Our groomer noticed that our dog was itching and suggested she might have mites. She also suggested Rush Veterinary. Since we wanted to get this looked at right away, we called and made an appointment. The vet did comb my dog for fleas and gave us medicine for mites. I asked if the vet if she was going to do a skin scrape for mites and she said they tend to hide so that wouldn't be conclusive. A week later my dog was no better so went to my regular vet. On hindsight, I should have done that from the beginning. My vet used a black light and said it was ringworm. He pulled some hairs, put them in a tube, and is sending them out for testing. He said it will take 10 days for a conclusive test but it was ringworm. When we called Rush and said that nothing was even tested, we were told the service was performed so basically, tough. I walked into rush, with a dog that was hurt, and the girl behind the desk was typing on the computer, and it took over a minute to look up and even acknowledge that I walked in. Something as simple as a hello I'll be right with you is reassuring especially when feeling upset and needing help for a pet. I was told they weren't accepting new patients and if I hadn't of asked for recommendations of where to go I probably wouldn't have gotten any. I didn't feel welcomed and probably won't go back. Eastern down the street treated me with way more compassion and provided further guidance of where to go, despite also not accepting new and having a long wait time. read more

I learned this place was started by a veterinarian up north for people that need help but cannot afford the 800 fee for just walking in. The office staff at RUSH is friendly, helpful and extremely competent. They do their very best to see that patients are seen as soon as possible, usually the same day. Dr. Duffy is very knowledgeable and cares about the animals she treats. I relocated to PA a few years ago and needed a vet closer to my home than the one I brought pets to in NJ. I found that some animal hospitals in PA would provide my pets with an appointment a week or more after my initial contact. Some said they were not accepting new patients unless I was willing to wait a month or more for an appointment. When a pet is sick who wants to wait a month or even a week for treatment? In the past I brought some pets to Eastern Emergency Animal Hospital, a facility that is open 24/7. I found the staff there to be excellent and although this is a 24/7 animal hospital unlike RUSH the wait time upon arrival is unbelievable, often several hours. And the cost of treatment at Eastern is very high. Unless you need emergency animal care at 2 AM on a Sunday morning, you would be better off bringing your pet to RUSH in my opinion. Your pet will be seen faster than at Eastern and the cost will be lower as well. And finally, the care will be just as good if not better. read more

I witnessed a very disturbing scene tonight in front of this vet clinic. I'm still upset and will never go to this vet. A short blonde technician was so unprofessional and almost abusive to a Great Dane and his owner. This woman threw a rope around the neck of the dog that was scared to enter and she began pulling on the dog. The owner was begging the technician to stop choking her dog. As a bystander I was in shock at how rude the technician was yelling, "then you get your dog in here!" Unreal. Makes me wonder what happens behind closed doors if she is this heartless in front if 4 bystanders just trying to help a sick doggie. We all agreed to never take our pets there. read more

Went to this place for the first time last night and I was so happy with how they handled my dog. Despite Covid they allowed us in with our dog (they had us wait in our vehicle until a room was ready and made sure the waiting room had a limited number of people). They ran blood work and did a physical examine of our dog in front of us and determined she had a spine injury and that's why she was lethargic and shaky. The staff was so caring and knowledgeable. We took our elderly cat there for the very first time and would highly recommend them.

If I could give them them negative stars I would. My dog was born with one extra dewclaw on her hind leg. I asked them to remove it when she was spayed. They removed all three without my permission and then when they sent her home, they didn't even bandage her feet where the stitches were and expected her not to be able to get to her feet to rip them out for 7-10 days. They also cut her to "tattoo" her signifying she is spayed; however, the cute was so deep it could have also been stitched or glued. When I called about it, they basically told me I was lying, it wasn't a cut just a mark. I sent them a picture with proof. I wish I would have taken her to my regular vet instead of this place that is contracted with the Rescue we adopted her from. read more

It's Sunday morning and my cat has been sneezing on and off for almost 2 days, eyes started watering last night. I asked a friend if she knew of a vet that was available on Sundays and she recommended Rush Veterinary Urgent Care. They were very reasonable in cost, did a thorough exam of my cat who had no fever, no fluid in lungs, just a nasally allergy infection and they prescribed a mild antibiotic and eye drops that would decongest him. The staff answer your call promptly and is patient with questions and efficient in explaining their process and taking information so your visit is smooth. The place is very clean and all the staff was knowledgeable, friendly, patient, efficient and provided good customer service-between tech and doctor visit there was an emergency and euthanasia in the room next door and the tech came back in my room to explain the delay of the doctor...but from the pain of the owner, which I heard, I knew . This was a Sunday morning and everyone was very kind, professional and on point. Highly recommend them! read more

