What a horrible experience! We came looking to buy electric clippers. They don't have the actual boxes out to buy, but paper slips that you take up front and then they go grab the clippers from the back. An anti-theft thing. Totally fine with that. We go to buy the clippers and they are $99 in store, but $77 if we buy online from petsmart.com. They say there is nothing they can do about that. Also fine I guess. Stupid, but fine. We are in a hurry so we just buy them. The employee says the person who can grab them for us out of the back is on break and we will have to wait. We wait 20 minutes before the person gets back from break. They go to the back and then come back out saying they are actually out of stock of those clippers! At this point we've waited 30 minutes. They look up in the system and tell us a different petsmart location has them in stock and we can go buy them there. Then they make us "return" what we already bought because they can't just let us go pick them up from the other store. How is this location still in business? Why do we even bother going to a brick and mortar?? Amazon it is from here on out. read more

I had a 10 am appt for my 5 year old Lab who is 95 lbs of muscle. There were people going in with dogs, so I put his too big muzzle on him so he couldn't bark excessively. I went into the grooming salon, was checking in and the gal tells me they won't groom him. Why? Because he came in with a muzzle! WTF!!! Rude and condescending I told them this was BS my dog doesn't bite or anything else. He just has a loud, annoying bark. too bad thats the Petsmart policy!!! i grabbed my purse and was walking out and a gal called after me in a condescending voice. "Have a nice day" i told her to " F.O" and within 10 minutes i had another appt for my dog with a " Decent" groomer!!! i'll never go to Petsmart again. i see why they have such crappy reviews! ive spent a lot of money with Petsmart but i will not buy the food, toys, treats, grooming EVER AGAIN!!! The groomers and management team here are TERRIBLE!!! They said my pup was flipping over their table, was "agressive" with nipping so they stopped his haircut and left me with this. That's a big piece of hair hanging from his coat, he's 1/3 of the way cut. Terrible! They also said they'd ban him from petsmart. Don't take your dogs here. Had my two Big Furbabies in for a Wash/Brush and Furmination on a Sunday. Appointed Groomer was sick and the Lead Groomer said she would fit them in. Picked up the Pups and when we got home their Paws hadn't been trimmed as per the usual level of care. Not sure how much Furmination took place either. Called the Store Manager on duty and she was very helpful, and gave us a full refund. Also scheduled us for a Redo! That's Above and Beyond! Hence the 5 Star review. Way to stand behind your Brand!!! This store was amazing, everyone was very friendly, and outgoing and very helpful, the staff went above and beyond to help us, and show us everything we needed. We got so much stuff for our husky puppies and we know they will be happy. We even got them both puppy bath with a full nail and ear wash and they look amazing, so beautiful and white and clean. They still have they amazing puppy breath i love so much, i really appreciate the time and dedication they took with our babies, thank you so much for that. I really was worried because i didn't know if they would be okay while they were getting a bath and everything, but we heard they loved it and everything went well. We took our GSD in to be groomed today. I paid $87.41 for the bath with Furminator and the Furminator Plus Bath Package. She is now shedding worse than she was before her grooming appointment and GIANT chunks of her hair are falling out. Her ears are still very nasty and her teeth don't even look like they've been brushed. I noticed as soon as we got in the car that her breath stank. When I pay almost $90 for my dog to be groomed, I expect it to be done well. Do not take your dog to this store. read more

I have brought my golden doodle here for several haircuts. The last two have been horrible. The one today tops all though. I tried a different groomer this time. Micha was quite negative when we checked in. They called me after two hours and told me he was ready for pick up. When I got there, they charged me an extra $10 because they said he was difficult, but somehow finished him in record time. His haircut was so bad. It's not at all what I asked for. When she went to remove his collar her winced and yelped. I've never seen him do that but he seemed scared of her. I'm not sure how well he was treated. Don't go here! read more

