Excellent customer service! We broke down on the highway outside of Toppenish about dinner time, we were worried about finding help since it was closing time for most shops. The local Les Schwab recommended Ruggles. So glad we called them! The owner towed us back to the shop and let us spend the night in our trailer on the property. The next morning the technicians diagnosed and solved the problem quickly and we were back on our way. Everybody was so kind. read more

I just picked up a customers vehicle there last week. They dummied up a service sheet for her vehicle and claimed that he vehicle needed the engine replaced and charged her $300 for fifteen minutes and they could not even correctly diagnose what was wrong with her vehicle. These folks will plain try and rip off the unknowing consumer. Took me less then 15 minutes to run a cylinder compression leak down test twice to determine that the engine was not damaged other then needing a timeing belt set and serpentine belt and tensioners and a waterpump. Vehicle should be good until the timing belt needs replacement. The original lasted 170000 miles. These folks will rip off anyone that they think they can........ read more

On the day of my last birthday, my car blew a head gasket and cooked the engine as I was going over Satus Pass on a trip to Yakima, WA, and Hamilton, MT. I was eventually towed into Toppenish, WA, and the car was left at Ruggles Auto Repair. [By the way, folks, do NOT be seduced by the usually sterling AARP brand when buying a roadside assistance plan. The AARP plan is TERRIBLE.]. I talked to the friendly secretary, Deena [sp?], over the phone, and arranged to have my car looked at first thing the next morning the car was left off after closing). The next morning, I met the owner, Lynn Ruggles, and his wife, Bobbi. Even though they were completely jammed up, they agreed to put me first in line for a test to see what damage I had done to the engine and what repairs were needed. Within half an hour I got the bad news: I basically needed a new engine, which would cost more than I paid for the car. But here is where things got interesting. Lynn then asked me about my trip, which involved seeing my daughter and granddaughters in Yakima, then continuing to my wife's 47th high school reunion in MT. Mr. Ruggles apparently took pity on me, because he offered my wife and me the use of a perfectly fine car, gratis, to continue our trip! Somewhat shell-shocked, I eventually took him up on his offer, and my wife and I used the car for the next 4 days! Lynn asked for nothing to guarantee the safe return of the car, saying, "If we can't trust our fellow man, what are we here for?" When we brought the car back, my wife had to twist Bobbi's arm to get her to accept $100 (the absolute least we could do). It just occurs to me, as I write this recommendation, that Lynn charged us nothing for the test. So I cannot possibly leave a higher recommendation for Ruggle's Auto Repair than I am. Their expertise was obvious and their generosity and honesty was truly exceptional. If you need automotive repairs in the lower Yakima Valley, you cannot possibly bring your rig to a better place than Ruggles Auto Repair. read more
