We moved to Dallas and were looking for a groomer for our bernadoodle. Previously, the groomers would always say "he had mats" and had to cut a bunch of his hair and basically give him a buzz cut. He always looked horrible for the first couple weeks until it grew back in and got curly and cute again. So once in Dallas, we found pooch patio. They gave him the best haircut he's ever had. They made him so soft and fluffy. They left his hair with a good length still. He's cute immediately after haircut now. Best groomer weve ever used. The other amazing thing is they open at 6am and are open until 8pm. I have to get to work quite early and I can still drop him off before work and pick him up, even after a late day. read more

This review has been a long time coming, but Pooch Patio deserves to be recognized for their outstanding service. I have two collies and they absolutely love going here for daycare and the occasional boarding. The staff is excellent. In particular, Sarah, runs a well oiled machine. She is beyond fantastic at managing this facility - She knows each dog by their name, and is on her walkie talkie letting the rest of the staff know that my dogs have arrived before I even set foot in the door. I have had the pleasure of also speaking with many of the other staff members (I don't yet know everyone by name, sorry!), but Totty/Amber are also wonderful. I love that I feel like my dogs are not just a number here, but instead, well-known and cared for. I truly trust that my dogs will be taken care of when I drop them off in the mornings. In terms of grooming, they haven't had better grooming than the ones they receive at Pooch Patio. We have taken them to other places in the past when in a bind or out of town. No one has yet to match the services provided here. They typically receive basic baths, but when we adopted our most recent dog, he was dirty, bad odor, had large mats throughout his hair, and very rough hair. He was only 9-months at this time. They spent several hours grooming him, and we were so pleased with how he looked (and smelled) after they were done! I know that it must have been extremely difficult given he had never been groomed or received a bath before because his previous owners kept him outside. I also love that they have web cams and I can watch my dogs at daycare. They always have someone inside the pens which I really appreciate, so they can stop any potential fights. Although, I've never even seen anything like that happen. My dogs are usually the ones barking uncontrollably (it's in their nature as Collies), but the staff is really good at calming them down and putting them in timeout when they need a break. I'm an anxious dogmom and adopting the idea of having to leave my pooch in the care of relative strangers wasn't easy for me. I know lots of people who likewise experience a feeling of dread over the "unknowns" of having to board their pets, but I honestly know after several years of taking my Corgi there that the staff love my dog and treat her like family. Their vaccination requirements are actually stricter than the algorithm used by many vets (for example for Bordetella/Kennel Cough) which shows their dedication to health and safety of the pets who come the patio. Fortunately, they can actually administer those at the patio, so you don't have to make an "off schedule" visit with your vet. My 10 yo Maltese, Madeline, has been going to The Pooch every 6-8 weeks for grooming since she was 12 weeks old. Every experience has been stellar, and she always comes home happy and with a perfect hairstyle. She gets a super short cut, and not once has there ever been a nick, abrasion, illness, or grooming mistake. I also had a doberman that attended daycare regularly, and he would run inside so fast he would practically knock the door down and run them over to get to the play yards! I love the consistency in the friendly staff (no high turnover and the manager has been there since it opened over 10 yrs ago) and how they always know who Madeline is. Been going here for over a year now for day care and grooming of my fluffy corgi, Poppy. I was nervous to leave her in someone else's care at first but was thankful for the cameras to check on her during the day. I can tell she has a blast in day care because she bolts into the building. The staff is second-to-none-- they are pet people at heart so I know Poppy is well loved (and frankly spoiled) while she's there. Poppy's been there well upwards of 100 times and never had any issues. I've always been pleased with their grooming, especially considering how finicky Poppy is about being brushed. It's worth the money. If you are taking your pup for the work week, I highly recommend buying day care days in bulk. A 20-day package will basically get you through the workdays of a full month. It's a great deal, especially considering that it costs just as much to have a dog walker come let her out. She comes home from Pooch Patio happy and relaxed. read more

