I call them asking for updates after it had been almost a month and they tell me that the OEM headlights that they ordered came in broken and were on back order until December. So they recommend after market headlights as this was in September when they told me. I don't get headlights on my car that came in for a broken bumper for 3 months! Then I get my car back and everything seems fine until i notice there's a water leak in my headlights and then one of my bulbs goes out. I go to change my bulbs and messed with the conversion kit and got the wrong bulbs so i go back to carstar for them to tell me which ones i need to get. They tell me and I order them mind you they are of no help at all getting this fixed they told me they would reach out if it gets approved to fix by insurance and they never reached out I had to call them 2 weeks later after not having headlights for a months and zero help from these people. So i ordered the kit and put it in the car myself very simple unlike what Mike was saying about how complicated it is. Fast forward to about a week ago one of my headlights goes out again and at this point Im convinced it's because they didn't put the headlights assembly in correctly. As the bulbs haven't even been in a month and my headlights fog up anytime the car gets washed or is in rain. I decided to look at my invoice from them and do some research turns out these people never ordered the OEM bmw headlights and still charged it to the invoice along with lying to me for months about what is going on with my car saying that the headlights came in broken and were on back order since my car is 'rare' when they never even ordered it in the first place. These headlights cost $900 per headlight. I called the bmw shop they said they it from on the invoice and they hadn't sold the part since 2022! At the very bottom of the invoice they charged me $165 for aftermarket headlights and conversion kit in the miscellaneous repairs. These people are scammers and idiots that don't know how to work on cars take your business elsewhere unless you want them to use you to commit fraud along with holding your vehicle for 3 months! Horrible service from these people and also since my car sat in their shop for 3 months on a lie my starter went out and that was a nice extra $500 for something that wouldn't have happened at a body shop that's going to charge an arm and a leg for a simple repair you can do in your garage had they actually done their job.

I am extremely disappointed with how Buddy's Auto Repair & Alignment handled a serious issue after…read moreservicing my transmission. Shortly after their transmission service, my transmission failed while I was out of state. The service center that inspected the vehicle documented that the transmission fluid level measured approximately twice the specified operating range at operating temperature...was over-filled. They also found low and fluctuating pump pressure and diagnosed an internal pump failure, ultimately recommending replacement of the transmission due to so much internal damage. When I spoke with Brian, the owner, on June 19, I explained what the other shop had found and asked whether the transmission might not have been drained properly before being refilled. Brian immediately responded that it was his "best technician" and that he wouldn't have forgotten to drain it. He told me he would speak with the technician and promised he wouldn't "blow me off." He never called me back. After waiting eighteen days, I called him myself. Instead of following up on the concerns I had raised, the conversation took a very different direction. Brian stated the transmission had been slipping and shuddering (two of the EXACT symptoms I reported to him during our first conversation after experiencing transmission failure) and that this had been documented on the inspection. None of that was mentioned during our first conversation, even though he had the invoice and information in front of him at the time. When I originally picked my vehicle up after the transmission flush and fill (along with wheel alignment and drive belt replacement...general maintenance items), they told me everything was fine and did not mention anything being an issue after working on my vehicle. The original invoice states the transmission was refilled to the proper level using eight quarts of transmission fluid and that the vehicle was test-driven. The subsequent inspection by another service center documented a transmission fluid level well above the specified operating range. Brian ultimately offered to refund the invoiced total amount I paid for their service plus an additional $500 as a customer satisfaction payment. Considering I ultimately had to spend approximately $5,000 to replace the transmission with a remanufactured unit while being majorly inconvenienced when out of state, that offer did little to address the financial impact. What I found unacceptable was the lack of communication, the failure to follow through on a promised callback, and the unwillingness to meaningfully stand behind their work when I was facing a very large repair bill. I hope sharing my experience helps others make an informed decision. I can only speak about my own experience, and based on how this situation was handled, I will never go back to this business.
