This place is a lot of fun! They were all very nice and supportive!! Very thorough and helpful. We went for our first time and had an amazing ride. It was a little intense and had us sore for a week. Definitely cannot keep up with everyone who's been doing it for a while but that didn't stop me from trying! They supply you with your water bottle, a towel, a locker, and shoes! There's merchandise up front to buy. I love how they keep track of your progress. The instructor was full of energy the entire time. Overall, it was amazing! I recently have been trying to cancel my membership from this place because I am moving to the north. Due to a lot of memberships being cancelled they won't allow you to cancel at the studios anymore and will only allow you to go through a retention caller service. Everyone at the studio told me "good luck" because a lot of people have been struggling to cancel their membership because of this system. No one knew who worked the system or where the phone number went (concerning right?). They told me they open at 10, so I called and it began with the typical "experiencing high traffic." I was on hold for over an hour (see photo). After being on hold for an hour the automatic voice came back on to ask if I wanted to continue with the automatic system, of course I said yes as was tired of being on the phone. They took all my information and asked me to select why I was calling out of three opinions, the second I said cancellation it hung up on me. I stopped being unlimited at this studio once I realized they only cared about nepotism. They have fired all the good instructors due to their own egos. Unless you want to be locked into a lifetime membership with a studio that will go under within the next two years go elsewhere. This is peoples livelihood, taking money out of accounts of people who are simply trying to cancel their membership. Shame of this company. read more

Very poor customer service. I requested cancelation in June via phone. I was then texted an address to email, so I did the same day. I was then charged for June and July and was told I needed to submit my request to a different address, the one provided by their own employee was wrong, and they'd still have to charge me for September because they need a "30 day notice." (I guess my emails and text message screenshots from June weren't satisfactory for them) I've asked for a corporate number multiple times and have not been provided one to call. It takes days to receive a simple email reply back. All in all this has ruined any chance of me returning to the studio and future members need to know that cancelation will not be easy and they will take your money despite it not even being your fault. read more

It's unfortunate that this needs to be said, because many of the instructors here are lovely and this is in no way a reflection on any of them or their classes. BUT I am coming here to echo what other reviewers have said - it is IMPOSSIBLE to cancel a membership at Rukus. I have been given the run around repetitively on how to cancel, was never given any actual point of contact outside of an email address (that I have emailed 3x since last month and have yet to receive a response.) Please never give these studios your credit card information because they will continue to charge you forever. I'm sure this extremely gross business practice will have them closing their doors in a years' time anyway. Until then, I'll be canceling my credit card and taking my business literally anywhere else. read more

While I don't think Spin will ever be regular in my rotation of exercises, this place was great. The staff were all super friendly and helpful, the instructor fun, energetic, and motivating. I'm not sure if this differs from other studios, but I liked that you register online and pick your bike. You also include your shoe size, so when you arrive the cubby that is assigned to that bike has your shoes already set out for you. They also give you a sweat towel to use. At first I was a bit claustrophobic with my feet being locked into the bike, but I later appreciate it so i didn't die when trying to stand and sit, stand and sit... Their bathrooms all have showers in them, and included shampoo, conditioner, and soap. They also have razors, (spray) deodorant, dry shampoo, and feminine products in case you need to freshen up before going to work or after class. All in all this place is awesome. Spin is my normal cup of tea, but a great option to rotate in occasionally, and this place is where I'll go. read more

Beware of autopay! The studio is great, no complaints here. However I've been trying to cancel my auto payment for several months. I've filled out the required cancellation form, gave them an advanced month as required. I never received a confirmation from them that they got the form because it was thru a gocycle.com website so I couldn't get a record of it. You called and emailed several times as the local studio said they couldn't help me that I'd have to go thru their corporate office. I didn't get anywhere, meanwhile they're charging me $39 a month and the website doesn't even allow me to use the club, says I don't have an ongoing membership, I would have to buy one. Finally today I called my credit card and dispute the charges since Feb of 2023, it's now October 2023. After seeing more reviews online, I realized I'm not the only one. Apparently this is an ongoing problem. It's too bad cause I liked the classes and the club. I DO NOT recommend getting into autopay. I would find a way to pay cash at the door for the month, which of course they only take cards so beware. read more