We recently planned a trip out of town, and unfortunately couldn't bring our dog Chloe. We've had her 3 years and adopted her from a shelter. She has never been left alone at any dog boarding place since we have had her. She had not yet even experience open play/free play. With only a couple of weeks left to plan our trip, I stumbled on Pooch Patio via Yelp. We dropped her off on a Saturday for a few hours. Then again once more during the mid week. Then finally after those 2 good experiences, we left her from Saturday until Wednesday. Although she didn't interact with the other dogs as much as we would have liked, she still enjoyed it. Each time we picked her up, she was excited, and even seemed happier for the next few days after. My favorite aspect is being able to watch via Nest camera live stream to always feel as if you are there. We have no complaints, and can't wait to bring her back again soon. Extremely disappointed with the customer service received this morning. I was turned away from my dog's grooming appointment, even though the error was obviously made on The Pooch Patio's end. I called to book this appt over a week ago and was told specifically that since I wanted a grooming appt and not just a bath the soonest available was today. When I showed up with my dog, I was told I did not have a grooming appt, but a bathing appt. even though I specifically said no when asked if I wanted the same service as last time (bath only). My husband and I are on a "staycation" in Grapevine and woke up at the crack of dawn to pick up our pup from a friend in Grand Prairie, to make it to our 8am drop off time. Only to be turned away and left to find other arrangements for our pup. I have a goldendoodle which has long hair that easily mats. I repeatedly made the scheduler aware that I wanted a GROOM. Whether or not I wanted his hair cut short or just trimmed, I had left up to the groomer depending on the amount of matting. The employee even read me the appointment notes which stated if dematting will require too much time or money, I would like a full haircut. So it seems to me there should have been time allowed for a full groom either way. I'm extremely disappointed with the lack of compromise or accountability of the staff and will not be coming back. read more

My dog has gone here several times and always has a great experience there. This is the only daycare in the area that has a wide range of hours, 6am - 8pm and they even have half days unlike other daycares in the area. What's more is that the staff is very educated and trained about dogs and dog behavior. They will answer all of your questions and truly care about you as a person as a dog. They have several processes in place to make sure that your dog does well in daycare, stays safe, and has a blast. They even have cameras that can be reviewed if there are any incidents. After having a bad experience at another daycare I called them to talk to them and the staff and owner were so very supportive and understanding. I highly recommend Pooch Patio if you're looking for a place where they understand dogs, take safety seriously, and truly value their customers as people instead of treating them like another payment they are collecting. read more

We took our dog Haley there for the first time on Saturday June 1st for a half-day of daycare. We watched on the webcam not long after we dropped her off. The attendant that rotated in not long after she was brought in should not be doing that job. She looked pissed off the whole time and when Haley and another dog were starting to play, she broke them up and then threatened to squirt her with a water bottle. I have a screenshot of her hiding underneath a box from this attendant. We checked on her later and saw her being removed from the room. When we picked her up, we were told she had been put in time out twice for "nipping at other dogs". I was also passive aggressively told that my 5-month old puppy "needs training" She was clearly traumatized from whatever that entailed the rest of the day when we got home. We have never seen her act like she did after getting back from just over 4 hours at this place. She was meek and wanted to be as close to us as possible. Last night, when I corrected her for something, she went to a corner and started shaking, a behavior she has never exhibited before. I can only assume she was yelled at or treated harshly for trying to play while at daycare. Haley is a 5 month old Golden Doodle and we have taken her to Mutts several times and have never seen her interact with another dog aggressively. In fact, we've seen her leave dogs alone that don't want to play with her. Any "nipping" that took place was probably her trying to play. If they have video of whatever actions were deemed worthy of being put in time out twice, I'd love to see it. However, from what I saw, the attendant there was making sure the dogs just stood around and didn't interact. We will never go back to Pooch Patio and the attendant in charge of her should not be allowed to watch over playful dogs. read more

