This is my second review. The first one was two years ago on Thanksgiving. This year I got my Thanksgiving dinner. It was tasty, The turkey was moist and the mash potatoes and stuffing were very good. My biggest complaint was the beans. They were chewy and tasteless. I quit after one bite. The poor casino must be having lots of problems. I just live down the road from them and I go there every couple weeks. I always begin by going over to the free soda machine. Tonight I wanted Mountain Dew but all that came out was soda water. I tried the lemonade and the same problem. Oh well we headed off to dinner. I ordered a Mountain Dew and told the waitress about the problem with the machine. She said they had a different machine and she brought me a Mountain Dew. Suprise surprise, the same problem. I doubt I was the first person to mention it. On other nights I go in get a free soda and get dinner. After dinner there is a Wheel of Fortune slot machine I like to play. Its the only one I ever play. Two weeks ago the Wheel of Fortune machine would not take my money. After waiting a bit to see if someone would come check it out, I left. Fast forward to today and I sit down to play my favorite game and I guess it wasn't my lucky night because it had the same problem. I waited a bit and nobody showed up so I left. I don't know who is running the show but it appears they aren't doing a very good job. Problem after problem keeps coming up. Robinson Rancheria is only 1.5 miles East and I think I will be going to them for awhile. Maybe in the future I will give Running Creek another chance. My husband and I were enjoying our Friday night at Running Creek. We wanted to stay a little later and become hungry so we decided to order some chicken strips from the cafe. They served 3 chicken strips over fries. I ate two chicken strips while my husband started on the fries. He then took a bite of his chicken and thought it tasted bad and spit it out. Come to find it was raw. I then walked up to the cashier and told her the situation and showed her the raw chicken. she asked if I would like my money back or another chicken strip. I told her no thank you but would like some kind of documentation that this incident took place in case my husband gets sick. She said, "no problem I will write some up". Nothing happened so I asked for a manager. The manager came out went directly to her kitchen staff and had a conversation. The manager approached me and told me it was our fault that we ate the raw chicken. She also told me I yelled at her cook and threatened to Sue. Two other managers came out who were only concerned about us suing them than our welfare. In fact they told me that we threatened to Sue them so we had to leave. They then escorted us to the door and banned us. They never once said they were sorry or gave any sympathy to the fact that my husband may become ill. They did not show any signs of caring about our well being. They made us feel terrible. They're only concern was that they may be liable for giving a customer food poisoning. It was like a nightmare. I felt like I could wake up any minute. NEVER going back. Yelp makes you put at least one star. Otherwise I would not. read more

This was my second time stopping in at the Running Creek Casino and grabbing a quick meal. It's a nice casino and restaurant in Upperlake, CA right in Rt20. The staff seems friendly and attentive. It's owned by a local Native American tribe, the Habematolel Pomo. I had lunch a few months ago when in town and stopped in this morning to try breakfast. I had the biscuits and gravy breakfast special and it was fantastic. Great portion size and was very affordable. Coffee seemed generic, perhaps they should offer up some specialty brews being so close to the northwest region of the country. I didn't play any in the casino but they appear to have a good variety, the only thing missing was lodging and perhaps a sports book or something unique to draw more visitors and give them a place to stay. read more

The food is generally good however I once had pasta that was inedible because it was so greasy. I went there on my birthday and was told that the special for birthdays was spend 10.00 then get 10.00. Afterwards I checked my mail and had 10.00 free without any stipulation of spending 10.00. I talked to the manager and they refused to put the birthday money on my card stating I already had it. Since I had to pay for it that kinda cancels it out. I wonder about there math ability's? As for gambling it's generally pretty tight a lot of the time, but have won some. This is a review of the Wildfire Grill, which is the restaurant inside Running Creek casino. I've been here a number of times already and was very pleased with each visit. They've got a nice menu that includes gourmet pizza, steak, fish and all the regular things you'd find at a nicer place. What you'll be surprised at isn't necessarily the selection, but the quality and the pricing. I've gone and just had their $5 salad which, logic dictates, would leave me wanting a meal. Not in this case - the $5 salad had fresh greens, caramelized walnuts that tasted as if they had done them themselves and other treats that you would never expect for such a bargain. The salad is huge. Lately I've been going for the $15 porterhouse steak which covers a good portion of the large plate. On the side are nicely-prepared veggies and you get a bread basket too. The deal with this is that you get $5 in gambling credits with this steak reducing its effective price to $10. For a decent steak! The restaurant doesn't smell like smoke at all despite smoking being allowed in the casino and it's beautifully decorated - probably the nicest looking establishment in the whole area. The staff is very friendly and is prompt and the restaurant is even open 'till 11 - that's later than any other place in the county I believe. The Wildfire Grill is absolutely worth a gamble, even if gaming isn't your thing. I would call this a sure bet. read more

