We had been driving for awhile and saw a sign from the interstate for this store. I thought it was the factory, but no it was just a store. If you're craving chocolate, then you've come to the right place. Chocolate overload. My kiddo came in there expecting us to buy the entire store. Sorry to disappoint, but this is just a storefront that sells Russell Stover Chocolates exclusively. No factory tours here. However, you will find plenty of discounted chocolates... for daaaaaayyyyyys!!!! I found chocolates from the fall. Some of the chocolate boxes are only sold at that store. If you are interested in a la carte chocolates, you can get that there, too. It's located in a small town, off the interstate. It was during the holiday season that my family and I drove through here, so they had special hours. Plenty of chocolate for you chocolate lovers and those that love gifting chocolates.

I wandered over here for a treat after having lunch at Baw Baw's, a new bbq restaurant just down…read morethe street. I've actually visited this spot before hoping for lunch. I think it's technically a dairy bar, of which there are several remaining in the north Alabama / southern TN area - a few of which are also, somewhat confusingly, named Kreme Delite. However, the other dairy bars I've visited have slightly more extensive menus than this one (usually including chicken tenders, burgers, and other typical fast food items, though usually done better than a McDonald's or Burger King). This location only offers ice cream (soft serve) creations and hot dogs. Limited options if you want a real meal. On this visit, however, I just wanted a treat. They have soft serve in scoops or cones, milkshakes, and I believe soda floats. You walk up to counter and order while staff waits on you at a window. There isn't really any seating that I recall; I ate in my car. That said, service was supremely bubbly and nice -- the young woman who took my order was very friendly and warm. My order was prepared quickly. I got a cup of vanilla and chocolate soft serve swirl. I didn't want it to be completely plain so I got crumbled Reese's cups on top. The pricing is a little...confusing, I guess. A small cup of ice cream is $2.94, which given the size of the serving, is extremely generous. However, to add any toppings, it's $1.88 for each topping. This seems like a lot for crumbled Reese's. It was a LOT of crumbled Reese's, so I guess not completely incongruous pricing, but personally I'd prefer a small smattering for like .99 cents rather than a veritable candy bar on top of my ice cream for almost $2. Idk, maybe that's just personal preference. Anyway, my MASSIVE treat was decent! I have a strong preference for fattier, denser ice cream as opposed to soft serve, but for what it was, the vanilla and chocolate both were fairly flavorful. They were also both quite smooth, as good soft serve should be. I enjoyed the pile of crumbled Reese's cups on top. Personally, I don't think I liked it well enough that I'd return with any particular regularity, but that's probably more a personal preference than anything. If you like soft serve treats, I imagine this place would do the trick quite well.

Great customer service and I greatly appreciate their accountability/ willingness to make up for our previous visit. Last night we started with the crab croquettes, STELLAR. Absolutely loved and devoured these. The crunch on the croquette was to die for, topped with a refreshing crab salad, perfect. For my entree, I had the lamb rack with house potatoes & broccolini. My boyfriend had the blackened catfish with the grits. Both dishes were phenomenal . To finish up we tried their new chocolate strawberry bread pudding, so rich and delicious. This restaurant is quickly becoming one of my favorite spots in Northern Alabama. Go give them a try! We'll 100% be back.

This seemed to want to be a foodie destination. The half fried chicken included a small drumstick, small wing, piece of breast, and another piece that was unidentifiable but might have been a thigh. It had a spicy sweet sauce covering, which we opted to have on the side. That was a good choice because the hint of Cayenne was still too much for one diner. We asked about the slaw -- whether it was had a cream or vinegar dressing. The server described it as a "creamy vinegar." It made no difference because the dressing was so understated that the side tasted more like chopped cabbage than anything else. Disappointing. Finally, I asked the server whether the grilled green beans were actually that. I was more curious than anything else because grilled green beans would be would take longer to cook. She said yes, they were grilled. I don't think so. They came out fairly quickly and were pretty universally blackened on one side. Once our food was delivered, we never saw our server again until I asked her for the check. So, what I believe was intended to be an elevated dining experience was simply under executed.

For a while, I was eating there twice a week due to board game night and D&D night and I never got tired of the food. I huge selection of miniatures and Citadel paint. Warhammer stuff too, and some board games and other nerdy stuff like dice, jewelry, candles, etc. They have a growing selection of board games to play for free while you're there. I'm also looking forward to Daggerheart events once that is out. Aside from the great selection of merchandise, they all seem to be really great people. I love spending time there. Great place!

I love all nerdy things and had pinned Current on my to-try collection a while back. It's a little easy to miss driving around, but my GPS got me there. Parking is pretty limited -- the business next door had to ask some people to move because they'd created a spot behind the worker's truck, lol -- but I had a lovely experience once I found my way inside! They have a pretty large menu for a game cafe, and much of it is vegan or vegetarian. Pressed sandwiches, burgers, baked goodies, smoothies, all kinds of coffee drinks, and salads/wraps. I wanted something warm, light, and comforting. As simple as it may be, I was thrilled to find a pressed PB&J on the menu for a low price. I was offered my selection of a surprisingly large number of jellies (strawberry for me!) and my sandwich came out quickly. I had both a sweet tea and a latte -- hydration and stimulation! Lol. The food was good, and my mint mocha latte tasted just like an Andes mint. My favorite part of this place, though, is the vibe! Nerdy and inclusive. Wish all places could be like that. :) Fun merchandise from all kinds of anime, shows, games, movies, etc; board games; a tidy all-gender restroom; Pride flags of different flavors everywhere...it really did feel like a pocket of welcomeness. I don't see enough spaces like that in the southeast, sadly, and so it's extra nice when you do come across it. There were lots of teens and folks wearing alternative style hanging around in cozy couches and tables playing games and I just love to see it! While the game and card selection isn't /massive/, it's perfectly satisfying (remember -- not a ton of space in the building) and the staff was more than willing to help with people's questions. This is a wonderful space to hang out, make new friends (if games/anime/nerd culture is your scene), and grab a bite to eat. Give it a go if it sounds like your speed!

Got my caffeine fix here before heading home from the Athens area. Good stuff!…read more First off, just so no one gets confused, this coffee is sold inside the UG White Mercantile building! The signage is pretty good outside, but it never hurts to share information. Parking wasn't too much of a challenge on a Tuesday downtown, and the cool interior of the building felt great after the short walk over. The mercantile store offers a lot of cool things to browse while your coffee is made. There's also an (unaffiliated, I think) chocolate/confection selection that's quite beautiful and impressive. Second off, let me just say I'm kind of obsessed with the branding here. It's got a plane motif and the catchphrase "your morning wingman" for coffee is just too cute. I saw this company is veteran owned; I wonder if Air Force? Not sure, but the concept is adorable regardless. Their barista seemed to be ringing a mercantile customer up when I arrived. He was very apologetic about not being right with me. It was not a huge deal at all (I waited less than 2 minutes), but I appreciated his eagerness to help me. Great service! I ordered a medium iced salted caramel + dark chocolate latte, one of their recommended flavor combos. It came in a cute cup and the ice : coffee ratio was perfect. I didn't get much dark chocolate flavor but the caramel was there for sure. It was a very creamy, thick latte with a balanced flavor. Personally, I like my lattes a tiny bit sweeter, but I'm definitely a sugar freak when it comes to coffee, so YMMV! Overall, it was yummy and I'm glad I stopped in. Give this place a go next time you need a caffeine boost!
