Service was great there was an older gentleman working it alone and it got busy, but he still managed it and worked his butt off! Very charming place raspy cozy. Food was yummy!!!

Nice place. The food was not bad. This was my first time trying Borscht and it was surprisingly good. Also tried the honey cake and thought it was dry.

The meat dumplings is super delicious! The sweet and spicy sauce that accompanies the dumplings are also very delicious. So good we ate it all and asked for more. The soup was also good. Service was also excellent!

Not sure what's going on. Don't order via DoorDash. This was taken 12/8/24. Hoping for the best, they have wonderful food!

Love these guys! I'm not sure what's going on, but do not order on DoorDash. This is from 12/09/24. Wishing them nothing but the best, we love their food!

Small little place in small strip mall. There's a bunch of tables to dine in if you like. They have a nice clean bathroom ( always a plus in my book). My kids have gone here before and were raving about the beef pierogi so we all stopped in for lunch. So there was a selection of fillings you can choose from and the style they're prepared. We ordered the potato mushroom, the beef and pork, potato cheese and bacon and the beef. You can order in different sizes-12,18 or 24. Son got the 24, the rest of us got the 18 which was enough to make us pretty full. Son was stuffed. I'd say get the 18 and and appetizer. We all agreed that the beef with classic Alaskan style (without the sriracha) was the best. The potato mushroom loaded the least favorite- too bland. The chicken soup was pretty good but the borscht! Wow! It was so good with pieces of meat, potato and beet. Best borscht I have tasted so far. We also got a cheese and potato piroshky which was light and flaky, not super dense and heavy like others we've had. It was on the small size- kind of the size of a MacDonald's apple pie. But it was yummy. AND the beer was $5 as long as you order food! To top it off we shared the honey cake. It looked like it would be dry but no, it wasn't and it had a nice honey flavor which wasn't overly sweet. Thumbs up for this place

Cozy local spot offering Russian dumplings/comfort food (pelmeni, vareneki, maybe piroshki)…read more Limited menu but allows them to focus. I tried the vareniki and my husband had the pelmeni. Both were good, but the vareniki was a little bland and better with sour cream or adjika. Large portions. I got the regular size and couldn't finish it. They also have a full bar and some N/A drinks like beet kvass (think Russian kombucha) and birch soda. I really liked the beet kvass. My husband less so cause it was less traditional so I guess depends on your tastebuds. They also have a full bar. Recommend checking out.

I ordered the birch juice, pelmini, borscht and Uzbek samsa. The birch juice was refreshing and slightly sweet. It was the perfect size of borscht. The borscht was light and filling at the same time. I make my own borscht at home at was deliciously comparable. I like that they garnished it with dill. I love dill. The Uzbek samsa was fluffy and crispy on the outside and juicy and flavorful on the inside. I could really taste the seasonings. I think they may use cumin in it. I could eat a few of these! The pelmini must be homemade, because the dough itself was thin but chewy. I love pelmini, and these are my favorite so far. I also loved the dill garnish as well. I can't wait to come back and try more!

This is a fairly hidden gem restaurant a little bit west of UDistrict, closer to Wallingford. The…read moremenu features a bunch of dishes in Central Asia, with fitchi being the star of the show, as the name of this establishment suggests. Fitchi is a stuffed pastry from Uzbekistan/Turkmenistan, and surprisingly when I googled what fitchi was, there weren't a whole lot of search results, so I am ready for a special culinary adventure! When we arrived, it was 2pm and we got the last table and had to wait for 2 chairs to be unoccupied, since it is a place where you sit anywhere and grab chairs from other tables if you need for larger groups. We got 1 chicken and 1 beef fitchi to share, which was $5.50 each + tax, which is a really good deal considering the size of the fitchi. Food does take a while to get since they make fresh to order, so expect 20-30 minutes wait for the food. It was a bit interesting the fitchi is served with a side of ranch, and the server gave us 2 spoons and 2 knives to eat it. The beef fitchi is amazing - very flavorful and juicy. The chicken fitchi is also good but does not carry the level of seasoning as the beef one, but you should try both. Overall, solid, humble restaurant to check out food that you don't typically see often!

My buddy and I rolled in here late on a Saturday night, so right there if you're looking for…read moresomething open late Fitchi has got that going for it. Unfortunately, there was only one guy working, so he had to take the order, prep and make everything. This took a little bit, I want to say over 30 minutes, which I suppose is fair given our order. Fitchi is a curious place, I've passed it numerous times and saw that it's "Eastern Cuisine", yet they make Pizza too. These sort of "multi cuisine" places always make me a bit nervous. They've got, pizza, turkish food, pasta there is a lot going on in here. We got a Milano pizza pie - pepperoni, olive, mushroom, sausage. It was better than I thought, I give them credit on this one but still just alright. Cheesy bread which I think was the best thing we got - decent cheesy and herb flavor on these with 2 dipping sauces. They were out of wings, so we got 'dumplings?' I didn't even realize my buddy ordered these until we got back and they were a mess. They were mushy and falling apart with every bite. Not a lot of flavors even with the sauces to dress it up. Overall Fitchi was ok. Pizza just ok, Cheesy bread good. Dumplings no good. Service, kinda eh for a Saturday night. The indoor seating was in disarray from people dining in, but no staff to clean up the tables so it looked messy in there. I'd consider giving it another shot here as they have a huge menu of options, but until then, it's OK here.
