I tried calling, no response. I messaged them on Instagram about their hours, and over 48 hours later, no response. We ran across this place by accident. We were driving to a brewery in Rhode Island and this place popped up and we said hell let's go here instead. We pulled up and the place is large. But a little confusing on identifying where to walk into the barn. When we originally walked in it was like are we in the right area only because we were in the production room. The young man that greeted us had a deep Boston accent. He was super nice and allowed us to sample what we wanted to sample. The wine was tremendous and we purchased several bottles to go. Love this place. It's another place where you do not judget a book by it's cover. This was our favorite winery in the state that we had visited. read more

You can bring your own food and either sit indoors or outside, depending on the weather. They frequently have live entertainment and their staff is always friendly. Their wines have changed so much over the years that it is hard to keep up with the ones that I have enjoyed. Went to Running Brook Vineyard & Winery for the first time. While I'm more of a sweeter wine aficionado the staff went out of their way to help match me with things that would be most appealing. Even pulling something from the barrel that isn't bottled yet. Did the five wine tasting and then tried a couple of the infused liquors. I will say the staff goes above and beyond which really earned them the 5 stars in this review. read more

Perhaps a favorite amongst locals, but after having been to four other nearby wineries, we found this one to be the least enjoyable. Pros - large menu, beautiful barrels, welcoming servers, fair pricing... Cons - We didn't like a single wine, and we tried 10 of them. The atmosphere was so-so with plastic folding tables and echoey high ceilings. The small wine glasses arrived in a muffin tin with dry erase marker numbers. The bathroom was unheated, dirty, with cheap products and rusty fake plants. The live music was nothing worth noting, and the place felt crowded with twelve people. Overall, if this place gave itself a little more TLC and some upgrades, it could be worthy of a second visit, but until then we'll carry on to the next watering hole. read more

Found this place while looking for something to do in a rainy Saturday. It is definitely not your usual winery. Tasting room is a little small but they utilize the space well. They have entertainment on Saturday's. It does get busy inside once the weather gets nice they do have outdoor seating. They do grow and make all of their own wines on property. Make sure to bring own food as they do not serve snacks. Everyone who works here is super nice. We were a group of four and had a great time. read more

I was so stuck between 4/5 stars but you know what 5 it is. I went on Groupon and found this place on there I LOVE WINE TASTING. Any-who I bought the Groupon for 2 wine tastings and headed out, under an hour drive from Providence, not to bad at all. When you arrive the gps might be a little crazy and tell you it's farther down BUT you will be the flag that says wine tasting so just look for that when you get close enough. When you pull in it's a bumpy little dirt road. It does get super muddy be prepared ( Ladies with heels ). They have a beautiful outdoor patio for when it's warm out they have live music , a little stage for the talent and a restroom outside, but for the colder times like for when I went there's a little shed like place inside that you do the wine tasting. At a glimpse it's very small because there's all types of machinery for the wine making in here ( not sure about actual wine making in this exactly building but the machines are here). There's about 4-5 tables , so if there's a lot of people you will be sitting with strangers. They have the bars set up with the wine tasting sheets and glasses ready for you to be informed and to choose. What I love about this location is you're allowed 6 with this Groupon but the deals are 6 wines for 10.00 and 10 wines for 16.00 which I think is beyond amazing. And they do have a nice sized selection to try. The categories are White & Rose , Reds and Dessert ( not actual dessert). If you're a sweet wine gal like I am the desert section of wines are AH-MAZ-ZING! When you walk in to your right is the live entertainment the day I went it was Emily Mills and Nick moreira , they have beautiful voices ( they do weddings ). I really enjoyed listening to the wide range of music they sing and play on the laptop while I sipped away. When you walk in go straight for the bar area and a worker will assist you. I had a gentlemen named Ian a great fellow , very knowledgeable and charismatic. He was great and gave great service I sincerely appreciated it. My mother was my date we kind of picked the same things , sweet tastings but we also tried others just to give it a go. I will give my top 2 favorite and my reasonings but they have 17 to choose from. My absolute favorite was under the Dessert category it was called 2015 Frost , it's sweet it tastes peachy and it just great I thought I was drinking white grape juice. I have it 10/10! My second favorite was oddly under the Reds called Vida Doce ( Sweet Life Red ). It's a medium bodied sweet style red , once again a sweeter taste reminded me of a tasty sangria. I gave it 8.5/10. I would absolutely give this place a go, provably when it's warm out to get the whole experience and have more room I will be back! Oh and the bottle prices range from 14-34.00 a bottle and 5-12.00 a glass. Oh wait I almost forgot I've never had this before they had 2 wines that had pretty high liquor content. Under the desserts they're called Ruby Frost and Jeropiga , they're strong and can get you messed up the ruby Frost has brandy in it and you can taste it for the men ( like my fiancé who like hardcore drinks). They were not my cup of tea but they're indeed strong and they charge 8-9.00 for a 3 oz pour of these , so try them in your wine tasting first it's worth it before buying an extra side of it. read more

