Piroshky Piroshky is a famous spot at Pike Place Market. It's in the block across from the vintage public market sign.I came on a weekday noon and there was a line. Luckily it moved quickly. I tried their best selling salmon pate and beef & cheese flavors. The price isn't cheap, but the portions are reasonable. I enjoyed the salmon pate's creamy texture, dill seasoning, and pastry bread. However, I was not a fan of the beef and cheese - there was a gamey, funky flavor that didn't sit right with me. Overall, it's an iconic place that I think visitors should try at least once. read more

Finally got around to trying Piroshky Piroshky after hearing about it for a while from my wife. We grabbed a few different items to try and get a feel for what they offer. Service was quick and easy, despite having to wait in line. But they try to take orders and serve customers quickly. Food: Beef & Cheese (6/10): This one reminded me a lot of an Indian cutlet in terms of flavor. It was solid overall, and my wife actually liked this one the most. For me, it was just okay -- good, but nothing I'd go out of my way for again. Uli's Jalapeño & Cheddar Sausage (6/10): Probably my favorite out of everything we tried. It had a nice kick of spice and good flavor throughout. Simple, but done well. I still prefer a southern jalapeño & cheese sausage kolache. Cheddar Garlic Roll (6/10): Not bad, but a bit too heavy for me. I was expecting more of a garlic flavor, but it mostly just tasted like bread and cheese. It needed that extra punch to stand out. Almond Vanilla (7/10): This was the biggest letdown for me. Most of it was just plain, dry bread with very little filling. Toward the end, I finally got a bite with the almond filling, and it was actually really good -- which made it more disappointing that it wasn't consistent throughout. If it had been evenly filled, this probably would've been my favorite. Based on the actual full flavor, I gave it a 7. Overall, it was a mixed bag. Some items were solid, but nothing really blew me away. I can see the appeal, especially if you like trying different types of pastries, but for me it wasn't as memorable as I expected. read more

I love Piroshky Piroshky! Definitely a staple anytime we are in Seattle. We tried some new flavors and they did not disappoint one bit. The Apple cinnamon roll had these beautiful flavors and I loved the texture of the thin apples. The Ruben was unexpected, and the flavors went so well together. I will say l LOVE sauerkraut and you do not get much of the tang from it in this. We will definitely be back!! They also have merch now, I'm not sure if I missed this before, but it's SO cute. read more

I've always wanted to try Piroshky Piroshky, and I am so glad I did! We got the Cheddar Garlic Garlic Roll and the Potato & Mushroom Piroshky. Our absolute favorite of the two was hands down the Cheddar Garlic Roll. The texture was crispy on the outside, then soft and cheesy on the inside with pops of green onion. It was the perfect combination of fresh bread, garlic, and cheese! The Potato & Mushroom was just okay AFTER trying the Roll but wasn't bad at all. It's in its own category, the Piroshky dough was flaky and doughy inside, and more on the savory side. I would love to go back and try more of their other menu options! read more

There was a line, but it moved fairly quickly. Once inside, the store is really small and cramped. I felt a little rushed since you only have a short amount of time before being called up to the next cashier. There are two cashiers, and even though the staff helping me was nice and patient, the tight space and people passing by made it feel a bit hurried. This is a grab-and-go place, so there's no seating. I tried the smoked salmon pate, which was interesting, but not really my favorite. The rhubarb flavor was also interesting. The chocolate cream hazelnut was okay, the hazelnut flavor wasn't very rich, and the texture was a bit like mochi ? not creamy like Nutella as I had hoped. The orange cream, however, was really good. Overall, I didn't quite get the hype, but it was worth trying at least once. read more

We stopped by Piroshky Piroshky and it absolutely lived up to the hype. I ordered their February special, the Strawberry Marzipan Heart, and it was so good, perfectly balanced and not overly sweet. My husband had the Uli's Jalapeño Cheddar Sausage and the Beef & Onion. I had a bite of both and they were savory, flavorful, and not too salty at all. The line was long, but it moved fairly quickly and was totally worth the wait. Definitely a must-try when visiting Seattle. read more