This place ignored me after I called to check on their mistake just to be told it wasn't...it was. So I didn't listen and gave my cat the correct dose...but you missed the tumor on her lung and told me it was nothing...inflammation...that she had bronchitis...then we find out a month later at a GOOD vet, who took the XRAY the correct way...that she had lung cancer. Thanks for almost killing her with meds and then giving us bad information which delayed her treatment. You should NOT be allowed to stay open. You are NOT good people. That experience alone made me believe this but now blatantly not giving AF about your staff and patients? You are clearly in it for the $$ and not for the love of animals. You disgust me. BTW they ordered triple the dose of an antibiotic that would've killed my cat...and I called to ask and they said no its right. So I kept reading that this was too much so I gave 1/3 of what I was told. Then I emailed them and finally a few days later the vet called admitting their mistake. I also have emails admitting this as well plus paperwork showing that her results showed a mass but I didn't get the results. I was told it was inflammation and probably bronchitis. NOT UNTIL I ASKED FOR A COPY OF YHE XRAY did I see the notes about a mass on her lung. WTF?! PLEASE NEVER TAKE YOUR PET HERE read more

if I could give this place negative stars I would.Took my cat jagger their on Sunday she was not eating or drinking they did the exam said she looked good except for being alittle dehydrated they said their is no need for bloodwork and X-rays we gonna give her fluids and a shot for anti nausea.While we were waiting in the room before the vet came in jagger started to panting my son said I didnt think a cat could do that the doc said they do sometimes when they are stressed.They took her to the back to do the fluids and the anti nausea shot brought her back I. to us told us mot to feed her tonight anymore to offer her a small amount Monday morning. Got home with jagger to find all four of her paws were not working she couldn't stand up she was trying to but couldn't and she was panting perfusly .i called rush and explained what was going on they just said it was stress I said stress caused her legs not to work and pant like crazy she said give her time she should calm down they told me I could gladly bring her back In but that would only stress her more . I gave jagger like 10-15 or so to try to settle but she wasn't I than called Eastern pa vet hospital they lady their said I had to get jagger their right away she shouldn't be panting she's not a dog how far are you she said .i told her about 30 min I'm leaving now. About 10 min away from the vet hospital jagger passed away . Rush is no good their not caring their liers .please do t take your furry friend here go somewhere else your loved one will thank you and i can't help to think of I would have taken her somewhere else maybe just maybe she would still be here with me . read more

Our 11 year old dog became ill over the weekend. he was showing signs of pain , no appetite and our regular vet was closed. Weighing the options of spending a ton of money for urgent care was a concern. We brought our dog to Rush and found the vet was very competent, based on a physical exam she was able to tell that he had some back pain and was able to come to a diagnosis without a bunch of extra expensive tests. A few anti-inflammatories and pain meds and our boy was good as new. We were very happy with the service and price. read more

I've had a few rescue cats spayed here through the rescue but have never dealt with them as an emergency vet. I usually go down to Quakertown with pet emergencies because another emergency vet in the Valley who shall remain nameless will never see a dollar of my money again. But I need to be in with my pets when they're scared and sick, and that wasn't an option at my usual go-to. Anyhoo, I ended up rushing to Rush one night last week with my cat because of a lump on his head. Although the news I got was the worst I had already imagined, I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Urban. I've said it in animal hospital reviews before and I'll say it again: Our pets are important to us. We love them and care about them and seeing them in pain or scared is such a helpless horrible feeling. Having a vet with zero bedside manner or sympathy makes it worse. Dr. Urban was so sympathetic and wonderful, it was like I was talking to my best friend. I also appreciated that she knew spending thousands upon thousands of dollars to try to give my 13 year old cat a few more months was not in HIS best interest. Too many vets out there take advantage of our desperation to save our babies because it pads their own wallets, without consideration for the animal and it's reality. And speaking of money, I was pleasantly surprised at check out even with several xrays. The outcome of my visit wasn't great, I will be helping my sweet boy over the Bridge soon, but my experience here was good and I'm glad to know that Dr. Urban is out there when my furkids need her! read more

