Update 7 years later: Had a different issue with the main door. Called Sun City again. Frank came out. Looked at the problem, gave me options and recommendations. We talked about it and Frank went to work. He completed work on both doors (due to the age of them and springs) and within no time, doors were working great again! Frank was outstanding! Very personable individual, knowledgeable, professional and down to earth. I couldn't have asked for more. Once again, Sun City quickly takes care of a problem without costing an arm and leg and does it quickly. They once again sent a technician who was simply amazing. I called this company after my garage door remote was stolen from my car along with my car registration. I raced home and de-programmed the remotes so the stolen one would no longer work. I tried to re-program the others, but they would not re-program. Sun City Garage Doors sent a tech named Jaron out to my house. A young guy. He walked into the garage and immediately told me I needed to pay $179 to add a brace onto the garage door, or he wouldn't re-program the remotes. He saw my distress at the theft of the opener, and immediately tried to use it to upsell me. He was arrogant, condescending and rude. I threw him out of my garage. I then called another company (I won't mention their names here because I'm not promoting anything, just reviewing these guys), and the owner asked me to face time him. He then walked me through unplugging, resetting and reprogramming all of the remotes. It took about 20 minutes. When I offered to Zelle him money for the service, he declined. So I wrote him a great review. Conversely, these guys got the review they deserved. I will never use Sun City Garage Doors and I would never recommend them to anyone else. Top of the line. call another garage company who was super honest. Installation was $250 quoted. They came by and said your motor worked fine. No issues. No need to exchange motor. I was then told that a "travel board" needed to be ordered and that the issue would be addressed promptly. The technician Miles told me that he will order the panel board and promise to install it himself. It has now been more two months with no resolution. I made multiple follow-up calls over several weeks. Each time, I was assured that the technician would return my call. Not once did I receive any follow-up communication. As it stands, I paid a significant amount for a repair that left me with additional problems that did not exist before the service. The lack of communication, follow-through, and accountability is unacceptable. I am extremely disappointed and cannot recommend this company based on my experience. They came out Early in the morning, and the technician right out the Gate just started Shitting on whoever installed our springs. He then proceeded to say I can make monthly payments, and encouraged an appointment for repair. Advised to buy the motor myself at HD and installation will be 300-500. I decline and said I'll give the office a call in the near future. He then left, a few moments later, I had to call the office because my garage was not opening at all. He came back assuming it's a repair because that's what the office told him. Green Valley Garage doors have merged with Sun City Garage doors. I had GVGD come out to fix my door that wasn't closing properly about a year ago. The technician moved a track back into position and the door worked perfectly. He didn't even charge a trip charge, so I told him that I would use them next time I needed service. I just had SCGD come out to fix a broken spring, and we just had everything replaced except the panels and track because the door is about 15-20 years old. Door is amazingly quiet now. If you're wondering how it ended, Run Right Garage Doors showed up within the hour, replaced the springs, fixed both cables, swapped out hardware, and added an extra year on the warranty, all for $275. My garage door's spring & cable broke unexpectedly yesterday after I closed it. I rent the house that I live in & I couldn't get my garage door open & I had no way in getting in touch with the rental company, go figure! Well what's a girl gonna do? I ended up calling the number on the garage door opener's motor device & spoke to a very helpful, friendly & nice young lady named Gisele. I explained my situation & she was able to send a guy out in the next couple of hours. I got a time frame of 4pm-8pm & was told I would get a phone call prior to the tech arriving. I was so thankful that I was able to get such quick service on such short notice. Estimates are free. Gisele was kind enough to advise me that the call would be coming from an 800#, which was good to know since I don't usually answer #'s I'm not familiar with but would have due to my situation. I got a call from a different female @ 6:29pm telling me the tech was about 10mins away. A nice, young man named Michael D. arrived @ my house. He told me his name & where he was from. I allowed him into the house since I couldn't let him in thru my garage & I explained the situation to him. I showed him where the spring was broken & told him how I wasn't able to lift the door open after pulling on the "emergency" rope. Michael found one of the cables broken. He was able to open the garage door for me, which didn't look so easy. It's heavy! He explained to me with the spring & cable broken it would cost maybe around $617.00. This was just an estimate because he didn't know if there also may be something wrong with the garage door opener's engine (not sure if that's what it's called but it's the box that's on the ceiling that operates the door up & down) & he wouldn't be able to know unless he was to fix everything that was wrong. I told him how I rent the house & wasn't able to get in touch with the rental company. I was torn because if I had Michael fix everything & paid out of pocket for it would the rental company/owner refund me what I paid? We talked about how the rental company probably works with a garage repair company who does work for a lesser price & he (of course) didn't know if I would be reimbursed. Michael was very patient with me while I made a quick phone call to a friend to get a second opinion as another friend of mine just told me to move my car out of the garage & let the rental company deal with it, now being the weekend I wouldn't hear from them until Monday (hopefully). He never pressured me into having him fix it & was honest with me from the beginning. He said he was more then happy to fix it if I chose to go his route. As much as I wanted Micheal to fix it I opted out as I feared I wouldn't be fully reimbursed by the rental company & he was cool with my decision. If it was up to me I would of had Michael fix it! They just installed a Liftmaster 2420L and charged me $1399 for it. When I googled the price of a new unit, it was around $349. I asked another garage place recommended here, and the guy was nice and patient to give me a quote over the phone; with install of $250, it should have been $600. With other supposed services, I'm surmising the total bill of $3420 could have been half that. First time, NEVER AGAIN. Sun City Garage Door installed our insulated garage door to replace the uninsulated garage door that came with our home we bought 12 years ago. It is wonderful to have a new quiet garage door. Quiet in keeping the wind out, and quiet with the belt drive to lift the door. The estimator came out and gave us a good price for first-class equipment including a new motor, rails, wall control, two excellent remotes, and a keypad outside on the door frame which we didn't have before. I cannot say enough about Sun City Garage Doors! I requested services on a Sunday at 10am, and Sun City promptly responded, with Braden showing up 1.5 hours later. Braden initially gave me two choices, the first of which would be fixed by no later than the next morning, but would slowly degrade my garage door belts and motor. The second option would take a week to fix and would be double the cost, but would preserve my garage door motor and belts. I chose the second option, with Braden getting to work on closing and securing my garage door until it could be fixed. Not even 20 minutes later, Braden knocks on my door and tells me he was able to secure my door, and we could actually proceed with the first option with no degradation to my motor or belts saving me hundreds of dollars. Best of all, it could be fixed the following morning. The following morning, I got a call that Braden was on his way with an expected arrival. Braden showed up on time and the work was done expediently. The professionalism of the staff, and Braden 's honesty, earned them a coveted spot on my community's Facebook page. Beware of this place! Do not use! They go off commission and overcharge by 2-3x more than other places. In addition, their workers are inexperienced and couldn't diagnose problem. They sent out Tyler to fix spring and it broke next day. They then claimed it was something else and quoted 1500 at least to fix!
