Stopped in this bar after having dinner in the area. Such a cute bar with good vibes and a nice ambiance. Service was okay. They bartenders seemed a little standoffish and not as friendly and welcoming as other places. We did not order food but had 2 fish bowl drinks and a margarita. It did not start getting busy until maybe 30 mins after we were there. Small bar with only 1 bathroom. Drinks were just okay. Had high hopes for the green tea fish bowl but it was way too sour/tart. Not sure if I would return.

This bar had such a cozy atmosphere with lots of fun lights! The seating area was clean and comfy too. There was only one bartender, but only a short wait to order our drink at the bar on a Thursday night around 8pm. We tried the HuckleBabe drink and it was so fruity and so good! My friend invited us here to celebrate his birthday and this place was perfect for it.

This place is cute! I love a good tiki bar and this had vibes and a happy hour. We were able to show up and be the first and see it for its beauty. The drinks were strong and delish and we enjoy the quiet before the storm. Look forward to going back for the ceviche!

The mob our server had to deal with. Such great decor!

16 of us blew in, right after a whirlwind of Timber's fans left. So, our poor server didn't have a second to catch a break. This was last night (April 15th). She was a pro and so accommodating; letting us all have a separate check. I was told the place used to be a German beer bar but now it's more of a tiki bar and the decor is freaking adorable! Who doesn't want some tropical cheer when it's cold and rainy outside?? They have very exotic drinks so I ordered the Habanero Honey Bear. That's made with Lunazul Tequila, lemon juice, habanero honey syrup, & topo chicotequil. I have no idea what that last ingredient is - but the drink is Deeee-lish! The friends I was sitting with all got the Ginger Paloma: Lunazul Blanco, fresh grapefruit juice, ginger syrup, Jarritos grapefruit soda. They said they were very tasty. I'm not a fan of grapefruit so I will just take their word for it. One friend ordered the Elote Dip (corn mixture topped with fresh pico, smoked jalepeno cream sauce, cotija and taijin served with fresh tortilla chips). For only $5, I was really jealous that I had just eaten at another restaurant. Next time I am getting that for sure! This place is a gem and I am so glad our friend (who bailed and didn't even show up) accidentally texted the group about this place, thinking it was the place we were starting at. We wouldn't have known about it had he not made the error. What a lucky co-inky-dink.

R&R is a great place to drop in for drinks. We came around 4:30, in time to catch happy hour, which went until 6. We got the Golden Hour and the Mai Tai. Both were strong and delicious. We also got some coconut shrimp and the spicy tuna poke bowl. The coconut shrimp was less coconut and more panko, but it was pretty good as a snack in a pinch. The poke bowl was alright but pretty fantastic as bar food, if you get what I mean. I'd definitely come back here again - the staff were super nice, the decorations were nice and the drinks were great. I was eying the slushees but just didn't have room! Don't sleep on this place.

My favorite tropical tiki bar in Portland! A staple for nights out with friends- favorite cocktails are the Ventiuno margarita and the Mai Tai. They have a DJ most Friday nights who always plays the best music! Just brought in a group of friends for brunch and the breakfast tacos and chilaquiles were fab!

The best nachos in the city.

This has turned into one of my favorite spots in Portland. The drinks are amazing! They have a large menu with plenty of options. I love the frozen rum runner or the classic pina colada. The nachos are honestly the best part. My wife is obsessed, obsessed with nachos. Like go out of our way, they have to be on the menu, she could eat them everyday type of obsessed. And she LOVES these nachos. Said they were the best she's had in Portland. High praise.

Tasty drinks! Nice and strong. Well balanced and not too sweet. 5/5 for the venti uno. Tasty tequila in there. Yummy lime flavor. Not sweet or fake tasting. 4/5 for the Mai tai. Didn't taste like the typical Mai tai. Kinda initially reminded me of capri sun. Tastier once you kind of mash the mint into the drink -- but also, this is preference. Strong! The drinks were made with care by the bartender who seems to take pride in his work! Nice, fun ambience with fun music. A happy bar. 4.5, but rounding up to a 5 because of the good service and fun ambience. HH 5-6pm is also a great deal. Outdoor and indoor seating. If you're in the area, worth checking out!

Twice in two weeks. Love the bar, staff, food, drinks, everyday happy hour, indoor decor&skylight, outdoor setup with tabletop fireplace, and everything else!

I think R&R is doing a fantastic job with keeping all Covid precautions and also letting people have a great time . Their outdoor seating is socially distanced and has individual small heated tables. This was one of the few places ,that we went to post the lockdown and felt quite relaxed because they were doing a great job with social distancing . The vibe is very tropical, tiki bar type and relaxed .The bar itself is pretty small but with outdoor dining a thing these days , it should not be a problem .Not the best place to go to ,in case you are with a big party , but with smaller intimate groups this is definitely the place to try . The drinks are bomb -they are unique , refreshing and have big generous servings of booze which is a stark contrast to other bars on 21st . Their Chicken nachos are also pretty great and are one of those things you look forward to after a drink or two. Service was efficient and the prices are reasonable . Parking can be a pain and you might have to circle the block a couple times or park a little bit further away .

