I found these people to be both deceitful and unethical. Before making the long drive to their store, I called TWICE and spoke to two different people to verify an exact shoe, color and size, (both width and length). They both supposedly checked, telling me they had several of those shoes in stock. I showed up and a Toby, who I had spoken to, offered an insincere apology for not having the shoe I wanted, then attempted the O'l "bait and switch" Brought out a miserable color in the right size, and then finally the right color in the wrong size, but trying to tell me it was a perfect fit, it wasn't at all. I bought what I wanted directly from the manufacturer (same price) and also got a 30 day return included, if I didn't like them. If these people have what you want when you go in there, you're probably ok, as others have pointed out. However, let this be a warning if you call first for a particular shoe. read more

I packed one pair of flip-flops, Crocs, for my week long trip to Palm Springs and LA. For some reason the Crocs were much harder than I remembered them being, hurting the soles of my feet. Perhaps that's because they were just worn out from old age. I was not going to let a pair of shoes ruin my winter vacation. I Googled "Oofos", a flip-flop with arch support that I had tried on in Ocean City, MD but decided not to buy then. Google said this store stocked the brand. Yelpers said this store was VG. So we got in the rental car and found this place lickety-split using the WAZE app. There were 2 salespersons in the store when we entered. Yep, they carried Oofos. I was sized, selected a color and at the checkout register in less than 15 minutes. Could have been 10 but we spent some time socializing (easterners meeting westerners). All good! I left my crocs with them for the trash. Now I have flip-flops with arch support. My vacation is back on track. Hallelujah! read more

I have been to this store before and like their stuff. I'm an avid runner and I want to support local businesses when I'm in the desert visiting family. However, on 6/13, I came in with my mom and felt very uncomfortable. The two employees in the store were hovering over me and my mom (the only two customers in the store). They were not giving me any space to walk around and followed uncomfortably close. I decided on an item and they quickly nabbed it up to hold at the front desk. I felt rushed, profiled and very uneasy. My mom noticed this too. I won't make judgments or assumptions about why I was profiled, but I can tell you I won't be returning here again. read more

I used to check out their location next to Revivals. Their new spot is now in a prime location downtown and pretty spacious. When I walked in, staff was friendly and welcomed me and asked if I was looking for anything in particular. I wanted to see if they carried a Saucony shoe (Endorphin Speed), since I've been wanting to try them on in person. They didn't have it, but they had tons of On Cloud shoes that many of the other shoppers were trying on. I kept browsing the store for cool accessories and saw that they sold Goodr glasses. I've been wanting a pair but haven't had a chance to try them on. I let staff know that I was trying on a few pairs so that they could clean/sanitize them after (due to COVID). Once I decided on a pair of glasses, they grabbed a new box from the back that wasn't part of the display (woo-hoo!). The store is clean, great layout, and they sanitized the workstation between transactions. read more

It's a local running store, so you know how they do. Specialized service, and knowledgeable staff that can get you in the right gear, no matter what kind of runner/walker you are. Lots of group runs originate here, and of course they stay connected to all the local races. They, in my experience anyway, have a far larger selection of consumer-level running gear than most running stores I've been to. I've been to too many running stores that only stock gear that elite runners would be interested in. I'm stoked that Running Wild stocks a lot of entry-level clothing, shoes, and accessories that beginner runners would want to purchase. They also do what I wish more running stores would do -- stock store-branded apparel. Plenty of that here. I miss my old running store back where I used to live, but Running Wild is doing their best to get me to forget! read more

I turned up in Palm Springs today and realized: TRAIL RUNNING! Only one problem, and that is I need some new shoes and I don't know where to find the "good trails" around Palm Springs / Palm Desert. I called Running Wild and found that they were closing at 15:00....and it was 14:25. I gave my estimated position and asked if I could make it in time and was assured that I could. Cool. I turned up there at 14:55 and the (seemingly) owner was casually hanging out. I told him I was the guy that called and apologized for turning up only a few minutes before closing. Long story short, this guy kept the doors open and helped me with shoe fitting, answered my questions, etc.... They get five stars for being proper running geeks and for being good people in general. read more

Today I was shopping for a hydration pack. I found one at this store that was being sold for its full retail price of $85.00. I used it later in the afternoon and liked it, but when I came home and decided to research the equipment on the manufacturer's website, I discovered that it was a discontinued model that is available on their site for 50% off. Now, I feel ripped off, and even though I like and will continue to use the pack, I won't be shopping at Running Wild again anytime soon. read more

This was the best sneaker shopping experience I've had in my entire life. As soon as I walked in I was greeted and asked if I needed help and what I was looking for. I said the two sneakers I've worn in the past new balances and recently brooks and my size. Was brought out a couple pairs to try and it literally took less than 15 min to pick my perfect sneaker! I live in LA, but when these sneakers are up I can see myself planning a weekend trip to see friends and buy a new pair just from them! We Are from out of town and just googled a local running store as my 11 year old (she wear women's ans sometimes kids) needed shoes for crossfit, running, and general athletic training. The staff was very knowledgeable and spent a very long time with my daughter asking her what her needs were in order to find the perfect shoe. They watched her run to make sure she was getting the support. It was nice that they treated my daughter like a person and didn't ignore her needs just because she was a kid as some other running stores we have encountered they just slap a shoe on her and barely spend 5 minutes with us. I would absolutely recommend the store and will be going back for new shoes for my daughter next time we are in town. Really great place! read more

I've been in multiple shoe stores in the valley looking for a day to day athletic shoe and either nothing felt right or the clerks had no idea what i was looking for.Today Alfred, at Running Wild, helped me and he not only knew what i needed but came up with a couple of options that were terrific. i bought a pair of shoes and walked out wearing them. Recently I started a program of walking. I'm a senior citizen and not in very good condition, and a friend recommended I get good walking shoes to make it easier on my feet and knees and ankles. So I found the store he suggested, and went in late in the afternoon. I was greeted immediately by a friendly salesperson who immediately showed interest in what I was looking for and why. He found several pairs of good walking shoes and helped me find the right size and the right brand that fit my feet correctly and mitigated some of the difficulties I had with walking, and showed me on the shoes and in the stitching how the support worked. Several times, I tried on a pair and walked down the handy runway painted on the floor, bisecting the store. and he watched closely to see how I walked and what my special needs were in a shoe. He was also friendly and chatty and we talked about walking our dogs and other small talk until I felt so comfortable my initial trepidation about going to an athletic type of store completely left me. He was patient and took as much time as I needed to decide which shoes to buy. He didn't try to upsell anything or change my mind or add things to my bill. He did an excellent, honest, straightforward job of getting me exactly what I wanted and keeping me comfortable while he did it. I hope never to shop anywhere else for athletic footwear. read more

I was just in the store, older guy sitting down playing on the computer didn't greet me, browsed the shop for about 5 minutes, a sales lady was helping other customer bumped into me a couple of times and she didn't acknowledge me, a "hello I'll be right with you" or "let me get someone to help you" would had been enough. The store itself is great. It has a great selection of brands that you will not find anywhere else. The customer service, however, is awful. I visited the store about a month ago, knowing the exact shoe and size i wanted, but was never helped. Today, i thought i would give it another try. Same thing. I stood waiting forever for an employee to assist me in getting the shoe i wanted from the back. I finally walked out, a second time in a month. Being that prices here are far higher then online, one would expect the customer service to be on par to make up for the higher prices. My suggestion, ignore this store and shop on amazon prime.
