Got there at 11:07 and didn't get seated until 11:30am. A small line was starting and nobody would come to the host stand even when 2 workers noticed a line was starting. Clearly, not enough workers to run the restaurant smoothly. One server that came out of nowhere after everyone was standing around for 15 minutes apologized and tried her hardest to help us all sit down. There was no host, one food runner at which we noticed food was being made faster then she can even grab and serve to the tables making a lot of the food colder by the time it reached the tables. My husband's soda cup had chunks of egg floaties in his drink but by this time he didn't even want to bother asking for a new soda because that would probably take another 20 minutes. My mother's food the omelette was cold and dry. The only good thing was the strawberry waffle was delicious but not warm enough because it had been sitting waiting to be served. Overall, it's just not ran smoothly or efficiently. Food was decent but not enough for me to come back and give it a try again. Please, hire more people especially on a busy weekend. We understand places have waits and can get busy but to wait longer than 10 minutes for ANYBODY to even acknowledge customers is ridiculous. read more

As soon as we sat down I asked for a milkshake. A MILKSHAKE that took 45-50 minutes to make. Food is very bland. Waitresses were nice the one that wasn't our waitress stopped to check on us a couple times was apologetic for the extremely long wait for the shake but I don't care about the excuses of "short staff" the fact was we were there waited for our food and still didn't receive the shake until after we paid. Rustic is...rustic. Odessa doesn't always have the best food scene but this was a nice surprise. I went with one of the lighter options, fish and veggies. It was actually flavorful. The seasoning was on point and it didn't leave me feeling heavy or sluggish like most spots around here do. Don't come here if you're in a rush. It's a sit-down-and-take-your-time kind of place. The water here has a funky taste to it. The grilled chicken sandwich was mediocre at best and was dripping in mayonnaise. The Mac n cheese was decent, but I will not be coming back. Waitress was extremely slow. Needs more training. We 2 people were in for lunch. 2 other tables of people. We asked for extra napkins never came , we asked for extra gravy never came but was charged $;3.50 for supposedly some? The chicken fried steak is crispy to no end very little gravy. our server wasn't very nice. she got all of our orders wrong. The food came out cold. we are still waiting here for her come over to our table and check on us and I can't even find her to get her attention so we can get our check and leave. we have been here over an hour for 2 burgers and a kids pancake. The air about this place was that of a soon to go-out-of-business-type emptiness. The temp was right and we were seated promptly with menus. Drinks were on time and meals were overpriced for a mediocre, semi-flavored chicken fried steak, "New York" steak, and burger Dessert was ordered: key lime pie - not available. Ordered a cheese cake instead - a LAVA cake was delivered. UMMMMMM... I said this isn't a cheese cake. This waitress straight said WELL IT KIND OF LOOKS LIKE ONE. Food is delicious. The restaurant was very clean. The biggest chicken fried steak I've ever seen. The staff was excellent.

The service was ok, they need more employees but overall we had a great experience. The food is good, it's kind of like eating at Ihop and Huddle house put together. Artichoke dip was so flavorful, I only wish it was hot hot when we received it. Pizza has a fluffy chewy crust and had enough toppings, they sure didn't skimp out. Chicken fried steak meal was good but the best thing was their chopped sirloin platter and brown gravy was very tasty. I guess it depends on the day and time you go here. My first experience was great. Fast service, great grilled chicken salad with actual salad greens. This time however, it was like they have whole new management or cooks or something. Very wilted bad parts of plain iceberg lettuce, it was not even edible. Very very slow service. We had to finally go up to the register to get someone to give us a ticket so we could leave. The only nice thing was the manager took the salad off the ticket since it was so terrible, but I will probably never come here again. read more

Yes here on north 87th we are expanding as there is a Rustic cafe next to Kent KWIK and now from what I here a Starbucks coffee shop being built next to Rustic cafe - but a new coffee shop was just put in call Divine coffee - so you can get coffee at Kent KWIK - Rustic cafe - Starbucks and Divinity - we don't need coffee shops we need fast food restaurants and especially a GROCERY STORE anyone listening ? Only thing we got up here is a new SMALL dollar general to get some groceries for the thousands of homes in this area and now a new car wash is being built great job but a grocery store is what is need desperately. Rustic Cafe has a one pound burger challenge - 6 beef Pattie's with cheese between each meat and one pound of fries have I tried it - No !