The menu is very nice, with a good variety of fish, fowl, and beef, as well as some wonderful-sounding gourmet pizzas. The quality and presentation of their food is outstanding! GOOD SERVICE. The meal I had the salad made from heirloom tomatoes and the mozzarella with balsamico and pesto was sooo excellent. Never have a enjoyed an appetizer. Caprese was the name. I had a Delmonico blackened Steak which was good and tasty as well. I had a thick piece of chocolate cake which was delicious as well. Been here a little over a year ago for the buffet and they had crab legs, korean short ribs, and shrimp cocktail. We also were served rolls at the table. However they only offer sad clams, mussels which were ok, and fried and coconut shrimp (can barely taste any coconut). As we were checking in I asked about the optional seafood tableside that they mention on their website and advertising for the buffet. I was laughed at and told they stopped that a year ago. False advertising at its finest. The buffet is filled with salads, pasta, some random asian food, the limited shellfish, and prime rib. For $20/person it isn't worth the money. The prime rib dinner is $8.99 and seems like the better option as the prime rib was the only good thing on the buffet and you get rolls brought to your table as well. When we got up to grab another plate of food in an attempt to make the buffet price worthwhile they began clearing our table. We got back just in time before they were giving our seats to someone else! They finally brought over our place card to notify the staff that the table was still occupied. The waitress was friendly and attentive which was a plus. The casino is filled with penny machines and I couldn't find any of the traditional one lined nickel or quarter machines which was disappointing. Only played a few machines before deciding to just cash out and leave, they weren't giving out any wins enough to stay and play longer. They had non smoking machines but they were nearby the smoking allowed machines rather than in a separate room which defeats the purpose. The service staff was on it. Very quick to be seated and our order was taken within a couple minutes. The food came out quickly as well. We had the prawns for an app and the prime rib dinner. What a joke. No flavor at all on the rib, the au jus was like warm water with a brown tint to it. No bread at all. I liked the buffet but my friend who also had the buffet was violently ill all night and forced to drive at 2:00am in search of medicine to relive his extreme GI distress. Our friends we came with vacation here regularly and have been to the restaurant before and wanted to give it another chance tonight. I drove a long way to enjoy their seafood buffet as advertised on their web site with beautiful pictures of fresh seafood on ice -- what they have is fried shrimp (fried mac and cheese one of the better lookng items --lol) and tilapia --my friend and I decided to get a refund for the terrible looking buffet and try the prime rib dinner -- the vegetables were overcooked, my baked potato coolish, the meat very fatty and of mediocre quality. The waiting staff was lovely. The place was clean. There is only one cash register and those people need to take a refresher course in friendly customer service. i felt that after driving all that way we should have had our meal comped ($8.99) or been given a free dessert at least. We have been going to Running Creek for the past few years and have seen nothing but a decline in quality of food. I took my daughter who, was visiting from Montana, there on Monday (July 9, 2018) and it was the worst restaraunt experience I have ever had. My wife and my daughter ordered the house bacon burger. The burger patty was about 1/3 pound, but I swear half of that was filler of some sort. It was clearly a money maker for them and a disaster for the consumer. Did I mention it took almost an hour to get the food delivered? I had a Korean Chicken sandwich. The chicken breast looked like it came from a Cornish Hen it was so small. The French fries were cold, the coleslaw inedible, and on and on. The service was okay but everything else was an absolute disaster. What a huge disappointment! Never again. We went to Running Creek Sea Food Buffet. First thing they cut the Buffet in half. The crab was sauggie. They Remodeled added a bar in the Resturant and now they are using smaller table to eat on. For 4 of us it cost $140.00. We used to have the sea food buffet 2 to3 times a month and for 2 of us it would be $40.00 and change. And the crab was great.