I have never experienced such fraudulent and unprofessional conduct from a company in my life. The company stole almost $1000 from me for not canceling an auto-renewed yearly membership "within 30 days" before it renewed. they ignored my calls well before that, sent me messages that they would call me back but never did, contradicted terms of their contract that I only was able to locate by taking a screen shot of my contract in the studio. Day.... 7/12 *** reportfraud.ftc.gov and www.bbb.org/file-a-complaint *** 7/6 I initiated the cancellation process on June 2nd. Was told I would be contacted. No one called. I've sent 9 emails to three different rukus emails, I've talked to 3 employees in person, I've left 4 unreturned voicemails, and submitted 2 online requests. The instructor and employees I interacted with were all incredibly nice, very welcoming and helpful in showing me the facility and how everything worked. The peloton bikes are a cool concept and I like that they have showers available too. Class itself was okay, I felt like something was off with my bike and my stats never showed accurately on the board (they stayed at 0 the entire time) so that was kinda sucky... but with their customer service I'm sure they would've happily helped me out immediately if I'd went out and asked someone to help me. Overall Rukus was nice, but not for me personally. I was excited to try this place because it was free for the first month, but after experiencing it I think I'm going to stick with CycleBar. Cyclebar has more of a community vibe that I like and I feel like I go on a journey when I'm in their classes especially with their themed rides; in Rukus it felt like a by the book structured class...it was good, but nothing really special honestly. read more

I really did like the instructors here however, the owners are different story. I was paying month-to-month at the Winter Park location. It closed in September. They continue to charge me for October. I contacted them and they said I didn't go go through the cancellation process, and now I owe for November as well. I find this ridiculous because they close down their studio and continue to debit my account because I didn't fill out some stupid paperwork in which one of the questions was asking for the last four digits of my social . This company has harassed me with constant phone calls and emails about a disputed charge for over a year now. I initially signed up for a 3 month contract after being told I can cancel within the first month if I am not happy or finding Rukus useful. Of course to my surprise, when I called back within the month, I was told that information was incorrectly provided. (Definitely not my fault, I'm just the customer gaining information from an Employee in the facility). I then had to go ahead and dispute each charge for the next couple months due to still being charged after expressing my concerns. I love the community Rukus created. From the moment I walk in, I feel so supported through the journey I set for myself. The facility is so super clean and the provide a lot of goodies to help you. Starting when you walk in, the provide a water bottle and shoes that help you clip into the bike. In the bathrooms, they have spray deodorant and dry shampoo as well as showers if you need to freshen up. In the cycle arena, they have towels and resistance bands to help you attain your goals. The instructors treat you like your greatest friends or family and help you reach the goals you set for yourself. I always leave feeling so empowered and ready for the rest of my day/week. I stopped by the club and the ladies up front seem completely clueless and have no answer but to say, call the 407 number, which they know very well does not work. I've probably been to over twenty different fitness facilities in Central Florida for a workout, and Rukus ranks at the top. Let's start with the facilities - very clean, with ample space in the bathrooms - and they even have showers - with included soap, shampoo, and conditioner! I've used this perk a few times, and it's so nice to be fresh and clean when you have an appointment or are meeting friends after class. I'm sure my friends appreciate it, too. The cycle room is nice and spacious, and the bikes are laid out so I'm not hitting hands with the person next to me when I'm stretching at the end of class. The instructors remind you during class to keep up your form for maximum output. They are encouraging and really want you to do your best. The studios have amazing deals - monthly specials and offers that can't be beat. It's a great price point for what you get. If you happen to be late to a class, they have an extra bike outside of the studio that you can hop on and watch the instructor via closed circuit TV. They also have a Peloton bike for use and a fancy scale to measure your progress. One of the best things is that there are multiple locations, and you can use your pass at either of them. They are opening several more studios, one even closer to my house, and I can't wait. read more