Found the Pooch patio on yelp. There are so many good things about this place. 1. They're open until 8pm! 8PM!!! Do you know how many dog free activities I can accomplish with that kind of time?! A lot. That also means like a solid 10 hours of play time for my dog. I have an 11 month old Aussie corgi that has way too much energy. Any time I've taken her to another day camp, she comes home and will easily play for hours still amped. 1 day at pooch patio and she's out for 2 days. The staff is super friendly, they have pretty decent cameras, and they have a corgi day! Only downside is it's a little bit out of the way for me. Totally worth it though. read more

The day play is very luxurious, you can watch you Pooch on their website with a password. Just ask them for the password. Boarding pups here is wonderful. I always book a suite for my pups to share. They get a peanut butter Kong each night. You can also get video footage to view your pup during their stay! My favorite thing about this place is the bathing options! The VIP deal is AWESOME! I get the buy two baths get two free each month! Great deal! And the pups look AMAZING after each bath! I also love the "blueberry" facial they can give white pups so they get rid of the tear stains. read more

My pup is Nugget and he gives The Pooch Patio 5 stars It's tough finding a place I can confidently drop my fur baby off with minimal stress/worrying. You walk in and are immediately acknowledge and as a regular the staff gets to know you and your dog. The facility is way cleaner than other ones I've visited or even seen online. Nugget goes to daycare about 3-5 days a week and I get to spy on him with their webcams. I love that they have a password that only daycare pups get access to. He doesn't need much grooming besides a bath and dremmel but he comes home smelling so good!! It's sad sometimes leaving him but so great when I see him at pick up and he's a happy puppy! I've never had drinks or chilled around the patio, so this is strictly a "dog daycare" review. I find Pooch Patio to be the best deal in the area for just dropping the dogs off for play or keeping them overnight. The $30 day fee for each dog includes kennel and play. I know some places charge you more for play time, but Pooch Patio doesn't which is great! I have two medium size dogs that often need tons of attention while playing with other dogs. I've never worried about them when I drop them off here. Their staff is attentive to all behaviors and monitors any bad behaviors you're trying to fix. My dogs are always tired and happy once I pick them up and they, each, come with a report card telling me how they behaved. read more

I got my goldendoodle groomed here last month and to say I was disappointed is an understatement. When I picked her up she looked terrible, but I thought it was just bc she was blown out. When I got home I realized she didn't have her nails clipped or ground, which I paid extra for. Her haircut was also soooo uneven all over her entire body. I had to take her to a different groomer two weeks later to be fixed, that is how bad she looked. You can see in the attached picture that it looks like a 6 year old with sicissors cut her. This place is so well run. I am over the top impressed. April (the owner) has covered every possible detail, and it shows. I left my "senior" pups here for the first time and admittedly was nervous about making such a big change. Not only did PP have the perfect boarding program for my fur babies, but when I picked them up at the end of their week long stay, they were so calm and content! They looked healthy and rested. This has never been the case with previous providers. I also called multiple times during the week to check on my pups and everyone I spoke with was so kind. And I'm sure I drove them crazy! Everyone in the area seems to charge a base rate of $60, which is affordable. But I don't want to pay for a grooming that isn't of quality. This is a great facility! I take my doggo here when i'm spending the day in dallas. They're open until 7pm and my pupper always comes back absolutely pooped. (Which doesn't happen often because he's a border collie mix). He seems to have a lot of fun and they've got great play areas for your dogs. (They also have cameras!) I've seen the staff interact a lot with the puppies so I feel extra comfortable leaving my furbaby here. I took my dog in for a groom asking for a sanitary cut and face cleanup a few days ago... I was charged over $85 for this grooming service; it didn't include services that other groomers in the area offer (i.e. Toothbrush). Additionally, I guess the groomer thought that clean up meant cut all of the hair off of my Doodle's head and leave one little poof above her eyes. I was shocked when I picked my dog up, because of the lopsided poof, so I asked them to even it up and they proceeded to shave it all off. Needless to say, my pup's head is now just as short as her body... She didn't smell like shampoo or cologne and they didn't even put a bandana on her! Will not use this groomer again. read more