First ones in for my birthday happy hour. Friendly bartender, delish elote nachos. Had one each of the fish and shrimp tacos. Fish is great; light texture breading. Sauces tasty. 12/10 would eat here again. Could totally sit and drink Mai Tai all night in my younger days. TWO DRINK MINIMUM lol. Oh! And the barkeep made a yummy non-etoh cocktail for my friend. #winnerwinnerfishtacodinner Oh! (pt 2) I was a cheap date! Happy hour prices circa 2010, the last time we were hanging in this neighborhood regularly. Hope it sticks around the next time I make it out.

Chicken nachos perfect for two! Real filling

Drinks are well worth the money! One drink and you're already feeling tipsy after the first couple sips! Decor is amazing! Chicken nachos are great! Highly recommend it!!!

A huge shoutout to our server, Heidi, who was incredibly knowledgeable and helped guide us through the menu. The enoki mushrooms and the hot buns were standouts and are a must-order. Mostly fat, the kind that never rendered down, and dry where there was actual meat. I left most of it untouched, and no one at the table ever caught it, small thing, but for a place this attentive to detail everywhere else, it stood out. Then the dessert thing happened. Birthday, server offers to treat us at the start of the meal. When it's time, she walks us through the menu, we get excited about the strawberry mochi cake, thinking it'll make up for the ribs. Nope. Turns out the treat was one specific dessert, the sweet potato cake, no other option. Kind gesture, weird way to land it. Left still hungry, wings and jojos at Jacks down the street fixed that. Maybe ordering different things or more of their Japanese side of the menu.

To speak about Teardrop Lounge, I should probably start with this:…read more Ladies and gentlemen, I present my favorite cocktail bar. Not the best -- I'm not arrogant enough to claim that. I haven't been to every cocktail bar in Portland, and saying something is the best usually says more about your lack of experience than your conviction. But favorite? That I can stand behind. And I want to get that out of the way early, because of the amount of praise I'm about to pour on this place -- fully earned, completely intentional. The biggest crime here is that I only discovered it two weeks ago, after living in Portland for a year. It had been recommended to me countless times, and I ignored it. A mistake. A painful one. But now that I've found it, I don't plan on making that mistake again. I'm not typically an Old Fashioned drinker. In fact, I usually hate them. But somewhere between curiosity and too many episodes of Mad Men, I decided to try one anyway -- fully expecting to confirm my bias. Instead, it completely flipped me. Bright, almost citrus-forward in a way that felt unusual but entirely intentional. Balanced, smooth, just enough burn to remind you what you're drinking without overwhelming it. It was the first time I actually understood the appeal. I'm pretty sure I grew a few chest hairs that night. That alone would've been impressive. But it didn't stop there. The space is beautiful -- clean, intentional, but not cold. The staff are excellent: personable, engaged, and most importantly, authentic. Not scripted, not performative. The kind of people you actually want to talk to, and hopefully, eventually be on a first-name basis with. Now, all of that gets it close to a perfect score. But what pushes it over the edge -- what makes this place stick -- is the White Russian. One of the first drinks I ever had. My dad's drink. Not because of The Big Lebowski -- that came later -- but because it's just always been his thing. And at some point, it became mine too. Typically, when bars try to "elevate" a White Russian, they ruin it. They overthink it. Swap ingredients, tweak ratios, add unnecessary flair. And more often than not, it ends in disappointment. Teardrop does the opposite. They respect it -- but refine it. The coffee liqueur actually tastes like coffee. The heavy cream is properly integrated, not just dumped on top. The vodka -- whatever they're using -- is clean, present, and perfectly measured. There's a subtle complexity to it without losing what makes the drink what it is. It's the best White Russian I've ever had. No hesitation. I've gone back twice just to make sure it wasn't a fluke. It wasn't. If someone asked me what my death row drink would be -- this specific cocktail, from this specific bar, is in the conversation. Easily. Teardrop Lounge doesn't just make great cocktails. It reminds you why cocktails matter in the first place. And that's why it's my favorite.

We came to Teardrop Cocktail Lounge while visiting Portland and were genuinely impressed…read more The cocktails were excellent -- thoughtful, well-balanced, and clearly made by people who know what they're doing. One of the best parts was how approachable the bartenders were. We asked for custom drinks based on our preferences, and both came out perfectly tailored. Creative without being weird, and strong without being sloppy. What really stood out was the price point. For the quality of cocktails, the prices felt very reasonable compared to similar craft cocktail bars in other cities. The vibe was also great -- relaxed, cozy, and not pretentious. It felt like a place where you could come for a special drink experience without feeling like you had to "perform" or order off a rigid menu. We liked it so much we actually came back a second time during our trip. Highly recommend if you're into well-crafted cocktails, friendly bartenders, and a laid-back but elevated atmosphere.