Nice and knowledgeable people, the wine I didn't care for at all. Almost everything we sampled tasted like vinegar, in particular the reds. The interior/decor leaves a lot to be desired. We stumbled across Running Brook while doing the wine tour a few years back. We had been to Napa the previous summer and were trying to recreate the feelings without the travel. The trail was a nice weekend. We packed our picnic lunches, stayed at a local motel and played tourist. The last stop was Running Brook. We were blown away by the wines. Everything else just helps make Running Brook a better place to visit. We have made the 100 mile trip been back to Running Brook several times a year ever since. We try to attend as many of the events as possible. We bring foods that compliment the wines, and then have enough on hand to share with others including RB newbies stumbling into the festivities for the first time. We have become real friends with Pat, Pedro, Beudros and especially Manny, even though it is possible to catch Manny in one of his many Manny moods. Even more, we have connected with people who like us, are thrilled to have a little bit of our very own Napa we can drive to. We have served these wines to our friends and look forward every year to the new gems that Manny has crafted. Come to Running Brook for the wines. Our time was short but very sweet and we became members. My FAVORITE vineyard on the coastal wine trail. It's not pretty to look at but once you start talking to Manny the owner, you'll think you just got dropped in the middle of Napa. Our tasting was free and he must have let us try at least 10 different wines. We asked all kinds of questions and he enthusiastically gave us all kinds of information and an education on his operation and wine making as well as a good family history. You don't get the swanky slate countertops of anything here, just a counter with some oyster crackers and a spit bucket, but the wine was top notch (loved the Chardonnay and Vidal Blanc) and the owner, our host, was awesome. When you go in, you're also standing in their barn amongst the hundreds of wine barrels which is just neat. Outside they have a picnic area so bring along the family and friends and a lunch. Manny told us to picnic out there anytime we wanted so I'm extending the invitation. I've been to Napa quite a few times and this place is the only one around that even comes close to the same type of experience. There's no twenty-something behind the bar talking about how she brings this wine to all her parties, just a super nice dude who runs his own winery and wants to share it with everyone. Oh, and the wine is cheap too!! Since we came here, we've been telling everyone to go and we'll definitely be back, probably very soon. read more

Not impressed at all. The wines were ok, not great. Big Red Wine person, theirs were very bitter. The place itself is horrible. It's relatively new yet looks like they just threw it together and never bothered finishing it. It get the old rustic look thing, it didn't translate well. Great wine! Stopped in while passing through and ended up getting three bottles. Though they unfortunately are unable to do tastings at the moment due to COVID regulations, they did a fantastic job describing the flavors and notes of each wine. Nice little spot in Dartmouth. We were there on a very hot and humid day, so no one was outside listening to the live music. I can see where it would be very popular on a cooler day. The staff were all super friendly when we were there. We opted to taste all the wines which I believe were 13 total. I prefer dry wines to sweet and quite a few of their wines tend towards sweet, which is the norm for wineries in this area. My favorites were the white pinot noir and the cabernet franc merlot. They really do have a wide range of wines, so there should be something to please everyone. They also have Brandies and Liqueurs. They weren't allowed to do tastings for those yet while I was there, but I've heard they now can. I did pick up a cinnamon liqueur and really like it. Definitely worth a stop. read more

As others have mentioned, this isn't the best looking winery but the people who work there are very friendly and the wines are pretty good especially for this area. The tasting area is very basic but you get to sample 6 wines which is generous in my opinion. They also have seating outside if you'd like to bring a picnic lunch or purchase a bottle (they'll open it for you and even lend you glasses to use.) We opted out of the tasting but upon mentioning that we'd like to just buy a full bottle to drink outside, the woman working gave us small tastings of a few wines to help us choose. We chose the Unoaked Chardonnay which was just sweet enough and almost had after notes of honey. It was a great wine to accompany the beautiful early summer day. Only as we were leaving did we realize that you can actually walk the long dirt road down to the vineyards. We saw another couple that had taken their wine glasses and bottle with them as they strolled and I think that would be the best way to enjoy this little winery. Charming, quaint, picturesque - all the things you want in a winery, of course. What Running Brook lacks in, maybe, sophistication it more than makes up for in hospitality, location and most importantly, the quality of their wines. I was invited to Running Brooke by my dear friend Sarah VM, and honestly had no idea what to expect. While I've meandered the hills of Napa, I hadn't yet ventured into the world of New England Wines, and from what I had heard, I wasn't missing much. But what I was missing was Running Brook - seriously, you guys - their reds are on par with some of those I had in Napa. Maybe you think I'm crazy, but you haven't yet tasted their Cabernet Franc. Clearly run with love by an adorable Portuguese family, sitting down and chatting with these people about their wines is as fun as sipping it. The landscape is beautiful, and while a simple barn structure houses the tanks, bottling and tasting areas, I found it pretty cool to be exposed to the inner-workings and quite enjoyed seeing their entire process first-hand. If you become a member (which is free), you get dibs on tickets to their amazing events (pig roast, anyone?) and discounted rates on their wines. It's a really great program and, considering the quality of the product and the endearing team of folks behind it, that's an easy deal to take. read more

