Our group consisted of two vegans and two non-vegans, and there wasn't a single crumb left on anyone's plate throughout the night - everyone agreed the meal was fantastic from start to finish. In addition, Courtney was very friendly, easy to communicate/plan with in advance of the meal, professional, and punctual. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend her, and if I find myself in the market for a private chef in the future, would be glad to hire her again.

Courtney worked with me on a wine friendly menu and we came up with something nice. As you can imagine friends we have known for 25 years are all over the food map but I wanted something safe but not generic and Courtney delivered. All appetizers and courses were delicious. Bacon Jam with crostini Salmon with horseradish creme fraiche Speck and Lemon ricotta crostini Salad with really fresh lemon mint vinaigrette Pasta with Pepita basil Pork tenderloin with polenta Pot au Chocolat Guests especially loved the salmon appetizer, the polenta and the pot au chocolat all had nice surprise ingredient additions to them that made them unique. Courtney was on time, served everything at the time requested, presented each course and cleaned up after making it easy to spend time with everyone. Trying to think of another excuse to have a party and we can use her again!

He worked with me on a menu and he delivered my vision. Even with extreme circumstances (another vendor broke our garage door 24 hours before the event) Chef Peter and his crew took it in stride. They were on time and hauled their heavy equipment in and got straight to work. He was basically cooking/grilling on one side of our building (back patio), having to run back forth to the interior kitchen and sink. He and his crew worked SO hard that night. They are very professional. Every plate was perfect, they cleared the tables and made sure everything was spotless when they left. I also hired Jacob the Bartender (he works with Chef Peter) and WOW! Crafted cocktails and excellent service. Every person who was late to my party was sat and had a drink in their hand in less than a few minutes. Jacob was a pleasure to work with. Great bartender. I could not ask for a better duo for the night. Also big thanks to Tomas and Erick - their waitstaff. Amazing night they pulled off. I'm a perfectionist. Type A host. I'm very particular on how I throw my parties and Chef Peter surpassed my expectations & more. My entire firm will not shutup about how amazing the food and service was. The party was a hit and I believe it was because of the food & bar. I will 100% hire this team again for future events.

Every dish was absolutely delicious and plated with stunning presentation. Chef Charlie even provided printed menus for each of us, adding such a thoughtful touch. I had 2 weeks to plan dinner, one guest has food allergies and a couple preferred to NOT dine in public. I rented a house with a nice kitchen (and made sure the owner knew it was for a dinner party), but now I needed a chef. I had many referrals from local friends, but everyone they recommended were either booked or not suited for a small dinner party. With 8 days left, I did what I should have done in the first place and checked Yelp. Mint was highly rated, had excellent reviews, and seemed to do smaller events. I sent an inquiry overnight, explained what I was trying to accomplish -- hire an in-home private chef, to cater dinner for 4, and included the list of food allergies. I woke up to an email from Angela -- it was very courteous, succinct, with an attached 1-pager of pricing AND a of list items to choose in each course (4 courses / 1 item each). Folks: this is how you do business, it make as easy as possible to say yes. Nobody else I communicated with was this responsive, and this easy to work with. The type of cuisine (to me: fresh / farm to table / New American) was what everyone would enjoy, with great options in each course, and their pricing was in-the-ballpark. I replied with my choices, they sent a link to contract and pay by credit card, and we were booked/confirmed in 3 emails spanning a couple hours. [[thank you!]] Menu: * English cucumber topped with blackened shrimp whipped avocado cream cheese & microgreens * Arugula salad with blueberries, avocado goat cheese, lemon honey vinaigrette * Seared Ribeye Strip with shallot peppercorn sauce Lemon roasted broccolini, sweet potato mash * Chocolate flourless cake with fresh whipped cream & berries AND the Salted Caramel banana bread pudding with vanilla ice cream [[life hack: you CAN order 2 deserts, and yes it cost more, and f-yes it was worth it]] Day-of was flawless: Chef Jacyln arrived with everything to prepare dinner, was flexible on timing and service. The guests were drinking and chatting with her while we snacked on the first course. We sat for the salad, which was tasty and a perfect pallet cleanser. I devoured the entree and dug-deep for the self-control to NOT lick the plate. Everyone loved desert, not everyone would have loved either of the deserts, so I was pleased I opted for both (not just because I ate both). Chef Jaclyn was fun to watch and talk to, and did a masterful job of fading when were talking about something else. She made-do with the cookware/plates/etc in the AirBnB, the only thing we lacked were containers to take leftovers home (our fault!). She served us, and cleaned up (spot-less), which I wasn't expecting. The whole experience was 10/10 - I cannot wait to book and host again. Thank you Mint and Chef Jaclyn!

I loved the sheer variety of his omakase. Marinated ankimo, halibut 3 ways, torotaku hand roll, and mackerel were all standouts. The tempura break between sushi gave us a trio of flavors - the tempura sauce, dashi salt, and a curry salt. I will never turn down otoro or uni. Both excellent. His use of charcoal and fire created depth in flavor and a variety of textures that made each dish special. The intimate 5-seater restaurant - though can be 6 if you have one close friend group going - felt cozy and warm. I highly recommend this gem in Culver City. I will be back and will be telling my all my friends.

With no assistants and no separation between kitchen and counter, the chef runs the entire operation alone preparing, plating, and serving each course directly to guests. The result feels less like dining out and more like being invited into a chef's private kitchen. One particularly memorable piece was halibut nigiri topped with a small portion of its own liver. The liver added a quiet richness almost buttery in depth enhancing the halibut's clean sweetness while maintaining perfect balance. Another highlight was king mackerel prepared warayaki-style, briefly touched straw fire which add a subtle aromatic smokiness on top of the mackerel flavor. I brought the Raifuku Choseimai to paired with the omakase, this is an exceptionally Junmai Daiginjo with the rice polished down to just 8%, it shows exceptional clarity and finesse, with a hint of floral aromatics, subtle fruit notes, and a very silky texture. It paired beautifully across the meal enhancing the sweetness of delicate seafood like halibut while refreshing the palate after richer bites such as toro and wagyu. Watching Masuyoshi san execute every detail from slicing fish to finishing all dishes adds a deeper appreciation for the craftsmanship behind the experience, definitely will bring a more variety of wine and sake to do a full pairing.
