We decided to celebrate New Year's Eve 2025/2026 at home and get our celebratory dinner from Ruffled Feathers. What a great idea! As always , their food was fantastic! The roast duck was superb! Grabbed a menu for Ruffled Feathers about a week ago as I picked up lunch from another spot in Scarsdale. We decided to pop into the shop tonight for dinner and it did not disappoint. A small, gourmet market, Ruffled Feathers offers a variety of chicken options, in addition to turkey, salmon, sides, salads and more! The owners, George and Ken, are behind the counter helping you pick out your dishes and answering any and all questions you have; George primarily helped my party out and was extremely friendly. We each picked out what main dish we wanted and then we decided on a variety of sides to share. Main entrees included: 1/4 Rotisserie Chicken (white meat- breast and wing), Turkey Burger with Sautéed Onions & Mushrooms, Famous Skinless Fried Chicken (fried in a canola oil to brown and then baked). There were so many side dish options, however we couldn't take the whole store home so we had to choose just a few which included: Pureed of Butternut Squash, Tomato & Onion Salad, Cucumber Dill & Onion Salad, Mushroom Barely Soup, Cranberry, Walnut & Apple Chutney. The food was extremely fresh, simple and of great quality! It was a home cooked meal that I didn't have to cook; talk about a win! The compote was sweet on the first bite and then you taste the tart; this balance is so crucial to not give a complete sugar rush. The rotisserie chicken was so juicy and flavorful and the skinless fried chicken was a real treat with a crispy and crunchy crust and moist chicken inside. This is a rare gem and a great find! We stumbled upon this place after visiting family in the area. Food is delicious...and best of all, you don't have to feel guilty about getting take out for dinner. Its all good ol' home cooking. It's a great place to bring home a healthy, delicious, wholesome dinner if you just don't feel like cooking tonight. There seems to be enough variety to be able to do this several times a week! We got the rotisserie chicken, stuffed shells, barbecue sauce chicken, and chicken fingers and a ton of stuff from the marketplace section. Rotisserie chicken was seasoned perfectly and very moist. Chicken fingers were ahh-mazing! So delicious! I can't believe they are baked, not fried. Stuffed shells were very good too. (My kids keep asking for stuffed shells for dinner now.) The "Marketplace" is worth checking out. I absolutely love all of the unique products that you can't find anywhere else. Betty's brownies (homemade in Scarsdale) are to die for, and you must try the watermelon flavored ice tea brew/mix. It's so refreshing on a hot summer day. There are a ton of specialty (upscale? unique?) sodas which I will definitely try the next time I'm there. We had a long drive home but it was very easy to heat up the food once we got back. For the rotisserie chicken and chicken fingers, we just heated it in the oven at 300 degrees for a few minutes but if you are from the area, this wouldn't be necessary. Prices are very reasonable for the area and is worth every penny. Definitely will be back. read more

Just picked up a Turkey for thanksgiving. The weight was 7 1/2 lbs. cooked. I know that a Turkey loses about 25% of its weight when cooked, but this is ridiculous. It's the size of a capon at best! Tried calling but line is automatically busy. Not worth the $100+ I paid for it. Ilene read more

Had the baby back ribs for the first time tonight. They were delish. In the past, we always have gotten the rotisserie chicken which is the best! You need to go early because they sometimes run out. The only issue, sometimes it's hard to find a parking place, but cars turn over quickly on Garth Rd so if you wait a few minutes you'll surely get a spot. read more

Came across ruffled feathers in the last couple of months. Take food in from here about once a week. Food is always fresh and tasty. Staff and owners are always friendly as well. In regards to the food, the rotisserie chicken is great. You can either get a whole chicken or quarter / half chicken. Sometimes they do run out of rotisserie chicken which just further proves the freshness and quality of the food. Have also had the grilled chicken and roasted Brussels sprouts which are good as well. Have been patronizing this fine establishment for many years. Their rotisserie chicken and turkey are the best in Westchester. George and Ken take pride in their offerings, including their prepared foods, such as Chicken Francese and Marsala, salads, and fresh vegetables which reflect the care and efforts of their staff. This is the go-to spot in Scarsdale for those who choose not to cook, but want a healthy or indulgent lunch or dinner alternative. We just tried this place on a whim, needed take out the other night. Everything was fresh and delicious. We especially loved the "skinless" fried chicken, tasted like a high-brow version of shake 'n bake. The sides are quite wonderful - -the kasha, spinach, cole slaw and a tomato feta cucumber salad. It reminded me of an upscale Boston Market, only a million times better. They also carry a great selection of bread and rolls (from Balthazar?) and lovely indie brand sodas. The roasted chicken is excellent, most of the sides are top notch and nothing is bad. The fried chicken is OK, not great. The owner is lovable and the staff is very warm. Very nice and helpful staff. I'm Italian and I can tell you their red (tomato) sauce is one of the best in Westchester! The chicken parm, shells, and lasgna are excellent. Ruffled Feathers is a Scarsdale treasure. The chickens are out of this world as is everything else. The cranberry sauce is exquisite. The service is five star. They pack things with extraordinary care. I have taken R.F to condolence calls, hospital rooms, long car rides, births, college visits and of course our own home.
