Such a weird experience. Website mention they Do Not Take Rez. It's a first come first served basis. You can put down your group size. We put down our name and chilled outside waiting to be called. Hosts said the wait was 25 min for Sunday, around 12:30PM. So, while waiting outside, we saw a few more groups putting their names down. However, we were first before those other groups. We were 5th to be seated. It was highly a pick and choose who got to seat first rather than who put the name on the list first. Same thing with service. You end up waiting another 15 minutes to order drinks or food. The food was pretty good. The service was TERRIBLE!!! If you can tolerate bad service for a long wait. Go for it. Amazing place for brunch. Right in the heart of Downtown Edmonds and a great close walk to the water after your meal. Came here at noon on a Sunday and waited about 20-25min for a table (no big deal). Our waitress came right over and took our drink orders. We tried the Rusty Bloody Mary. We asked for it spicy. It was delicious. Not a usual "spicy mix" they just added hot sauce but it was unique but still a classic Bloody Mary. There was so many awesome choices to choose from and different "combos" that allowed to get more than just one breakfast item. I went with the Sante fe breakfast burrito and substituted jalapeños for onions, and switched the sausage for ham... no extra charge. I got egg whites in the burrito and it was $1.75 extra which is expected. Came with a side of fruit but she gave me the option to swap for potatoes if I had wanted. Also was served with salsa, sour cream, and guacamole. Food came QUICK and was very Hot which I appreciate. I thoroughly enjoyed my brunch here with friends on a Sunday morning, and while it was busy, everything was great, including service and food! The general ambiance and decor of the restaurant was also really cute, and I impressed with the amenities that were offered upon entrance, including iced water and Danish cookies near the waiting area. I came here for brunch with some friends. They don't take reservations for groups less than 6 on the weekends, but I was able to call ahead 30 minutes prior and get my name on the list. This made the wait shorter, and we only waited 10-15 mins for our table. They had little shortbread cookies and water near the waiting area too. The food was amazing! My 3 friends all liked what they ordered as well. Large selection of things to choose from, and the portion sizes were large for the skillets. The cinnamon roll coffee cake was nice and moist, but a bit too sweet for me. Nice selection of spiked coffee and seasonal drinks too. Went there at 8am on a Saturday morning and it was already half full. Our waitress started by offering us their various coffee cakes which we were so delicious and warm. It literally melted with every bite. Everything was delicious, even their fresh orange juice! We ordered the Dungeness crab omelette and waffle combo and both were amazing! Best waffle I've ever had. My wife gave it 3.5 stars but i was disappointed with my food. I didn't really eat much because it didn't taste right. it was a huge portion but didn't taste good at all, again just my opinion. Such a wholesome brunch spot! I loved that the menu had so many options with both classics and interesting things (Skillets, scrambles, florentines etc.). It is also very vegetarian friendly (sometimes brunch is overloaded with bacon and sausage, etc. so it was nice to have to many things to choose from). I ordered the California Benedict and it was divine! The eggs were perfectly poached and the hollandaise sauce was eggcellent. I also ordered buttermilk pancakes on the side - definitely one of the best pancakes I've had from outside brunch/breakfast places. Highly recommend both options! We've always loved the Mill Creek location of Rusty Pelican, but this one is a lot closer since we've moved to Edmonds. We've picked up breakfast from here several times during the pandemic, and have always been pleased with the quality and packaging. Today, we finally ate inside at this location for the first time. It was delicious! The coffee was fresh, the food hot, the service wonderful. I had my go-to Garden Skillet and it was so delicious, and just as good as it's been at Mill Creek. It felt so wonderful to eat a hot breakfast in a restaurant, and this will definitely be our go to in the future! read more

Good service and fun ambiance. The place is very cute and clean (including the bathrooms). The food itself was not that great. We got some scrambles and they were mostly just potatoes that were pretty mushy. I got a vanilla coffee that was on the special menu and it was not great either. My friend got chocolate chip pancakes that she said were pretty good. They offer coffee cakes and pastries that they bring samples of to look at when they take your order that looked good. Food comes out very quickly despite how busy they are. I would try this place again but would order something else. read more