The Banfield is good too only no specific people really the whole staff is good. The store itself is organized except the water containers for dogs is a bit messy. I have taken my pup to the groomers here a few times and they are always very nice and genuinely love working with animals. My dog is a Belgian mal so he has a ton of energy and can be hard to handle at times but WARREN always goes the extra mile to make it a good experience for him. TERRIBLE. I brought my dog in to get bathed and brushed. I asked them specifically go groom around his behind. When I picked him up, Hannah (the groomer) said he did "very good" and gave me no reason to be concerned. So I get home and realize that my dog still has feces stuck to his rear. I called to notify them and the lady who answered said he was attempting to nip at her which is understandable, but I never got a phone call or an update and wasn't notified about it when I picked him up; infact, (again) I was told he "did good". So I literally just paid a bunch of money on nothing since the one thing I asked them to do isn't done. And on top of that, the "manager" told me to call back at 8 am tomorrow to talk to another manager because he didn't have "the codes" to solve the issue. You guys could've at least let me know so I wasn't blindsided when I got home. I'm never going back, nor am I ever recommending. In fact the only thing I will recommend to people is to NOT GO THERE. PetSmart - Here's the feces still stuck on my dogs behind after returning from the groomers. Such a waste of money. - Pet Training Near Me - Layton, Utah

I brought my cute little fluffy Havanese in for a light trim, and bought the "plus" package with nails, teeth, bath and trim. I told them I didn't not want my dog shaved, but a shorter underside would be okay as it collects "snowballs" when he's out in the snow. They were very friendly and nice and showed me a display of the sizes of their "shavers" and length of the hair afterwards (the longest was about 3/4 inch). I told them I did not want them to shave him, just brush him out and trim him evenly. He had a couple of mats starting out, I had already brushed out all the others, so I knew it wasn't bad. But when I picked him up, they had shaved him almost to the skin all over. His hind quarters were shaved completely all the way up 4 inches on the tail, leaving a pom pom on top. Most of the hair on his head was cut very short, but not evenly, and hair strands sticking up randomly. His nails were done, but the dew claws were left curling around. He was so scared he was shaking, and all the rest of the day he acted traumatized and depressed. I don't know what they did, or if it was all the other dogs, but the whole experience was frightening for him and it took days before he would play again. I don't think they were kind or compassionate to a dog who was timid in the first place (I did tell them). I will say they sent me a text asking if they could shave him, but I didn't see it, so they just shaved him without my permission. We will never go back to Petsmart for grooming again. They are a one-size-fits-all groomer, if you don't want your dog shaved, DON'T GO!!!!! This whole experience cost me over $90 dollars, she charged me extra for shaving his "mats", unnecessarily, a little brushing would have been enough, She was being LAZY, and didn't want to bother. I almost cry every time I look at him. A very expensive lesson. read more

My dog is not quite a year old. She had never been groomed before, but while visiting from out of state, we wanted to get it done. We brought her here and the groomers were friendly. I was asked if she's aggressive and told them she's afraid of men and as a new-ish puppy snapped at one. Despite this, they seemed okay with being able to groom her, but had me sign a waiver. Not a problem. Maybe half an hour later, I got a call to come back and get my dog; they couldn't handle her. Great. I made my way back and when I picked her up, she seemed fine and was quiet, hanging out with the groomer I'd dropped her off to. They said she was maybe afraid of the kennels and that was the issue with how she was acting. I have had other dogs taken to PetSmart in my hometown and one was NOT a fan of grooming at all. They muzzled him and carried on. I'm not sure if that was an option for my dog this time, but they didn't say. I was annoyed with my dog that she behaved that way, but also kind of bothered that this couldn't be managed. When I picked her up, they were literally grooming a howling cat and a dog who was shaking badly. At least they were nice about the situation and even gave me a number to a groomer who does sedated grooming. Yeah, we wound up shaving her down ourselves and she did fine. read more

