We went for a celebration with a party of about 15 guests . The service rolled right along with drinks refilled and the food service was really well timed. My prime rib was a very generous queen cut and served rare as I like it. My husband said the fish and chips is the best he's ever had.! The reservation was made earlier in the day and when we arrived balloons were flying in two locations to welcome us. This place is so cozy & welcoming. The outside seating is such a great spot to relax and enjoy your food too. Their burgers and fries are probably one of the best I've had. The crab cakes had little to no filler, perfect portion and were absolutely amazing. The staff is very friendly and ensure every customer has a good experience, the cooks can accommodate gluten free, vegan, or any changes to food/drinks. The cooks and bartenders for sure know what they're doing. I've been two times now and both times were perfect, totally forgot to get pictures of the last burgers sadly but they were delicious. We really enjoyed our visit to Rumsey Tavern. It is located in the old hotel, which is being converted to apartments....a little odd entering and walking down a long hall. Once inside its bright, clean and spacious. Service is great, nice menu options, good portion sizes. I didnt love the crabcakes but they were decent. Very good fish and chips, polite staff. Only issue if you haven't been before it's a bit confusing to find it as it's pretty far into the building when you enter the marked side entrance, it's in the center of the building. You will pass a section that has seating for a very large dining crowd, ATM and server statue, Its a little past that point. Recommended. read more

You need to place eating the Smashed Burger on your bucket list. I have heard several people call it the best burger they ever had and they were not lying. The burger was cooked perfectly...just melted in your mouth. Even the way the cheese was prepared on the burger was amazing. There is so much flavor and ingredients the jalapeños added a slight hint of flavor. I paired it with the Crispy Brussels and you will be wanting to go home to try and make them. I am from Charleston, South Carolina, and we have great food there, but I came here and tried Rumsey Tavern. The ambience is wonderful. The service is superb with smiles everywhere and the food was seasoned to perfection. I got a ribeye and it was not over seasoned and it was cooked correctly with such flavor. My son had a crabcake and he said it was the best in town and he's lived here for quite a long time and he plans on coming back. I'm definitely going back again Sunday night before I leave so I can have some leftovers when I go home. Highly recommend if you're local you're missing out. read more

Great food and service! We got the Rumsey Runner cocktails to start! Excellent! Food was great! I order a custom burger and my wife ordered the grilled chicken sandwich. Both were very good!!! Rumsey Tavern is now revived and back in business. The location is inside the old Clarion Hotel, which is being renovated with apartments. This location will make it really nice for future residents. The location is bright and inviting with outdoor seating and plenty of indoor seating and you're welcome to sit at the bar if you'd like to do so. The menu is quite extensive however, at that time we decided to go with the all you can eat chicken wings special that they were offering for $20 . We had Old Bay, Jerk and Garlic Parmesan wings, all of which were nicely prepared, perfectly seasoned and they come 1 pound to an order which is six wings. Our server was spot on, always there to refill the drinks and check on wing order to get us refills of wings and have our order out to us quickly. She was very attentive to our table and cleared the table promptly without leaving anything sitting there. The wings always arrived hot and well seasoned and was a good mix of drums and flats It was an enjoyable meal with excellent food paired with excellent service. read more

We like to come for trivia on Tuesday nights. We have come other times not on trivia as well and our server was great. I forget his name but he was working the dining room on a Sunday by himself as others had called out and he did a fantastic job. The dining room is casual and comfortable with a full bar. On Tuesday's we like Spencer. He is a great server. Super friendly and you can tell he is working hard, but he and all the other servers are overwhelmed. We enjoy coming for trivia night, but they need to have more staff to keep up with demand. People were getting their food delivered to their tables an hour plus after the game started. The food is pretty good, but VERY overpriced. $23 for 6 chicken tenders when you can get $14.50 for 20 tenders at a local convenience store. The French onion soup is terribly inconsistent. Some weeks it's okay, others too salty, others flavorless. I've stopped getting it but my husband and stepson soldier on hoping this week it will be good. The shrimp appetizer is not worth the price. Ordered them and only got 5 (menu says 6) and they were very small. Since only getting 5 shrimp that came to $3 per shrimp. Actually most things on the menu are not worth the price being charged. The food tastes good, but it's not anything that knocks my socks off to warrant the price point. 3.5 stars but since Yelp doesn't do halves, I'm going with the lower end. read more

Devilled eggs were a bit runny (was not a fan, but far from terrible). Caesur salad was good (and I'm not a salad person). Christine our server (and perhaps the bartender here) was excellent with a capital 'E'. She was very attentive, friendly, and helpful. I've not tried everything on the menu, but I've had enough to confidently say you'll love whatever you order. Particular favorites: smash burgers, wings, French onion soup and beignets.
