Chips and Salsa is the only thing I honestly enjoyed. I tried this place twice and the second visit was worse than the 1st unfortunately. Went for cinco de Mayo. Packed! We got tacos and chips with queso. Amazing queso! The order was wrong and they made me feel like it was my fault they mixed up the chicken fajita taco and the team fav as well as my fault they neglected to put the pineapples on my rusty taco. The pineapples looked terrible as if very old (color was a seaweed green) with no flavor. I did not get sick so I'm sure it was just how they make the pineapple mix now. Update: we came back and I was impressed with the salsa. It tasted fresh and the chips were hot and fresh also. Pork taco was excellent but the brisket was fatty. Gave one more star because I feel it has improved since last time. We were disappointed in the food here. Staff seemed nice but: 1. The quality of food was subpar. Wasn't impressed at all. Especially the shrimp. Tiny and rubbery. Really bad. My husband said the fish taco was bland. The pork was ok. Brisket was just ok too. 2. You can't get chips with guacamole AND salsa. I mean, you can't buy the chips and guac for $3.50 and then add in a salsa for $0.50 or so. Nope. You have to order chips and guac for $3.50 PLUS order chips and salsa SEPARATELY for $2.00. So we paid $5.50 for terrible chips, guac and salsa and they only gave us ONE container of chips, even though we paid for TWO! "Free refills" they said. That doesn't fly with with me. Give me what I paid for! 3. Salsa is AWFUL. Glorified ketchup with some green specs. Too sweet and processed tasting. 4. They don't offer a lettuce wrap for tacos. Get with the program! There is NO WAY this place has 4 stars. These are the worst tacos I think I have ever had in my life. I order four tacos the texican, two of the pork ones, and a chorizo and egg. All were garbage. I mean I know its not supposed to be authentic but damn, these were gross. I was only able to stand two bites from the beef and pork ones. The chorizo was a little better. Who Loves this place?!?! Made fast and fresh these little street tacos had distinct fresh flavors. You know how some places double or even triple the tortillas? They do not do that here and mine didn't fall apart, bonus. Heard about this place from a reliable taco connoisseur. I come here at least once a week for dine in or take out. 1. Green Street - easily my favorite with a little rojo salsa. Part of the specials menu: smoked pork cooked in tomatillo sauce, topped with jalapeno ranch, cotija cheese, cilantro, onion and avocado 2. The food was overall pretty good, but of the 10 tacos we ordered, 6 of them were mislabeled as something else and we ended up with 1 we didn't order and missing one we did. Walked in today stoked to order their brisket nachos and their tacos, realized they shrunk the menu getting rid of their best items that everyone ate and raised the prices. I get it, things are going up. Would have gladly purchased for additional money- the nachos were epic. If you have had them in the past, you know. Tacos are tacos, you can find them on every corner. I decided to visit Rusty taco on a late Sunday afternoon on my birthday. I have a soft spot for tacos and I wanted to check this place out since it is close and just opened. It wasn't real busy when we arrived. It is a big open restaurant and has nice patio seating with shade. The menu is on the wall or you can get a paper one to read for your convenience. There is a wide range of tacos and surprisingly 2 different vegetarian options. I learned that the one with mixed veggies could not be modified so I skipped on that one. We ordered chips and guac as well as a few tacos and a pineapple margarita. The guac was good, just a small amount compared to the amount of chips. The margarita was good. I enjoyed the outdoor seating because the weather was perfect but the speaker outside was exceptionally loud. It could be lowered a couple notches to make the experience a little more enjoyable. The tortillas are just basic store-bought brand and were not cooked enough for my liking. I prefer warm tortillas that are soft and these were cold and hard, almost as if they had been sitting out too long. The taco filling was a bit on the sparse side especially for the price.