The Rusty Pelican is good food - It's a little expensive for what it is though. After tip a meal of two entrees, without coffee (because it's $4 a cup), came to $40. About $3.50 of that came from the fact that we said that we're sharing our meals with our 4 year old, so the restaurant charged us for a small plate (even though she could've used the 'bread plate.' I was pretty annoyed by that. We ordered the "Combo #3," which is a Waffle, two eggs, and either bacon or sausage; as well as the Greek Omelette with two pancakes instead of toast. The waffle was large - definitely a nice portion. It was light and crispy, but a little dry. It definitely benefited from A LOT of (really good) butter and syrup. While the texture was good, except a little dryness, there wasn't really any flavor to the waffle itself. it was pretty basic. The eggs were good, no comment to that - and the bacon was crispy and thick. The Greek Omelette was okay. You definitely get a lot of food, it was a large omelette, but the flavor was so-so. The gyro meat was good, a little dry, but had decent flavor. The spinach and tomatoes were good, but I'm not sure how I felt about the olives. The side potatoes that came with the meal were not my favorite. I like a nice, crispy potato with my breakfast and these anything but that. They were soft, but had some bite, not my favorite. The pancakes were a decent portion, but a little dry. All-in-all, this isn't a bad breakfast spot. I personally feel like I'd be happier if the price was a little less and same with the portion sizes, but the quality of the food was a little better. Visiting from. The east coast . Walked in an immediately were greeted and then seated. The waitress was very attentive and very kind. We had a question about something on the menu and she got the answer right away. I ordered the omeletet special. It was spicy and cooked well. Then potatoes were a bit under seasoned for my taste but the rest of the table liked them. The toast I got was a bit burned but I covered it with extra butter. Tried this little cafe as we were looking for breakfast and it was late. What a little gem. I had the chicken fried steak with side pancake. Perfect. Really filling. We also had a Dungeness Benedict. The name of the restaurant doesn't reflect the way it looks on the inside. I expected a super casual place with not very much charm, and was pleasantly surprised. Took my mom and we had late breakfast/brunch on a Tuesday. Waited about 20 minutes and the line was forming. Obviously a very popular place. Our server was wonderful as were the cranberry mimosa, the vegetable soup, the breakfast sandwich and the San Francisco sandwich. Love the decor and the vibe. They have built a nice outdoor dining area in some parking spaces right out front. Wood floor, wood picnic table/bench combos, with acrylic dividers between seated parties on each side with a relatively wide aisle between. Very friendly hostesses & waiters. Prompt service. Had to ask for coffee refills a couple times but I drink it faster than most people so that's on me. Had the garden skillet with buttermilk pancakes. Nice quantity of fresh veggies, loved the roasted red potatoes & eggs were cooked just as requested. The pancakes were so fluffy & delicious! Friend had crab benedict & she was impressed. This place is so delicious... We stopped here for breakfast before catching the ferry to Kingston. I got an omelette with chorizo (I can't remember the name of it) and then my husband got the Pacific omelette and of course I tried them both;) they were awesome!! I found myself in Edmonds and remembered I had heard good thing online about the Rusty Pelican. It did not dissapoint. We were there in early afternoon, but I am always a fan of breakfast all day so was pleased to be able to order the California scramble. One negative was that they do not have gluten free toast, but was happy she offered to sub fruit for the toast. My husband had the avaado toast with fried eggs from the spcials menu. Food was about average, portions were large and the waitress was friendly. The interior was clean and we had a nice table near the window. Would have given it 3.5 stars if I could. I reserve my 5 stars for off the charts, and 4 for very good. and I found it to be good, enjoyable, but not amazing. That being said, I would come here again. read more

Not my favorite place to eat... went off Yelp recommendations and we ordered the Dungeness crab egg Benedicts with potatoes, Irish corn beef skillet with a biscuit, coffee and an Italian soda. The egg Benedicts smelled pretty fishy and didn't taste much of crab... the potatoes were the best part of the dish. The Irish skillet tasted like a Denver skillet... ham instead of corn beef.... the biscuit was nice though. The Italian soda had a LOT of the whipped cream from a can so it treated mostly of whipped cream but at least the coffee was decent. The best part of our meal was the coffee and biscuit... the rest we didn't finish and declined to take with us. I expected more because this cafe was hopping on a Saturday at noon. read more

This is not a bad review. I think as Americans we are way too easy on giving places 5 stars and 4 stars. In all honesty this place is ok. Just not amazing blew my mind 5 stars worthy. This place looked really nice and as I sat down I hoped I would love it and make it a new go to for breakfast. Plot twist: food was disappointing My intention was to try country fried steak. It was just ok and the service was nice. I think the expectation I had from a small breakfast place in a charming downtown area was to give me a country fried steak to remember. I noticed eggs seemed from a mix or powder and not fresh which made them a little rubbery and bland. The sum of the parts on the plate totaled to something kind of weird and disappointing.
