Located near the center of Chardon in a larger strip mall this store generally gets better quality items and there are some occasional gems. A typical Goodwill thrift the majority of the store is clothing, there is a large section with home goods, kitchenware and decor; the smaller sections include sporting goods, art and furniture. I have found some really nice pieces here including motorcycle boots, a Native American hand drum and a good sized All Clad pan; these types of finds bring me back to hopefully find more. I do see many items that are either overpriced or just junk; on my most recent trip I did see the lid from Whirley Pop pan by itself priced at $6, I have seen items which cost the same as if you were buying them new at a retail store. Due to its location the Chardon Goodwill store does get some great items, well worth a visit if you are in the area, unfortunately you have to wade through quite a bit of junk and overpriced items to find the good stuff. A bit more attention to the sorting and pricing would be appreciated and could help make this a destination rather then just a stop since there is a better thrift store nearby.

Located on Richmond Road just South of Miles, Thriftique is easy to miss since it is a fairly nondescript building with a small sign, but it is worth your time to find. Inside you find a nice store stocked with high quality products. Thriftique is run by the National Council of Jewish Women so there is a bit of a Jewish flavor but they also generally get really good donations. The store what looks to be a good selection of women's clothing and a smaller selection of men's clothing. For the men's clothes it is a good place to find suits, shirts and shoes. Prices are a bit higher then many thrift stores, but you are getting what you pay for. On a recent visit they were having a closeout where some clothes were either $5 or $1, although it was a bit confusing over which items were in each price range. Thriftique has great decor pieces and miscellaneous. The mix is weighted towards good stuff and I really haven't seen any junk or items that are way overpriced. Where Thriftique really shines is that they have a large selection of excellent furniture. You will find a number of couches, chairs, tables and other large items. If you are looking for better items at discount prices Thriftique is well worth a stop, you may pay a bit more, but you do get value for what you pay. The money goes to a great cause. This store is large, clean and well organized with a great staff and is always fun to shop at. Every week there are two discount colors, one is half price and the other is 75% off, which makes for some great deals. Prices overall are very reasonable and the selection is very good. The store is strongest for clothes and shoes, I have found many great and interesting suit jackets and dress shirts, including some colorful tux jackets. On my most recent visit I found a high-quality mesh motorcycle jacket for $10 and a really nice pair of Rockport shoes for $2.50 with the discount. The selection is always diverse with plenty of quality brands and items. You can usually find a decent amount of items that are the discount color even in the middle or end of the week. The store also has a nice selection of electronics, kitchenware, art, décor and bric a brac. I always seem to find some interesting items and spend quite a bit of time looking around. I have found plenty of items that I would not expect. The real jewel of the store is up front by the registers, they have glass cases with great jewelry and behind them shelves with higher end items that have been donated. If looking for some higher end items this is the place to check out. VOA Thrift is a great place to thrift, shop or just check out. The store is open early and late which allows for thrifting even if you have to work during the day. Definitely worth checking out.

In fact, I was planning to go to TJ Maxx. I detoured once I saw this store. I love North Olmsted location and was hoping for a similar shopping experience. STORE: The store has a lot of open space and sufficient room to roam. The front of the store has staging - cute women's fall outfits (like orange and corduroy skirts, and fall sweaters). There is also a table setup with Thanksgiving inspo. You'll also find clearance racks at the front of the store. The remaining space has clothing, accessories, sleepwear, books, home decor, and glass stand with jewelry. The store is well organized so that you can easily dig for treasure. If you're familiar with the North Olmsted store, expect for this one to be more modern. However, it has less space and inventory. Also, significantly less deals. INVENTORY: The inventory here is a mix of quality finds and things that lived in the attic for years. Some things are like new (like clutches and purses). Other things are really wrinkly and dated. The prices at this store are outrageous. The North Olmsted location has some finds for just few bucks which I can always justify purchasing. Here I found some surprising prices like an empty bourbon bottle for $5.99, clutch for $7.99, and other strange pricing. Simply put, you can go to competitors' stores around the area and procure new merchandise for less. The inventory is final sale - no refunds or returns. I will say that the book inventory here is well organized and pretty diverse. Lots of pretty good books for adults and children. You won't find best sellers but there are some recognizable titles. MY FINDS: I was interested in a few things. I was eyeing a brown purse but could not justify $9.99 for a used find with no brand name. I purchased a few things: two books, one scarf, and a beret. The scarf was Russian style and gorgeous. One of my items had a tag sale and I got a few bucks off my purchase which was nice. SERVICE: Service is not too friendly. I interacted with a few associates at this store and none were nice. The checkout associate observed me looking at scarves for a little too long indicating that probably there is some loss prevention issue at this store. I didn't appreciate that. PARKING: There is a spacious parking lot at the front of the store. At the time of this review there was construction and obstructions. If you go on weekends, there might be challenges associated with finding parking spots. The shopping area has a cluster of popular stores. I haven't yet decided whether I'd visit this store again. Probably more negative than affirmative. I wasn't satisfied with the value, quality of merchandise, and service. I might stop in the distant future to look for books.

So, alas, Yelp world, let me help you discover Vignettes. Located in downtown Hudson, Vignettes is a seriously beautiful store. This gorgeously curated shop is a perfect place to pick up any type of gift: engagement, bridal, baby, birthday, or hostess. Its so hard to describe their items. When you first enter, there's beautiful art amongst elegant tablewares and entertaining pieces. It flows into candles and aromatherapy, then into holiday decor. Then it turns into beautiful jewelry, elegant baby items and high-end women's clothing. They also have some of the most gorgeous cashmere, cape, poncho and scarf selections i've seen in the suburbs. Don't underestimate this shop for some of the nicest high-end clothes in the area! I believe they also do monogramming on many of their products. They had a few examples on the shelves which looked super interesting. I'm only giving Vignettes 4-stars because I have yet to make a purchase. The items are high-end, so when I make my next purchase, you can expect an update! The monogramming may be in my near future!