I wasn't able to see on short notice my regular vet, so it was great to have an option short of the cost of the Emergency Center. Everyone at Rush was polite and patient and caring from beginning to end. The expense was very reasonable. Any last minute call or emergency vet visit can be scary, especially when bringing your pet as a first time patient. After many attempts to help my girl incessantly stop scratching at her ears and bleeding, most ER's gave it to me straight; that she'd be waiting after more dire cases. Rush Veterinary (esp Donna I believe) was so helpful on the phone in taking my information and welcoming us to come by. We had and understandable wait as many babes arrived. We were called in just before their closing hours. Our technician was sweet and welcoming of our girl's panting and stress. She helped us in with her very patiently and even got a kiss while doing her least favorite thing (ear swab) I believe when our girl started to cry from waiting they played music in the room which always soothes her. I can't say enough about the time our vet took to listen and look over what was most likely another new patient. The Vet Tech's were more than kind, informative, and helpful with any questions I had. We are a half hour away and will make this drive anytime for such stellar kindness and care read more

The doctors at this practice and very caring of people and the animals in their care. They have gone above and beyond for the animals in our Rescue's care. Dr Urban and Dr Milot both took part in saving a cat of ours that had heartworm, which is extremely rare and hard to treat in cats, because the same treatment used in dogs would kill a cat. Dr Milot explained all of the options to us and was able to successfully treat her. She is still doing very well and is very loved in her home. You can see how much they really care! read more

My 4-year-old cat got sick really quickly. The vet was compassionate and thorough and truly collaborative in trying to find out what was wrong with her. It ended up being cancer and she had to be euthanized and it was one of the hardest experiences of my life. But the vet did everything she could and despite her being in the hospital for 4 days, having to have an ultrasound, blood work and exploratory surgery to determine for sure it was a tumor, it did not break me financially. It would have been devastating to have lost her and to have thousands of dollars of vet care. read more

Took my sick cat there twice. The first time I waited for 2 hours, just for Dr. Urban to barely look at him and give me some eye drops. He got worse, so I brought him in a second time. Dr. Milot did a chemical panel (said she was doing a CBC, which was a lie) and said she'd never seen those kind of results before. Gave me antibiotics and said to call in two days if he wasn't getting better. I called 3 days later on a Tuesday (it was a holiday that Monday), never received a call back until Thursday night. That was after multiple calls/messages/emails. She told me he needed another protein test and if the levels didn't go down, he'd need bone marrow and lymph node biopsies or to be put down. I decided to take him elsewhere, where they were able to give me a diagnosis after doing a CBC. I left a bad FB review, then received a call from a blocked number from Dr. Milot basically calling me a liar and a difficult patient. read more

Dr Milot is one of the best vets that I have ever brought any of my pets to. She truly has the animal's best interests in mind. We started using her at her other office, when we needed services for our Rescue cats, and she was recommended by another group. This was over 3 years ago. Since then, even though she is an hour away, we have brought several of our rescues to her, and also have had my own personal animals seen by her as well. She is always extremely honest with us with what she thinks is happening, and understanding with the million questions that I am always asking. I'm a very curious person and like to learn, and she indulges me. My epileptic cat had surgery at this particular office. I was very excited when this practice was opened because it's closer than then her other office for me, and it's a great option when your regular vet has closed for the day and you don't want to pay a fortune going to an emergency clinic. read more

I took my kitten here per the request of the place that we adopted her from, as the spay would be free of charge if we were to do so. The reason I'm giving this 2 stars is because we did not have a problem with the staff at all, they were kind and attentive as they could be given how busy they were. However, a few days after we got the kitten home, we noticed a bulge in her abdomen and it appeared that her incision was open at the bottom. My fiancé and I chalked it up to be the normal healing process, but as time went on it did not get any better. We ended up taking the kitten to our regular vet who explained that the kitten's incision was not healing as there was a piece of stitching sticking out of the surgical site. Our regular vet also explained that the top-layer stitching was partially sown into the abdominal layer, which could have attributed to the lack of healing and bulge in her belly (luckily it wasn't a hernia, otherwise we would have had to taken her for surgery). So, while I can't speak for how they handle emergency situations, I would strongly recommend taking you pets elsewhere to get spayed. I was told during the scheduling process that there was not a specific time that our kitten would get spayed on that particular day, as the vet would be doing the surgery between seeing emergency cases. In my opinion, I think it was just a rush to get the surgery done to move onto the patient (no pun intended). And while the surgery was no cost to us, I would 100% go to our normal vet and pay their cost over going back to Rush for the spay. I still ended up going to our regularly vet anyway to fix the issue. And it would have saved my fiancé and I a lot of stress and headache having the surgery done right the first time around. read more
