As I sat with it I grew concerned because the treatment plan included sedation. Expensive and risky. I asked for the X-rays which they sent, but I also requested the plan be written up with a rationale and any other possible options. I'm not a medical professional and do not understand everything thrown at me in the office. There was a follow up phone call where the staff proceeded to tell me verbally the plan. I explained it was intensive and costly and I don't understand so I would like it written up and may seek a second option to make sure this was the right path. I was told they welcomed a second option but that my $1000 deposit was non refundable. I found this really disconcerting. I understand the need of a deposit but when there is genuine concern and you have to make decisions on the spot, I also think making it no refundable with prior notice is poor customer service which I expressed to them. They then sent me an email telling me "our professional bond had been broken". Very concerning for a parent looking to be more informed in making medical decisions for their child. First I felt pressured to agree, then I felt vilified for asking questions.

We brought her to a dentist and were told that the tooth needed to be removed. Ok, that's fine. They also suggested that we do the same with the tooth beside it so we wouldn't have to make another visit. The tooth beside it wasn't loose nor was there an adult tooth behind it showing it's crown yet so we decided not to do that. After X-rays and front bottom tooth removal, the cost was $500.00. I felt the price was pretty ridiculous but I really didn't know any better because I had nothing with which to compare it. We ended up moving to Lake Zurich and took our daughter to Children's Dentistry Group. Four months later and the same situation occurred. and I needed to get my daughters x-rays sent over. This was a bit of a hassle because they only sent one x-Ray scan instead of all of them. That wasn't a big deal but it was something we had to deal with that was a bit annoying. The dentist told us that the remaining bottom front loose tooth had to go and so we agreed. After removal of the tooth at Children's Dentistry Group in Lake Zurich the bill came to $60.00 for the whole visit (granted no X-rays). Not only that, but when we asked about a top loose tooth the doctor said we did not need to do any other work there because it may fall out on it's own if she keeps wiggling it. It's nice to see children's dentistry group not suggesting is affordable, VERY good interacting with our little girls and they don't push unnecessary procedures, rather they are honest and not looking for a fast buck. It's nice they build a relationship rather than trying to skin a client when they have an opportunity. We'll go here until the kids are too big and we will recommend them to everyone! My daughter had to have a mouth piece inserted as the doctor worked on her teeth. It really hurt my daughter and she was in tears. The doctor kept telling her it doesn't hurt and that 3 year old kids handle this without crying. How is that reassuring? She also gave her no warning and shoved the mouthpiece in without explaining what was going to happen. You work with kids, you should know better. Also, the assistant had no idea how to answer any of my questions and had to have the doctor explain which took longer to track her down again. It was a pretty simple question which was easily answered on chat gtp. We won't be returning.