This was my first time using Petsmart grooming. I scheduled a full wash/groom and added the Top Dog Plus package for my two miniature poodle mixes. Their coats were a bit matted after lots of outdoor winter play, so I consulted with the groomer and agreed to take their coats quite short. I was assured their Teddy Bear face shape would remain, as well as their curly tails and ears. You can understand then, how shocked I was to pick up two pups I couldn't even recognize as my own. Their coats had been shaved nearly to the skin over their entire bodies. Some patches even down to the bare skin! Even more shocking was the odd patches of hair left here and there at the original length. There was no trace left of their Teddy Bear face shapes, nor their curls on their ears and tails. Our smaller dog's tail had been shaved to the bare skin, except for a strange long patch on the underside. As if that weren't disappointing enough, their teeth had very obviously not been brushed or spritzed, and only a few individual nails even grinded. One dog has an entire back paw that wasn't even touched. But, to add further insult, they both reek of feces, and one of them is limping! My poor little guys aren't new to grooming by any means, but after bringing them home, they are clearly traumatized. Our normal social, happy dogs are hiding and refusing any interaction. It's heartbreaking. I'm beyond upset! After this nightmare grooming experience, I will never schedule another apppintment, and Petsmart has permanently lost my business. read more

I've taken my dog here twice and I feel that the groomers here are not that experienced or at least the two that have taken care of my dog. They've forgotten to trim his nails when paying for top dog plus, express his glands in addition to forgetting to spray him with pup cologne. It does bother me because we pay a lot of money to have my dog groomed and we add extra things and they forget. Maybe we will try the Centerville in October. read more

I got fleas from this place! I don't know who the heck brings their dogs in with out flea and tick medication, but it is irresponsible and inconsiderate. I have my dogs on a monthly medication, and I HAVE NOT take them to dog parks or anywhere in the past couple months (3 at least. I have a big back yard and that is where they get their exercise during the winter). I have never gotten fleas. I have had to bomb my house, give them baths, even though they were just at the groomers less than a week ago, and have to spray and vacuum my house every day. It is awful, I work at a hospital and have had to take the past couple days off. The hair cut was fine, and the girls were okay... but I am pissed. read more

Grooming department, when I went to drop my dog off the Flores were covered in dog hair already and it was only 8:45 on a Sunday morning. We went my dog, he's a westie, and she said he had a matted skirt and they were going to have to trim it short, I said that's fine just don't cut it all off. She said okay. She said it would be the full four hours, I said if you're going to take your time and make him look good that's fine with me. Three hours later he was done and they were calling me. I show up, I pay first so he doesn't have to wait, they walk him through all the dirty hair on floor and they have shaved his tail, skirt, everything! She didn't even try to comb through it, they didn't even attempt to call me! I lost it! I had to leave to not make a scene. I did call the manager, the grooming manager wouldn't be in until Thursday! But the store manager said if I was unhappy he'd give me a full refund. Damn straight I'm unhappy! They just lost my business! read more

I Will NEVER go here again! We spent almost $200 on stuff for our new puppy, some of the stuff we ended up not needing, and the harness they recommended my puppy stepped right out of. I went to return it with the original receipt and the tags still. They would only give me in-store credit because it was my husbands debit card, not mine. The return policy on the back of the receipt says purchase with debit card and original receipt is refunded in cash. Because I didn't have my husbands debit card I couldn't return the stuff! When my husband get home from his trip I will be returning ALL of it now. When I called the manager was rude and so was the employee! Horrible service!!!!! DO NOT go there!!! read more

