So I had a late night craving and Ruscelli's more than fulfilled it. At 1:30a I was finishing up studying and wanted a vegetarian meal. Ruscelli's vegetarian calzone popped up. The marinara sauce on the side was so flavorful and the dough was cooked to perfection. Every cheesy bite was awesome and it was amazing for my late night craving. My only problem as I saw someone else also mention was the location. I did not realize the restaurant was within a bar and wasn't sure where to go but once inside the bartender pointed me in the right direction. I'd definitely eat here again just make sure you go inside Mojo's and you'll see the ordering area for Ruscelli's!

Wow that was actually amazing!!! The nachos are the best! And adding meat would be a strong move! Love this place! Highly recommend

I found out about Ruscelli's while visiting Beer Hog in Pelham. They had a food cart there and were making paninis and pull-a-parts. My husband and I split a whole double pepperoni panini and a bacon and pepperoni pull-a-part. We were looking for a snack and this filled the bill. If you are looking for more of a meal, skip the cart. Also if you are looking for gourmet Italian this is not what you are looking for. I saw online that they do have a restaurant but I have never been there.

    Brisket Pizza is delish!

Yummy!! I don't usually pay for Italian because, I mean, why?! But Hubby wanted to go to this place, so....we ordered a small house salad and the Brisket Pizza. Before I get to the food, though, some background. This restaurant is located in the second floor of the Harbert Plaza. Businesspeople in suits crowd. There's a cool Bamawise store downstairs. Also on the second floor are an O'Henry's coffee shop and a Frio Popsicle store. So, that's coffee and dessert. Now for the main course! The salad was delightful! Crisp greens, generous feta, and tomato (I asked for no red onion). Chopped pepperoncini peppers provide a fresh kick. I had the Greek vinaigrette ~ I don't think it was freshly made but it was tasty. The pizza is large for one person. Hubby and I shared it and felt it was plenty (note: I did have the salad!) The brisket is tasty and moist. The pizza is served with fresh tomato that yields a touch of sweet. The overall taste is just warm goodness!! The pizza crust is flavorful and tender. Others in our party ordered the Calzone Florentine and exclaimed that it was tasty and filling. Everyone cleaned their plates! We brought home the Chicken Fettucine Alfredo for darling daughter. She ate every bite of the generous portion. At seventeen, she declares, "it's good!" (Seventeen-year-olds in our house do not wax poetic.) Service is food court, but food arrives quickly and at the right temperature (salad: crispy cool; pizza: hot but without scald burns in your mouth.) Finally, this place is a bargain. It's a cool break from a hot summer day ~ and YUM!

We walked up the street with a half dozen other diners. Wooden City is definitely not in the best part of BHM. Walking to the restaurant was a little sketchy, no need for a detailed description. Although we had reservations, the hostess looked at us like we had three eyes. She found a small table for us in the far back of the restaurant. No problem, at least we were seated. Our server greeted us quickly and went over the menu. We ordered drinks, blistered Hungarian peppers and a sausage and mushroom pizza. We told him that we were going to a concert and were on a little bit of a tight schedule. By the time our server checked on our food, the second time, we went from a little bit tight to full "gotta get out of here" mode. I guess the delay in getting our food was to give the kitchen time to burn our pizza. Over half of the thick, chewy crust was inedible. The bottom of the pie didn't fare much better. The peppers, on the other hand, were amazing. (not so much so at 2 am but that's just me!) They are a do not miss. We were at least able to settle our bill quickly and made it to the concert with time to spare. Overall, would we go back? Only if in the area - those peppers were amazing. Still, I definitely would not make a special trip.

One could make an argument, and rightfully so, that pizza is not a dish requiring reinvention. Yet,…read morewe are humans, we cannot stop ourselves at the Neapolitan classic version, the iconic NYC slices nor the Chicago deep dish. Something within us, is tirelessly reinventing. Whether good or bad, someone else can decide. A real distinction of Pizza Grace is in its most fundamental element, and the aspect that one could argue to be the most important part of any pizza, period. Of course, that would be the crust. The crust here is created with wild yeast sourdough, called "Frank", resulting in a unique profile regardless of what later lands on top of the pizza. Let's pause here for just a second, is it not ridiculous having to wait 24-48 hours for the slow crust fermentation to happen? Apparently, the owners Chef Ryan Westover and his wife Helene didn't think so. Their signature pizza here is no less impressive either: topped with Louisiana crawfish, ricotta, Parmesan, mint and basil. It is a true star of the show. It's hard for most people to pinpoint exactly where they had the best pizza of their life, but this warehouse building in Alabama might just end up being that spot.

It's what you might think of as a cheese pizza, the add garlic and fresh basil to the mix and it is a wonderful result. It's a hand tossed pizza with a fairly thin crust. The chew and the flavors are excellent. The staff are friendly, but don't wait on the tables, you order at the counter, they deliver you eat happily. They have TVs playing one soccer or F1 racing feed or another. It' is a European feel for sure. They have picnic tables indoors and a few small chairs outdoors with a bit of shade. I was pleased that the had a large variety of options but even had gelato and desserts as well. Large pizzas run $21-$27 are thin crust. For pizzas, we got two of their Margheritas, Meat Buster and Palermo. They were all good and a hit at the family party. The meat Buster and Palermo had meat but honestly not a whole lot. They were good though. All the pizzas were lots of flavor and the sauce to cheese ratio was perfect. I loved that they had chili oil, extra dipping sauce, cheese, and peppers on the side for you to grab. While our time there we even had some gelato which was good and got some cheese cake to go. Our pizzas came out quick. The shop is very large with plenty of places to sit, even good for a large party. I loved that they even had plates on the table ready to go. This was a solid pizza spot and worth checking out if you prefer thinner crust.
