We talked about it and Frank went to work. He completed work on both doors (due to the age of them and springs) and within no time, doors were working great again! Frank was outstanding! Very personable individual, knowledgeable, professional and down to earth. I couldn't have asked for more. Once again, Sun City quickly takes care of a problem without costing an arm and leg and does it quickly. They once again sent a technician who was simply amazing. I tried to re-program the others, but they would not re-program. Sun City Garage Doors sent a tech named Jaron out to my house. A young guy. He walked into the garage and immediately told me I needed to pay $179 to add a brace onto the garage door, or he wouldn't re-program the remotes. He saw my distress at the theft of the opener, and immediately tried to use it to upsell me. He was arrogant, condescending and rude. I threw him out of my garage. I then called another company (I won't mention their names here because I'm not promoting anything, just reviewing these guys), and the owner asked me to face time him. He then walked me through unplugging, resetting and reprogramming all of the remotes. It took about 20 minutes. When I offered to Zelle him money for the service, he declined. So I wrote him a great review. Conversely, these guys got the review they deserved. I will never use Sun City Garage Doors and I would never recommend them to anyone else. The other guy earned my business and I'll be with him forever. Post script: the garbage rely made me laugh. Like I'm going to go out of my way to call them to talk to them. I sent a project request to them. While 6-7 other companies responded as well I had them come over due to the still positive reviews. Arrived on the day I wanted and at the time I was available. LUIS was my tech and boy did I hit the jackpot with him. He showed me that the springs were indeed failing. I went with the heavy duty springs with like I forgot how many cycles more than regular springs. He installed them quick. He tightened the chain good and lubed everything up. Low lights included Mike stapling his business card to wall inside garage when I wasn't looking! I told him that wasn't cool and he responded he did it because previous customers said his stickers were too hard to remove! Seriously!?! Like what the actual freak? Additional things that were very disappointing included; 1) Failure to to let me know new opener was incompatible with existing keypad. Of course AFTER it was installed and they didn't have newer keypad and couldn't get for 2 weeks! They should've known and informed me that the new motor wouldn't work with existing keypad before installation. Damage to property: Using a staple gun to attach business card to our recently painted wall is unacceptable property damage. That alone is enough to never let this clown near my property ever again! Poor quality installation: I found compatible keypad on Amazon, that Mike offered to install, but he mounted it backwards and used the wrong screws, was carelessness and showed a lack of attention to detail and preparation. Additionally the camera on motor was not set-up correctly and their excuse was it was new system they weren't familiar with. Then why didn't you learn about BEFORE installing at my home. Lack of preparation: their excuse about the motor being "new" doesn't take away their responsibility to learn the product's basic functionalities (like keypad compatibility and camera) before selling and installing. I've spent hours researching and ordering the necessary key pad and correctly installing the mount myself I would NOT have agreed to a new garage door opener that requires a key pad that needs to be charged every few months or an additional adapter. tl/dr lack of preparation, unfamiliar with product they installed, poor quality installation, & no respect for my home.