Our 3 year old was so excited to go to the pet store and get a goldfish. I went to find someone to help us retrieve the fish from the tank. The employee looked at the little fish and said "ok what kind of tank do you have?" Well we have a bowl that we've used for other fish but we don't have a 10 gallon one as well that we could get out. "this fish needs to have a 30 gallon tank for me to sell it to you." ok that's fine what kind of fish do you have that I can take home to a bowl or else my 10 gallon tank. "honestly, nothing." ok so if I get a 30 gallon tank, how many fish can I put in that tank? "Just one. Most all of these fish require 30 gallons of water each." umm excuse me? So if I wanted 3 fish, I need a 90 gallon tank? "Yes." I proceed to go to the next isle and show her that all but two of the tanks that they sell are under 30 gallons. Why would a business sell 80% of its tanks as a certain size if they can't even put 1 fish in it? "Well you can put a frog or some snails in it." Ok so if I buy this 30 gallon tank can we take home the fish that my son picked out? "Well, it would need to be running for at least a week before I can let you take home the fish." There is still more, but i think you get the point. This place had horrendous service, we waited for forever to be helped and they wouldn't even sell us a $4.99 goldfish without buying a $100 tank and having it running for a week. I do not condone the mistreatment of animals which I understand they are trying to prevent, but this was way too over the top. All of the previous goldfish have done just fine for years in our "small" water areas. We visited Petco on Antelope Dr the following day and got a cute little yellow fish that our son loves. After purchasing a hamster cage on petsmart.com I went a week later to bring home a hamster. When I got there we asked the employee to show us the hamsters. She asked what cage we have I happily told them the pink critter trail cage which online said it was suitable for all types of hamsters. I have owned hamsters in the past housed in cages similar to the one I ordered online and this one was going to be a gift. She then told me I could not buy the hamster unless I bought a different cage. Even the picture on the box for the cage shows a teddy bear hamster. Very unhappy with this employee as she refused to sell me a hamster to live in the cage I bought from their website to house the hamster. read more

I needed to buy some prescription pet food and arrived at the store at 8:54 pm, but the doors were already all locked and it looked like the employees were mostly done cleaning for the night. One of the employees looked at me an then turned and went back to sweeping the floor. Great job taking care of the employees by getting them out early but terrible job taking care of the paying customers. SAD! Another instance a couple of months back I needed to buy the same Rx food and it was out of stock. I spoke to the store manager and he was kind enough to look in the back to see if there was any but there was none. Apparently it wasn't even on order even though it was out of stock and being a Rx food it is not like it sells in high volumes. Not sure why they couldn't flag a simple inventory item for reorder. I checked again a couple of days later after they were supposed to get their shipment in but nothing. After another week finally they had it back in stock. Very disappointing! I'm not sure why this store seems to be full of shenanigans but the customer experience needs to improve by a wide margin. read more

The vet is HORRIBLE. As I explained to the vet that my dog's paw was hurting him really bad and all of the vets were closed she couldn't examine his foot to make sure it wasn't something serious. Now he is having surgery on his Paw at his vet because it turned out to be something serious. The only reason I will give this place one star is because the ladies up front and a customer helped calm him down and tried everything they could to help figure out what was going on. So thank you Petsmart for having a horrible Vets office in your building! read more

I will never bring my animal to the groomers there again. Unprofessional staff...they do not do a very good job. Took my 8 year old lab for the 47.00 pacakge. I was called an hour later....which normally takes 2 to 3 hours......for me to come pick him up because he, my dog, was stressed in the kennel because he was barking. When I arrived I was almost slopping wet...nails weren't grinded...and im sure his ears weren't cleaned. Now I have to spend another 50.00 to get him done the right way. I have been bringing him to this location since he was a pup. It inly takes one time to ruin it all. IF YOU WANT A GOOD SERVICE TAKE YOUR ANIMALS ELSEWHERE. When the groomer asked me if I wanted to schedule my next appointment I told her absolutely not and that I would never bring my dog there again and the lady didn't say a word. DO NOT TRUST PETSMART FOR GROOMING. My poor cat has never had an issue being groomed. Today I brought him in to be groomed and I got a call about 5 minutes later saying to come pick my cat up and that the lady didn't FEEL like grooming today. Upset, I went back into the store to find my HALF groomed cat. The lady cutting his hair said that my cat was acting scared and tried to bite her. I asked if he bit her or broke skin and she said no. I refused to pay for a half complete (patchy) job. Later I get a visit from ANIMAL CONTROL. The grooming lady reported that my cat attacked her and she had to get stitches. I told the officer what I experienced and the officer still had to put my cat on quarantine for a month (I'm not upset at the officer at all, she was just doing her job). I called a petsmart manager and was told that I was lying and they can't do anything. I'm so sad and disappointed. Please, do not go here. read more
