Sunday brunch at Fuzzy's was a win! We tried the Sangria-Rita swirl and it was so yummy. The guacamole was super fresh, and we highly recommend the Sonora Relleno and Shrimp tacos. I needed a quick bite to eat and felt like some tacos. Upon entering I was greeted and walked up to the cashier who was friendly and took my order. I sat in high table bar area as I thought I was going to leave once my food was ready but decided to get a margarita because "why not" it was happy hour!! So I went back up to the cashier and ordered a margarita which came right up. My two shrimp tacos followed right after and were hot and ready! Very tasty and filling. Came here on a Saturday night for the first time. The food was pretty good I got a carne asada burrito bowl and my family and I shared nachos. The carne asada was good, tender and cut smaller, which I like. The nachos were pretty good, I wish they had more toppings on it. Next time I might just get chips salsa and queso. I've heard a lot about these guys, but I've never tried them until this evening. I wasn't disappointed at all. They slice the meat right there as they assemble your sandwich. Everything was a good quality and flavor and the price was something I could live with. When I came in, they were in the middle of doing a large order of sandwiches and although it took a couple minutes for them to get to a stopping point, my wait was not very long. Always a good time for tacos and margs!! Shredded chicken is more flavorful than grilled but the shrimp is a lovely crunch. The bowl was a sharable size to finish after a taco. Not a great first impression. Cashier was gazing at the tv behind me when I tried to ask him a question. My family ordered the birria tacos, a steak bowl, a chicken bowl and a steak burrito. Food was bland in my opinion and dry. Portions are small for the price you pay. The bowls are mostly cilantro lime rice with a little bit of protein, garlic aioli, lettuce, guacamole, black beans and pico. Birria tacos were okay. Steak burrito was also just okay. read more

Taco Bell is better. Fuzzy's is skimpy on their portions. I would order their crunchy tacos and they would just line the bottom with ground beef. There was barely anything there. I brought it to their attention but it continued to be an issue. I eventually started ordering an extra side of ground beef to actually beef up the tacos from their shady portions until they charged me $3 for the smallest side of ground beef Ive ever seen in my life. I would go there because they are one of the only taco shops that serves ground beef tacos but now I am just taking my business to Taco Bell. It's much better and they actually put a good amount of ground beef in their tacos. Also Fuzzy's doesn't allow you to carry out for happy hour. It really makes no sense. They are getting the business. It leaves extra space for those who do want to dine in. It's like they are allergic to money or something. I will not be going back. My advice is buy your own beer and margaritas and pick up from taco bell. You will get better quality and portions at a better price. I wanted to support my local businesses but can't any longer especially when they can't even make a taco right. read more

I usually get the taco plate with 2 brisket tacos. I like the potato's, but forgot and ended up with rice which seemed a little dry. The potatoes are much better. The place has TV!s everywhere and there is plenty of seating. Too bad the Tempe location closed, but the Gilbert location is not bad. I would recommend. read more

Fuzzy's has been on a steady decline over the last few years.. i used to go and the tacos were decently sized packed with toppings, and now I pay $5 for the Texas brisket taco and there is literally a half tbsp of brisket on the taco. So we went here for date night because it was referred to us. This place was a lot of fun. You could definitely feel the energy as great music was playing while we were there. They were tv's everywhere which was nice because we had the unexpected pleasure of watching the Olympics while we were there. We had the chips/queso and shredded tacos. It was so good! I completely agree with one of the other reviewers on here, Eddie B. I loved the vibe at the Tempe location, Being near the university when school was in session was always a blast. The Gilbert location still has the same reliable delicious food but the location is horrible. It's in a giant massive outdoor strip mall. It's not so bad inside, still lots of fun TVs to watch the games and excellent food. Because I live in Central Phoenix, it takes me 45 minutes to get there, so it would be rare to visit. I have asked Fuzzy's via their corporate email to bring something back closer to Central Phoenix as we would love to frequent the restaurant, but it's just too long of a drive. We have always been very satisfied with the service, and the food is outstanding! read more

Something has changed in the past couple months. The quality of food has noticeably gone down. I have been a customer for quite some time so I've given them a few chances lately thinking they just had an off day. However, they have been consistent, in a bad way, with stale chips and cold queso. When we've order the shredded chicken tacos the meat has come out in chunks and cold. The sopapilla bites are normally inedible. We've ordered both take out and ate at the restaurant. Honestly, they don't even rate a meh. I ordered two fish tacos. Somehow, as served, they successfully made both tacos flavorless. There was a bottle of their branded hot sauce on the table that tasted somewhere between Tapatio and Texas Pete so at least there was some sort of taste to the food. To start, the positives: Good ambience Friendly staff Now, upon entering, you have a slight smell of fish and order at a bar stand, that is to say, they want you to be tipsy for your food to be good. Their world famous queso is basically just veleeta with some tomatoes, very disappointing and pales in comparison to their cross road neighbor Torchy's Taco's. I mean, the chips overpowered the Queso!? I got the burrito which tried to fall apart the moment I picked it up, not a bad flavor though but nothing to call home about. My family got a variety of taco's and a bowl. The overall experience was and I quote: "M for Mediocre, Lackluster, and Disappointing." If their queso was reworked, and their chicken options were tweaked to be less stringy/overcooked, I might consider a revisit. Also, when picking up silverware, almost every fork I grabbed was either still wet or had the lunch of a previous patron still on it. read more