We try to do the wine tour in RI/MA at least once a year and this winery won hands-town this year. This is the only one where we purchased a full case. I am not even a fan of chardonnays and theirs were excellent. The wine-makers know their stuff. When you drive in you might think you have made a mistake. Not a fancy tasting room but who cares? Don't let the ghetto building of Running Brook fool you. When you pull into the lot, its unassuming that great wines are produced here. In fact, this place surprised me but in a good way. When you walk in, you can definitely smell the wine. Prior to our knowledge, at 6 am , they were bottling their white merlot. We are waiting at the tasting counter and at first it doesn't look like anyone is here besides the bottling folks. Then out walks this tiny man greeting us in his lab coat and ear plugs around his neck. He allows us to come back with him and we got to see the bottling process. Very cool! Then he tells us we can take a walk to the vineyard and he will give us a glass of wine while we explore. ( he gave us a glass of what they were bottling, the white merlot and it was delicious. Surprising, considering I think this is way better then the normal red merlot) Little did I know, this man would become our best friend by the end of the tasting and day. He showed us where the vineyard was and my bf and I were on our way. It's a few minutes walk pass the corn field and a small vineyard is right behind it. Jay tried a grape and it was sour. Hah. We walked back and thus started out tasting. We learn the tiny man's name is Boutros and he is from Lebanon. He doesn't own the vineyard but his friend, "the dentist" Pedro does. He doesn't get paid and does this because he enjoys it. And you can tell from his personality and he loves people and loves interacting with folks. He tells us he's 19 and he will need to check out IDs. The wines here are really good. My favorite was the unoaked chardonnay which I ended buying a bottle of, it was only $13! The vidal blanc is also really good and Boutros mixed it with a cabernet franc/merlot and the taste was even better. They also make dessert wines and a champagne which is good and had a nice sweet flavor to it. By then, its been an hour since we started and more groups show up. Boutros gives them the same spiel about being 19 and needing to check IDs. One couple came in with their mother and they didn't get the joke and were a couple of stiff since the wife didn't like the wines and her husband kept having to her tell its ok to pour it out. This guys wife was too nervous about having to drink and then drive. the place is really small and can get crowded when more people show up but they are very good at coming up with space. Boutros made conversation with us and we befriended him quickly. After the tasting, we could try any of the wines again if we liked. He would pour us whatever we liked and wanted to try again. We really liked Boutros and told him we wanted to come back and have a bottle with him after we made visits to the other vineyards around. We came back at the end of the day, and we finished off 2 bottle of wine and he let us have 2 bottles of the white Merlot to take with us home. He told us we were part of his family. We talked and he told us how he met his wife and we talked to his son on the phone. Who knew that this charming little vineyard would take us in so quickly. Not only is the wine great but the people part of it are great. Pedro was really good and let us hang out after he left for home. If you have a large group, you can make arrangements ahead of time and your group and tour the vineyard and get a more in-depth look at the wine process. Overall, visiting Running Brook is a must. You will love and come back for more. If you are lucky to meet Boutros, this will be a vineyard/winery you will never forget. read more

Do not just this book by its cover. This smaller vineyard isn't as pretty as some of the others (ok it is ugly) on the coastal tour but they have some of the best wines and it is a great place to sample their products. Likely you'll be served by one of the owners. Pedro Teixeira (spelled the same was Mark but pronounced differently) is a dentist by day and a vintner on weekends. What you get here verses other local wineries is insight on coming wines and the details on how the current wines were made. I loved a quick blend of their ice wine (very yummy by itself) and the cab franc. You'd never try it at home but it was delightful. Of the coastal vineyards Running Brook is in the top 2-3 with Newport and Sakonnet. I'd make this your last stop at the end of the day when there isn't much of a crowd and you'll be glad you did. Be willing to ask a few questions sample any of their wines (unlike some which limit) and maybe you'll get to sample one of the unfinished wines like we did - the vidal blanc 2008 will be a great wine once it is bottled. I went here on an outing with my coworkers this past weekend and it wasn't really up to par compared to other wineries I've gone to. Slightly disappointed. They offer 6 wines to taste for $10, which is actually really reasonable however I was shocked that they only offered one wine they personally make at the winery to try. But then again, im not really quite sure if they actually make more than one wine. This winery was a lot smaller than other ones I've been to. The inside building was small itself not offering much sitting space. A group of 14 of us went, they had the tables separated strangely, one table was sat vertically, the other horizontally. I did ask to see if we were able to put two tables together so we could all sit together like a dining room table kind of setting however the staff member responded a little rudely and said no without explanation. So of course I asked why, he sighed and explained there wouldn't be enough walking room and it would take away from his table spaces. I think he definitely could have mentioned that in the beginning and we would have been fine with it but the way it came off when he explained didn't seem appropriate. He also rushed a little with the wine tasting, barely got to enjoy my wine before he was ready to pour the next cup. Granted we did plan for 3 pm but didn't start until 4 pm, however it was not full by any means and no other tables were having the wine tastings at the time. read more

The bad news is that they are out of reds, the good news is that the whites are very good. The band was Saucy Jacks. They play mostly 70's thru 90's and they do a great job.
