I'm not a runner. I, do however, walk very fast and for long distances on the treadmill at the gym. My old faithfuls died on me and I replaced them with trendy running shoes. My feet were slowly turning into hamburger and my shins were aching constantly. I walked into the store and was assisted by helpful, but not obsequious, sales associates who look like athletes and were very nice to the middle-aged schoolteacher. I dropped over $100 on a pair of shoes and will go back to this store to buy them again when they wear out. Not only have my feet healed, but my time and speed on the treadmill have also increased. Because of the numerous restaurants, bars and other eateries found here on Yelp, I had a little issue with pudginess... As a result, I had the brilliant (completely stupid) idea that I'd train for and run a marathon. Seeing how every great (terrible) idea needs a partner in crime, the GF decided she's hop on the running bandwagon to keep me company. Never having run distances before, there was a HUGE learning curve involved and Run With US played a very significant in me not killing myself, my body and my spirit. I was already pretty beaten-up and the GF was practically crippled when someone recommended checking out this place and I really don't think we could have made it more than a couple of weeks. When we walked in, we were greeted by a very friendly guy and asked if we needed help with anything. When I said that we needed help with EVERYTHING, he pretty much started at the bottom (shoes) and worked his way up. It was clear that he was a very experienced runner and knew his way around the products that the store carried. Though some might consider the selection to be a little on the limited side, they carry what you need and save you the gimmicky crap that a lot of sports stores will try and push on you. If you're a serious runner, they've got the gear, supplies, clothes and supplements to get you through it, from 3 to 26.2 miles. The other nice element of the service they provide is that everyone takes on a little different "ritual" when doing their distance running and I've never felt like product or advice was pushed, merely offered when asked. They really push the philosophy of "What Works For You?" and cater the service around YOUR needs. Depending on what you're buying, this place can run a little pricey, but I've found the most frequent purchases are things like Nuun tabs (electrolyte thingys) and sports drink mixes, where their prices are very moderate. One thing to note is they've got a great selection of hydration packs and I had gone through a number before being pointed in the right direction for my personal needs by the staff. Bottom line, great place for beginners and experienced runners under one roof. Recommend it to your friends and keep a great local running shop open! read more

Run With Us a great store packed with employees who run themselves and know their stuff. I've purchased 3 pairs of shoes there after being horribly fit with shoes at chain sports store. Nothing against that store but their employees just to have the expertise of a boutique running shop like Run With Us. I have been in different stages of my running experience each time I've purchased shoes or products there. First I was a pretty heavy beginning runner who needed some shoes that would help me get to started without injury. I brought in my old pair of shoes so the folks at the store could see how the soles were being worn down an indication of how I was running I had read. They looked at the shoes and examined my arches and stride and right away said that although the shoes I were wear were from a reputable shoe maker it wasn't made for someone with my arches. I was then able to try on about 6 pairs of different brands and take them outside to run on a bit. The guy that helped me out was patient and answered all of my questions. It was educational shopping trip. I've gone back ever since and always had my questions answered whether buying shoes or not. Recently, I bought some reflective lights so that I could take my 5 am runs without getting hit by vehicle. Not a big purchase by any means but still the sales person took his time with me giving me the + and - of each product and allowing me to make the final well informed choice. If you are going to buy shoes give yourself a some time to find the right product and Run With Us will do the rest. read more

Fantastic customer service. Came in wanting minimalist shoes and got fast, one-on-one help. I wound up with the Minimus Hi-Rez (an awesome shoe) and they even gave me a student discount. A week later, the rubber was ripping off the sole. They agreed it was a defect, and let me return them without any hassle, saving me $130. Bought new pair of running shoes today. As always great service, time and care taken to look at my old pair, and try on a few different brands in a similar style. Thank you Jose. This is the second pair that I have bought from them, and I really appreciate the feedback and knowledge they have. Having had a bad case of plantar fasciitis in one heel that took a long time to go away, I now am very serious about getting good shoes that will support me feet and arches properly when running. I run mainly 4-5 miles, one or twice a week at most. So nothing too hardcore, but I found out the hard way that even light running mixed with age (over 50 finally) and poor or worn out shoes can really get you in trouble. If you are looking for something to walk in, go to gym, or replace a specific model then perhaps going to the outlet shoe stores is fine. When buying a good quality running shoe I am convinced it takes a bit more careful consideration and staff knowledge. Run With Us has that and is a great local business and resource. read more