This was part of our food crawl at Pike Place and a great spot! We didn't have to wait that long which was great. We got 2 pastries: the salmon one and the cream filled one. The salmon one was quite tasty and the cream one was good too but I think we expected it to be more of a custard so it just didn't have as much filling as I thought it would. This bakery is very famous in the Pike Market. The located to the north of Steward Ave. There is always a line in front of the store during peak hours. I got the almond vanilla Piroshky. This is almond with vanilla cream filling. The pastry is dusted with sugar powder. Sound delicious and taste delicious. Today we were at the off time no line. The purchase was very easy. read more

My friend recommended Piroshky Piroshky while I was visiting Seattle, so I decided to give it a try. We went on a Saturday, and it was super busy, but I will say the line moved surprisingly fast, which I appreciated. A heads-up if it's your first time: the shop itself is very small, so most of the wait is outside, and they only let about 2-3 people inside at a time. Even with the crowd, the process was efficient, and the staff we interacted with were very nice. We wanted both savory and sweet, so we tried the popular beef & cheese bun, chicken teriyaki, and hazelnut roll. The beef & cheese bun was definitely the best thing we tried. It was warm, flavorful, and reminded me of the filling inside an Asian meat bun, which I enjoyed. The chicken teriyaki was disappointing. It didn't look anything like the photo they advertise, and the flavor was just okay, nothing memorable. The hazelnut roll was decent and not overly sweet, which I liked, but it wasn't something I'd go out of my way for. Overall, I personally think this place is a bit overhyped. The fast-moving line and friendly staff were a plus, and the beef & cheese bun was good, but based on what we tried, I'm not sure it fully lived up to the hype. Still, if you've never had it before, it may be worth trying once since they have plenty of other menu options. read more

My family came to visit Pikes with my girlfriend's family and this was a recommended bakery to check out. Unfortunately we were too busy eating to grab photos, but we grabbed the bacon egg & hashbrown piroshky and a chocolate chip cookie. My friends got the salmon pate and the chocolate piroshky. Honestly all 4 were good, had good amounts of filling too. Pricing isn't horrible here, I think we spent 11 on a piroshky and the cookie, which was actually decently sized! It was difficult to move around because shoppers were constantly walking in front of each other without much awareness of those around them. I'll definitely be buying that again. I also tried the Spartak cake, which was good, but the honey cake stole the show for me. I couldn't decide on one of the mousse cakes because they all looked amazing, so I asked the employee behind the counter to pick her favorite. She recommended the mango mousse cake, and she was right--it was delicious. The white chocolate shell gives way to a light, tangy mango mousse with actual pieces of mango inside. It was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully made. The only downside is the price. The mousse cakes are roughly palm-sized and around $10 each. While they were very good, I finished mine in one sitting, whereas the honey cake and Spartak lasted me much longer and cost less. Overall, I absolutely recommend this market. The food, bakery, and hot deli are excellent, and I'll definitely keep coming back. My only advice is simple: avoid Saturday afternoons if you can. You'll probably enjoy the experience a whole lot more.

The oysters were the main draw for me, and they were totally worth the visit. Old Stove serves them with a savory watermelon sauce in addition to a traditional cocktail sauce--eaten together, it's a flavor explosion that I can't quite describe. We also enjoyed the garlic everything fries, which were delicious! We just had to try a flight to sample the brews. There are some really good beers available here, especially the Belgian blonde, citra pale ale, and the stout. I did not really care for the seasonal sour (grapefruit, I think)--to me, it just tasted like a sour and nothing more, but someone with more interest in sour beers would probably enjoy it just fine. Despite the busy night, our server checked on us regularly and was very personable, stopping to chat with us about the local sports scene. There's plenty to look at, inside and out. If you can snag a seat outside, you'll get to enjoy the waterfront. Inside, the decor is industrial but fun. Not sure if this runs all the time, but when we were there, the tvs were playing vintage beer ads, which was quite fun. They also sell some pretty good t-shirt designs. Overall, Old Stove Brewing is the perfect combo of good location, good food, and good beer. Definitely recommend a visit when in the Pike Place area!