The only cycle class I've been to before was one that L.A. Fitness offered... and I was not impressed. Rukus was a very different experience. I made an account on their website and you're able to reserve your bike for the class that you want. It has all your information so that when you arrive for class they already have your size cycle shoes in numbered cubbies that match your bike spot. They also provide reusable sports water bottle that you can take home with you. There were plenty of employees there to answer any questions you might have, and they stayed in the room even during the workout. They helped me set up my bike and showed me the tricks to figure out if it was adjusted correctly. I loved this because at L.A. the advice was "adjust till you feel comfortable"... well when it's something I've never done before I don't know how it's supposed to feel. These tips helped me so I'll know how to adjust my bike each time, and the tips on getting your shoes in and out were super helpful. As for the class itself, I really liked it. The music was perfect and it had a good mix. The instructor (Kelsey M) also mentioned you could give her songs and she would put it in future playlists. She gave good instructions on the three positions and she was easy to follow throughout the class. She was also very motivating during the more grueling parts of the ride. Since I signed up for class online I was able to see myself on the "leaderboard" screen they have. Additionally you can see certain stats on your bike and they also email you them after class saying how you did. I did go during their promotion period where my class was free but I wouldn't mind paying for the experience I had. While I won't buy a monthly package (solely because I already belong to too many fitness studios and gyms, and the monthly prices are a little high for someone like me that doesn't focus that much on cardio) I would buy a single class for every now and then when a friend wants to go. read more

I dropped into one of the Sunday classes at Rukus and was very impressed by the friendly staff and new facility. The lockers were easy to navigate and I even left with a free water bottle! The class itself is very similar to FlyWheel. A large emphasis is placed on the stats and your output. For the most part, everyone showed up on the leaderboard that was in the class. But you can opt out of this if you would like. The bikes themselves are the Schwinn bikes you will find in many independent studios. Not my favorite, but still a good bike. So why the 4-stars? The class itself feels a bit stiff - I love cycling classes that make you feel like you went to church. This one was more like bible study. Not a huge connection to the music and more just RPM/resistance. The music itself was somewhat outdated. Now, this is based off of one class, so I cannot speak for all instructors. I have been going to Rukus cycling since the day it opened and I LOVE it! I do the unlimited monthly package and over the holidays, I committed to going for the next YEAR because that's how much I love it (they offer all sorts of packages though - have no fear). I have tried so many different fitness studios and Rukus has by far been the most fun, energetic studio I've been to - plus, I still haven't gotten tired of going which normally happens to me. They always keep you on your toes with themed rides, happy hour, brunch, etc. which is an awesome perk (plus wine and mimosas sometimes - woo!). The variety of instructors and classes are amazing too... my favorite instructors are Releen, Jenna W., Carolyn V., and my absolute favorite is Dallas!!! All of the instructors make it a point to get to know you, talk to you before/after class and they'll call you out in class when you're killing it (I love that)! If you haven't tried Rukus yet, you're missing out! 5 stars for sure - do yourself a favor and book your first class (which is free) and see what it's all about! read more

I finally had my first Rukus experience! It was actually what I expected, with a few extra suprises. The Studio: The studio was easy to find, being right on the corner of the plaza. There was plenty of parking room available. When I walked in, I immediately noticed how cool and clean the place looked with it's white walls and "Rukus-Green" accents. It was a bit smaller than I expected, but nice. The desk staff was very friendly and helpful with getting me set up. I reserved a bike online, but I guess I did something wrong and it wasn't in their system, but she wasted no time fixing the situation so that I could be on my way, and I mean NO time.. she took seconds to re-reserve my bike and get me signed in. Then she guided me over to pick a pair of clip-in cycle shoes in my size. That maybe took half a minute... The girl was FAST, but not in a rushing way, she was just damn good at her job! After she handed me the shoes she showed me the locker area and showed me how to use the lockers, pointed out the bathrooms, and offered me a water bottle. The Ride: Let me tell ya, I have NEVER been in such a cool looking Cycle room! Like most cycle classes, the bikes were semi-circled around the instructors (CyclePro's) bike, but I really liked that the CyclePro's bike was on a platform for better viewing, PLUS there were screens about above her that not only showed her, but her side views as well. I thought that was really helpful to see her form from the side. Also, there were screens that showed individual scores and stats for each rider. I went during Friday night Happy Hour. The ride's theme was Drake vs Chris Brown. The instructor (CycleProSherrellC) made sure I was set up on my bike before class. She was so hype! She made the class challenging and fun! read more

