It's like a big Ace Hardware aggie store from the midwest, with all of the farm supplies and tools and country wear, but then you have all of this crazy food from Stuckey's and there's taffy and jerky. Purchased six golf cart batteries one year ago they had a two-year warranty. All totally dead would not take a charge. Rural King would only give us a credit for a percent back on the purchase of the same batteries. These batteries were substandard from the start with them losing power and having to be frequently charged after use, around our yard. We were very disappointed with the store policy that we had to use the allotted return credit towards the purchase of the same batteries and an additional $410. We didn't want to purchase the same batteries because of the quality we would've preferred a store credit, but we were forced to buy the same batteries or lose our return. Rural King batteries are substandard wouldn't advise purchase of these batteries. read more

Went to Winchester Ky store last Sat. 6/28/25 to get tomato cages listed as in stock /pickup. Go there and no cages, response was dont believe our website. Waited until today Mon. 6/30/25 called Maysville Ky store customer service, asked the woman and gave her the SKU# she assured me they had 54 in stock. I drove the 50 mi (100 round trip) and low and behold no cages, the woman that was helping me and supervisor kept saying sorry? why they are not, just lip service, poor customer service and apparently their computer inventory system sucks at best. One store clerk got this nasty little smirk when expressed my displeasure, I didn't see but wife did and told her that their incompetence is not funny. My brother and I were in Royal King in Bristol, VA yesterday. We were watched by security and employees from the time we entered the building. My brother made a purchase of around $300. Employees and security were looking at each other nodding and talking using the communication advises around their necks. The cashier was nodding as well to security. They even came outside when we were leaving. This was my first and last visit to Royal King. Very unprofessional and disrespectful. My first and last time to shop at Royal King. I hope all customers are not treated in this manner. read more

I bought a RK55 tractor and bush hog at the end of December 0f 2024. Within 2 months the tractor's clutch went out. They weren't going to cover it under warranty as the sales manager said it was a wearable item. I was so irritated with that statement as everything is a wearable part. They said the clutch was rusted to the pressure plate and must have happened in South Korea where it was made. They reluctantly fixed it as I waited 2.5 months. After I got it back I went to use the new bush hog for the 1st time and cut grass in my back lot. The shear bolt immediately broke when I turned the bush hog on. I replaced the bolt, turned on the bush hog and it ran for about 20' then broke again. read more

I wish that I could give no stars at all . I tried to purchase a hand gun thru rural kings website to ultimately pick up at the lake wales store . Well so I thought. I made the purchase printed my receipt, said shipping would take about 7 to 10 days, received a confirmation email a few days later that the hand gun was ready to pick up.. I went to the stores gun section where there was a few people waiting. Didn't seem to be in any line, So I waited about 15 minutes to finally get helped out, showed my email receipt and proceeded to do the required 3 day background check. This was last Friday, so I was told to come back Monday, went back to the store Monday afternoon and waited again about 15 to 20 minutes to get helped. Ultimately it was my turn to get helped just to get told by the man that he was going to lunch ! He didn't even look at me! So another employee that helped me do the background check said that the hand gun wasn't ready to be picked up... He said that I needed to wait for a second email from rural king website stating that the handgun is ready to be picked up ... ? At this point I said to myself, there's something wrong with this situation. I have to say that I felt racially profiled. ! I will never ever go back to any rural kings stores or website to purchase anything. Also letting all my friends and family to do the same.... Giant waste of my time, energy and money. I ordered a product from them over a month ago. The product showed in stock, I paid over 2000.00 for it. I went back and the system lost my order but took my money. I called them they supposedly fixed it. Still no product. Now it's Christmas, I ordered it a month prior so I would have it here. Now I call them back, the computer issue was not resolved and I am forced to cancel my order. Now let see how many hurdles I have to jump through to get my money back. Absolutely horrible. I went into the store on 10/5/19 to start shopping for a new gun. The 2 men working the counter were more than helpful and enthusiastic to answer any question I had. They were also very knowledgeable and practical with their responses. Most of the gun shops I have been into are less than helpful and seem very judgmental if you don't know every detail about the guns. They have made a regular customer and a long term customer. Holy Hell this place is redneck heaven! Never in my entire life living in Florida have I felt so close to being a real live farmer. The minute I walked in, the glorious odor of shavings and peep poop was noticed, but in a good way. I couldn't decide where to start shopping first because I was overwhelmed and wanted to look at everything. I ended up spending almost two hours in there. I bought Under Armour, Carhart, meat sticks, a juicy femur for my pup and some motor oil. I wanted to buy the mini pig but hubby put his foot down and flat out refused. Next time I go I'm bringing a chair , some beer and chips so I can spend the entire day. Go there you will love it! read more

One thing I will say is that the store is very organized and clean for the most part and I do see employees wearing masks and wiping things down which is great as well. I love this place. Lots of items for the gardener, farmer and country bumpkin. I like the way they greet you with popcorn...nice touch. I took my son there this last weekend for the experience of this unique and large store. I could tell he enjoyed it, especially looking at the guns and the fair price of ammo which he bought. Better priced then in Tampa, he said. Just a heads up folks...they have pretty strict return policies so make sure you keep that receipt in case you have to return something and make sure you do it quick and don't procrastinate...in other words if you have to return something do it quick. When this store first opened we were really pleased and enjoyed shopping there. But lately that hasn't been the case. We have been told the item we were looking for was in stock only to drive over 20 miles to get there and be told it's out of stock and they haven't had it in stock for several months. Also been told that items were not in stock and they were. Store is not laid out well, seems like items especially gardening supplies are shoved here and there. And there are never enough registers opened. Stood in line a few times 10-20 minutes to check out, only one register is opened with several people in line with full carts.