I was craving tacos and wanted to try a new-to-us spot. Fuzzy's is not far from us, so decided give them a try. Fuzzy's Taco Shop fast casual restaurant serving Mexican food. They offer a full bar. The restaurant has a large dining room with plenty of seating including bar seating. You place your order at the counter then you're given a buzzer. Once it goes off, you pick up your order from a separate pick-up counter on the other side of the restaurant. Hubs and I ordered the following: Chips and queso Taco plate (tempura shrimp taco and beer battered cod taco) Brisket tacos The chips were nice and crisp, but the queso was too thin and runny for my liking. I ordered the taco plate which comes with two tacos and two sides. For my tacos, I chose one tempura shrimp taco and one beer battered cod taco and rice and beans for my sides. Both tacos were fried and seasoned well. I enjoyed them. I didn't try my husband's order of nachos, but he enjoyed them as well. Service was fast and friendly. Overall, a good experience. I run a pretty strict program when it comes to my margaritas and let me tell you..... Jailene was An amazing bartender!!! She told us she was new and honestly I would've never noticed. She was so amazing, great personality, very attentive and looked like she was working very hard keeping everything very clean and making sure everything was good with everyone she was attending. Well I use to go to the fuzzy's on Mill Ave in Tempe whenever I went out on a harley ride. I loved it, the food was very good, the place was very hip and cool, and the people working there fit the scene very well. Here, the food is still ok, but it's like the place lost its charm and coolness a little. Don't get me wrong, it's very clean and the decor is very nice but part of what drew me to this place WAS the sports theme, like ASU!!! It's like they took a cool little taco shop that wasn't super refined and tried to turn it into an upscale sports bar with food. I don't know for sure if I'll ever be back but maybe I'll hit the road for a ride and make this place a stop to grab some grub and give it one more try. Grab some grub is actually a phrase I would use often at the old spot but would probably never use here again. BTW, grabbin some "GRUB" is one of the reasons I enjoyed going in to the old place, that and how cool and nice the staff was. read more

Came in with the hope of a good experience, but was left with a subpar one at best. My wife ordered a taco plate and her order was mostly incorrect. Was is due to the order taker being somewhat inattentive or because it's loud in here? Not sure either way, but several issues were a big let down: She requested grilled fish for her taco and it was breaded; rice was cold and so were the beans (which was requested as black but delivered as refried). Mostly a waste and not worth bringing to their attention. I had birria tacos which were flavorful but really soggy, to the point that they flopped around like wet pasta in my hand. We also got queso and chips which was pretty good with the exception of the cheese being rather cool (a theme, perhaps?) and them having seasoning on them which we didn't know they came with. I'm disappointed and we probably won't be back. A real missed opportunity here given there's competition nearby which hasn't left us so bummed. At least they have fresh brewed tea. :/ read more

There tacos are plain ground beef no seasoning. There sour cream is taste less. They use to be very good. Not good now.

When I used to work in Tempe, I'd occasionally stop by Fuzzy's on Mill Ave. Since they opened up another location much closer my way, I stopped in here for lunch with a friend. We had gone on a Saturday around 11 and it was pretty empty; you order at the counter and pick up the food when it's ready. I had gotten the chicken nachos which was a pretty basic item .. tortilla chips topped with shredded chicken, cheese, queso, feta, pico de gallo, and garlic sauce. Nothing to write home about. My friend had gotten the nachos with shrimp (this isn't on their menu but they did accommodate). Overall, given the cost of the food, I'd say it was ok. I've had the shrimp enchiladas previously at the Tempe location and they're better. Not sure when we're going to return but nothing negative either. read more

I've been here a couple times before with friends. The menu is pretty big and I always feel indecisive. For this visit I tried chicken enchiladas (green) and a basket of chips with queso dip. For the enchiladas you can pick red, green, or queso sauce. My friend got nachos which we got the last time. What you order here can be very hot or miss. Some things are really good and others aren't the best, let's get into it: The chips were great! They had some sort of seasoning on them but it wasn't a very flavorful one. The queso for the chips was a little bland. I really relied on the tiny bit of pico de gallo that was in there. But overall would not order again. I would rather try the guacamole and chips. The enchiladas were amazing! I am very picky with restaurant enchiladas. I never find one I truly enjoy. But I loved these ones! The sauce was really good. I would definitely order these again. The beans and rice were okay. I used my beans with my chips for extra flavor but the beans themselves were also bland, or at least needed salt. My rice was the worst as it had hard grains of rice in every bite. I couldn't even eat it. Next time, I will be trying a quesadilla and the chips and guacamole.