I am FURIOUS. I did the monthly unlimited for $68, and told the girl at the front desk to cancel the unlimited & switch to the 5 class per week plan after the special. OF COURSE they forgot & charged $168 last month!!!! I emailed TWICE and no one got back to me, so I called. The first call a girl said she would have the manager call me at 11am, because she couldn't do reverse transactions. The manager NEVER called me. Love that! I called AGAIN 2 days later & got the assistant manager who said she would have the manager contact me... & guess what... NO CALL! Extremely embarrassing for me because I just referred my sister who **stopped going** right after I had issues. Five cycling stars ! Rukus is located in the same shopping center near whole foods and is right next to Nordstrom rack. The wife and I are always wanting to find new ways to exercise and have tried the other spin classes before so we wanted to give Rukus a chance as well. Currently on Groupon they have a deal where for $40 new clients get unlimited classes for two weeks. The staff are very friendly having your shoe size waiting for you in the cubby number of your bicycle. They also have locked storage where you can put your personal belongings. So far we love coming here and getting a good sweat in. And once you get the hang of it you might just wind up in first ! read more

I don't even think the retention department is real, after 34 minutes exactly the system will ask if you still want to hold or speak to an automated system and then hang up if you don't answer clearly enough but you stay on the line it will ask you the exact same question in another 34 minutes. This company is completely unprofessional. I have been trying cancel my membership for FIVE MONTHS. Phone call after phone call. Email after email. They always have an excuse. I call and ask for an update? No one calls me back. I say that I am very upset and that I wish to be reimbursed for the months I have been getting billed? They said they would submit it to corporate and never actually cancelled my membership or even told me that it was not actually cancelled. I call today to verify my membership was cancelled only to find out THEY STILL NEVER DID and they say no one can help me and that I have to call this number. I have been on hold for OVER AN HOUR. I call the store back and speak to "the manager" that allegedly answers to no one. I am absolutely beyond irritated and honestly this company owes me over $600 and over 5 hours of my time that I will never get back. I want to speak to corporate and everyone's answer is that they don't have an email or a phone number. The instructors here are great and this is in no way a reflection on them. This studio makes it overly difficult to cancel your membership. You have to go through a FAQ page to find the cancellation option. However, the only link clearly labeled to cancel your membership, tells you to contact the studio, which then cannot cancel your membership. The studio manager cannot help you because he is only "permitted" to tell you its somewhere on the FAQ page and to really take your time looking for it. I finally just clicked on every link that would allow me to request someone to contact me. It says someone will contact me in 3-5 business days. The whole process is super shady and just seems like they are trying to get you to miss the deadline so they can charge you more. The person who responds to these reviews always blames the reviewer or says it's a fake account or attack on the studio. When there are so many complaints about this process, the obvious solution is to make it easier, not blame those who no longer want your product. read more

Absolutely the worst spin studio I've ever been to as far as their management goes. Pre-covid, very lax about cleaning the bikes/room after each ride. (I haven't been back obviously). In my experience, very immature cueing and juvenile comments (regarding overall wellness) from one instructor in particular. They "closed early for the day" on two separate occasions while trying to use the pelaton bike (included in ultimate membership). The icing on the cake was them attempting to charge me for FIVE months of ultimate membership after multiple documented membership cancellations. I even received a letter from a law firm with a delinquent balance! Studio manager said she could do nothing about it and it was up to corporate to fix ....to which she knew no names of corporate members and had no phone number for them. Wtf?! Bottom line, a huge waste of my time dealing with this all, waste of money, and a compromised credit score. Not cool Rukus. Do better!! read more

You can certainly tell they take a lot of pride in preparing the best ride possible. Your bike may physically go no where, but you body and mind will travel great distances to crush your goals. I was able to try two different classes during the rush week. The staff greets you as soon as you walk through the door. You get a free water bottle, clip in shoes for your ride, mints, and towel. I was a little apprehensive on my first ride. While the instructor was great, I didn't click with her or the music. I tried it again even though I didn't feel comfortable with a new instructor and during that class I fell in love. Thomas brings so much energy. He helps you through the class and gives you motivation to finish with your best effort. They even provide lockers, toothbrush, toothpaste, soap, conditioner, shampoo, and deodorant. The only downside is that it's SO expensive... I was able to purchase a 5 class pass during rush month for $49, but I'm not sure if I'll be able to afford the class after that as the 10 pass class is about four times that amount. read more