Love this place! Friendly staff with lots of knowledge. I only run a bit when I exercise. I also use my running shoes for my HIIT workouts and hiking. I purchased a pair of Adidas that felt awesome in the store. However, when I wore them to run and for long walks my foot slid around way too much and my feet hurt. They happily took them back and helped me find another shoe to fit my needs. I ended up with a pair of ASICS that fit my needs and foot perfectly. read more

Excellent, little shop! This store was recommended to me by two different people. One was an athlete at USC and the other was my physical therapist. I figured I'd give it a shot. I knew I needed to save up to buy a good pair of running shoes, but I just wanted to know what to look for in the meantime. The associate that helped me was extremely knowledgeable and really made sure I understood the principles behind what makes a good running shoe for me. I adore this place! I usually buy two pairs of shoes when I go and Ive been there about 5 times. YES, the shoes are $$$. But honestly, Ive found the models are comparatively priced online. And with the amazing service, I dont feel bad about the $10 price difference. AND, it's your feet- the right shoes impact so much! Few things: I HATE running. Im a walker (for work) and that is what I need. I have recently started running- ugh, I know. Im only doing this as an animal rescue organization has been chosen to benefit from some 5k-marathon races. I'm doing it for the animal! Im having some problems with my shins and a quick phone call helped. Ill be heading in to take a look at: potentially new shoes or compression shocks. Parking: meh. About 4 tandom spots. Can be challenging if you are with someone who has difficulty walking. Great fun and friendly staff. Had the worst experience with this store. I had heard how good they were so when in Pasadena 01.12.19, I thought I get some new running shoes..First the parking lot was literally like a lake, literally filled with water and with such limited parking available. i had not where else to go.. I asked a staff member who was standing at the door if he had any idea how deep the water was - he just shrugged and said "How would I know" RED FLAG 1.. Upon entering the store - was not greeted, a guy stacking boxes in the bathroom are looked at me as if to say "what do you want" RED FLAG 2. An young man followed me, totally disinterested. Dude - its your job to sell me something. I am not in the store for nothing. I started telling him what type shoe I wanted and why, he stood there flipping some sort of cards in his hand like he was about to shuffle a deck.He had no knowledge of the products.. FLAG 3 - The store was not busy but no one tried to help at all. I usually frequent another running store in Los Angeles. But I was at Vroman's so I decided to give this place a try. Immediately upon walking in, an employee asked me if I needed help. And they had a few people in there already! I said I was looking, but did ask if they had a Garmin watch I was looking to upgrade to. And they did! They kindly held it behind the counter for me while I took my time trying on some new running outfits. They asked me several times if anything was working for me and never pressured me to buy anything. If I didn't like the fit of something, they suggested another popular option. These guys are so nice and help you get just the right equipment for your needs -- bring your old stuff to show them, let them watch you run to make their recommendations - they have solutions ! For example, zero-pronation control recommended for my gait, Achilles pain relief through heel inserts, etc. My first various pairs of shoes were giving blisters so the Run With Us guys got me into Brooks or Saucony shoes with a wider toe box, anti blister socks, and the best yet: TriSlide spray truly, truly works - now I can just quick spray and jump in any shoes or socks without any extra padding :))) no blisters anymore even on 18 mile desert climb :))))) read more

This place is good if you need help finding shoes. They measure your feet and legs. Then observe your natural gait. For more testing they will have you walk and run bare foot on a treadmill. I was having problems with my left foot but unfortunately it wasn't my shoes I had damaged my nerves. But their service was still great and my shoes lasted me a longgg time. That says a lot my coach put my through some extreme training. read more

He checked the wear pattern on my old shoes, did a balance test and gait analysis, asked lots of questions about my running behavior, and ultimately told me what kind of shoes I would need. He was spot on! After measuring my feet he brought me a pair of shoes to check for size and width. Based on that he brought me several pairs of shoes to try. He explained the features and benefits of each shoe ...he really had great product knowledge and never tried to "sell" me a particular shoe. He encouraged me to run around outside in all of the shoes. He was really intent on helping me find the perfect shoe for me, which he did.
