Parking: Not many parking spots and if you do find parking in the lot.... They are tandem parking spaces. Hard to get out if you're the first car in. If you want to avoid this problem, park in the residential area. Service: Due to the condition of my Brooks DYAD 7, I knew it was time to retire them and go on a mission to find my next running shoe. Chris (salesman) was very informative and suggested some shoes to support my running style. In total, I tried on 4 different pairs of running shoes today. Felt weird running back and forth in the store.... I think I ran a lil over 10 times with all those shoes. It's an investment, so I have to know for sure if those shoes are for me. Verdict: The last shoe that was suggested was a keeper! I chose the Adidas Supernova Boost Sequence 7. Haven't heard much about Adidas running shoes, but Chris reassured that the shoes I chose is great! They didn't have my size in the desired color, but offered to order and have shipped to my house in 5 days. It's been 7 days, and the rather rude salesperson I just spoke to told me "oh I don;t know why he'd say 5 days. It'll probably 10 days." I went back to have my feet reevaluated. Obviously, Brooks Addiction 10 felt too heavy for me and size 8 was too big as well. So Rosario helped me out. From the moment I walked in I was given direct attention from someone who knew what he was talking about. He didn't sigh when the shoe was not right, he found something that fit my needs. This is my first time at Run With Us and it certainly won't be my last! I called ahead to see if they had the product I was looking for, they were happy to help and were able to tell me they had in stock what I was looking for, so I headed over. The first thing I noticed when I arrived at the location was they had a parking lot! Awesome! It's modest in size and shared with other businesses (the signs designated which business the parking spots were specifically for). This was a major sigh of relief for me because I had huge parking issues a mile and a half away where the typical Old Pasadena public parking lot structure is. I used to head over to those main streets regularly and liked the 90 minutes of free parking, but it was a HUGE bummer that due to COVID it is now cash only. Cash carries more germs and most establishments won't even take cash at this time, so it really makes no sense to me why this happened. This parking structure is like a 25 minute walk to the running store, so doesn't really apply here. The store is a modest size but carries an array of gear, clothing, shoes etc for men and women. This is my second time at Run With Us with my boyfriend and we've had great experiences both times. We're relatively new to competitive running, and have gained so much knowledge just being in the store and being helped by the associates. Been suffering from plantar fasciitis for a while now. 1st in my right foot & now in my left foot. I also work in healthcare and am on my feet 10+ hours a day. My 1st podiatrist wanted me to buy $260 shoes with no explanation as to why or how they would help me. I'm on podiatrist #2 now who reccomended either clogs or Hoka shoes and actually explained why they would help but also told me what to look for in any shoe I buy. I did try the clogs 1st and they helped the plantar fasciitis, but only because they made the rest of my foot hurt so bad I couldn't feel the original pain. I quickly returned them. And went back to my normal painful shoes. BUT, today was the day...today at lunch I decided I couldn't live with the pain anymore. So I hobbled over to Run With Us. I was greeted as soon as I walked in and explained my issues and what I was looking for. (In addition to Hoka shoes I was also interested in some insoles.) I got to stand on the fun little machine that mapped my feet & showed all my pressure points. It was fascinating to see that! They watched how I walked & measured my feet then brought out my Hoka shoes in the perfect size. I was asked to take a little stroll around the shop to see how they felt, I think I even stumbled a little bit when I started to walk because I was not expecting them to be so light. They felt great! Next, we moved on to insoles. I think I tried out every insole they offer and finally we found the perfect one! I wore my new shoes out of the store and actually walked normally back to work. (The 1st time in months I have walked normally & not limping!) The people at Run With Us really know their stuff!! Service was fast, efficient and friendly. I wish I had went there sooner! Talk about customer service! Walked in knowing very little about running shoes, given multiple ankle sprains over the years, I completely wrote off running as a form of exercise. Then staff member Rosario totally changed all of that. My feet and gait received complete evaluations. I was informed about different types of exercises I could be doing to help my ankles, types of surfaces on which to run, stretches, pain relief, and more. She brought out several types of shoes and encouraged me to prance away. Now this is how you sell shoes: Educate your customers and inspire people to run. Yeah parking is tight, but so what? You should be walking and running more anyhow! They also have a wide selection of accessories and gear to turn your run into a runway. Absolutely amazing. Thank God I found this gem. I came in today and was helped by Daniel, and Daniel was super knowledgeable, calm, patient with all my questions, extremely helpful, and also experienced in knowing what was good for different types of situations/feet/etc especially from his experience as a trained runner (I think professionally, from what it sounded like based on his knowledge and experience). He even had me try this amazing technology called Aetrex in which you step into it from different angles and it literally does a complete thorough analysis of everything about your feet, from images of it from all angles which can show whether you supinate/pronate, whether you are truly flat footed or only seem flat footed or whether you have a high arch, what areas you tend to place more pressure on when standing/walking, etc., you can even email yourself the results, it is incredible. After discussing my shoe/feet/joint issues and thorough analysis of my feet and prior experiences/info, he immediately came out with the batch of shoes he wanted me to try based on that information, and he was able to tell me the differences between each shoe that correlated with how each one felt different and how that can apply to me. He also was willing to tell me his observations of how each different shoe affected my walking, such as how my feet seemed more structured in certain ones or where they may spill out more on other ones etc. He also gave me info on how often shoes should be replaced and why, and that confirmed to me what I recently heard about shoes needing to be replaced every 6 months, and here I was the whole time wearing the same worn out shoes for years after they lost all of the support on the outside edges which were making me roll my ankles (not good!). In the end, our top 3 that we both mutually decided on for me were the (1) Brooks Dyad 11 (his top choice based on how they seemed to stabilize/provide structure for my feet), (2) the Saucony Echelon 8 (the ones I ended up deciding on since I loved the way they felt the most out of our top 3, and he said these did have more cushion than the Brooks Dyad which has a firmer base instead), and (3) the Saucony Triumph 19. There is also less pressure for me to decide on the one shoe, knowing now that I am supposed to replace them after about half a year anyways due to shoes losing their cushion and support over the wear and tear over that time, so I am looking forward to trying the other ones later on when it's time to replace, especially with a job that requires me to be on my feet all day which is often so hard on my feet and shoots up to my knees. This is definitely much more tailored to focus on the health of your orthopedics/feet compared to other typical shoe places that you find in the mall etc, and this is exactly what I needed. For those of you that are focused on finding shoes that are good for your joints and to prevent feet/joint/knee problems or run alot etc, this is the kind of place for you! I am so excited to experience life-changing shifts in how picking the right shoes/knowing my foot type/how often to replace shoes etc. will create for my joints and years of pain from doing the wrong thing. After a 2 1/2 year bout with plantar fasciitis in both feet, I have truly come to appreciate wearing the right pair of shoes, especially for running half marathons and trails and such. Three different tries at custom orthotics finally found the right combination of arch and heel support, and wearing the right shoes with midfoot support... Plus a lot of rest, ice, and stretching... Have made all the difference. Now it's more about management, instead of recovery. I don't ever want to go through that again... which is why I will never buy a pair of athletic shoes from a sporting goods store or discount store ever. This store specializes in connecting folks with the right set of shoes for their unique feet. High arches? No arches? No problem.... Stop in, and speak with one of the helpful associates at the store, who will make several recommendations to you based on their experience and how your feet measure. With size 13's, no arches to speak of, and some hard custom orthotics, there are only a few shoes that work for me. Thankfully, Run With Us has a huge selection and knowledgeable staff.
