Dallas Love Field Airport and often times have to be at work early and stay late. I can drop my dog off as early as 7:30AM and pick her up as late as 8PM but of course it's never that late. When I pick her up she knocks out right away on the car ride home. The staff is super friendly and they answer my email questions right away. Overnight boarding does book up all the time so call them today! read more

Barking Hound Village has severely gone downhill in the last few years. It used to be one of the best places to take your dog but not anymore. My dog used to enjoy going there but now she is hesitant, which concerns me. I also hear people (both male & female voices) yelling at the dogs both inside and outside. Service is definitely lacking - anytime I drop off my dog, I have to wait for a long time before someone comes to the lobby so I can check my dog in for daycare. This is during the week when I don't have much time to wait. Seems like the staff doesn't care and they always seem very flustered. My dog has also come home with urine stains on her fur along with random and big scratches on her body. The staff just brushes it off as part of what happens when dogs play but it seems like no one is really watching the dogs and caring about them like the old staff used to do. As a result of these terrible changes, I've decided to no longer take my dog to Barking Hound Village. Oh and why don't they have webcams?? All the daycares have webcams these days - is there something they don't want us to see?? I also overhear the staff complaining openly about the owners - not good! read more
