Ok, here we go. I don't know HOW this place has a 4.6 rating! Where do I start? I'll start with my 4.27 birriera taco. Absolutely no flavor or seasoning. I added salt, which helped, but couldn't save it. The consome should have helped, but it was luke worm, had a layer of fat on top, and no flavor or seasoning. The tripita taco, once again, no seasoning. It had three textures. Soft rubber, chewy rubber and crispy rubber. I realize it's a little tricky to cook to get it right. Low and slow. This was not right! After one bite, i was done. Now for the shrimp taco. 3.50 for two tiny shrimp. The only saving grace was they were cooked fairly well. Don't know where they get their taco shells, but they are somehow smaller than a street taco. My wife had the 4 rolled taco plate. The tacos were crispy, but once again lacking flavor or seasoning. The beans were ok, but no salt. The rice was cooked ok, but pretty bland. We agreed that this was the worst we have had. The place was clean and the waitress pleasant and friendly. I ordered the street tacos here and had mixed feelings. The meat itself was actually very delicious and well seasoned, service was excellent, so credit where it's due. However, the tacos were very small and had very little meat. I paid almost $13 for three tacos, which felt overpriced for the portion size. I also found it funny that the place is called Blue Tortilla, yet there was no blue tortilla included just regular street tortillas. I originally wanted to try the lengua tacos since they were listed on the menu, but unfortunately they were out when I visited. I had an appointment in the area on Cinco De Mayo and we were looking for some really good street tacos to eat. Normally we go to Taco's Tijuana for amazing street tacos but this place knocks everyone in the area out of the ballpark due to the warm hospitality that you get here as well as more menu options. The asada tacos are really tender pieces of flavorful meat that I can't really put into words accept for yummy! I also noticed that they have shrimp tacos and the shrimp to tortilla ratio is perfect you get just the right amount of shrimp pieces to fill out the tortilla. It's a smaller shop but they have specials on Tuesdays and the customer service is fantastic. Everyone skip your local boring Taco shop and stop in and try this location you can't go wrong. read more

My first impressions were good. The staff greeted us warmly, and the restaurant was extremely clean. We ordered the Al pastor tacos and the birria plate. Both were delicious, but the Al pastor tacos were our favorite. I definitely recommend this place. Great food and great service. read more

This place is going downhill.... FAST. My boyfriend and I were loyal customers here. We order from here atleast once a week. The food is good but it has been so inconsistent. Today, we ordered from here as usual through DoorDash and got our usual. They completely messed up our order.... I have never experienced service / food so terrible. Our chicken tacos came with no onions, our burrito came with no guac, we ordered an extra side of onions and jalapeños and they only gave us onions......we didn't even the the drink we ordered. When we reached out to the restaurant the guy never once apologized or even took accountability for so many things being wrong instead he tried to argue that those items that we order EVERY WEEK do not come with certain things that we know do... I was in Instagram when a post from this restaurant popped up. I decided to grab lunch here, and I'm glad I did It is a strip mall restaurant with a couple of tables outside, and several tables inside. The walls are painted with bright colors, which I love. Grinch themed Christmas decorations were up, and they did a really great job of them. The little Christmas tree was decorated so well! I loved the drinking glasses, which are like tall clay mugs with brightly painted designs. The girl who took our order was very sweet, and came to check on us often. You order at the counter, and they will bring the food our too your table. I ordered the birria tacos. Three tacos are served with consomme, rice, and beans. I'm super picky about rice, and I really liked this rice. The consomme was delicious! My son ordered the pastor quesadilla, which was stuffed with pastor. Sooo good! Cute little place! Came on a Tuesday and it was empty. I ordered 2 $2 tacos which was the Tuesday special. We also ordered a birria quesadilla. Food came out super quick! The meat (asada & pollo) was really well seasoned, but a little dry. Good portion though. The birria quesadilla was stuffed with meat and my 14-year-old who LOVES birria said the consume was some of the best he had had. The staff was very friendly and cleaned up our plates as we finished. Cute little place -- no air in the middle of summer in AZ was a little warm, but we made do!! The lady taking orders was so nice and helpful. The food was delicious. The birria had an overwhelming cinnamon flavor to some people with me, but I personally didn't mind it. The only "bad" thing was the fries in the birria fries tasted like they were from the day before -- not at all hot and super soggy. Otherwise everything was good! Their menu isn't extensive, which is great to perfect what they do have. I ordered the combo tacos with chicken, pork pastor, and carne asada. All the meat was well seasoned. Tasty on their own. But my husband ordered the birra plate and I may have snuck some/alot of his broth. It really made the taco. I did like the red salsa. Nice and spicy. These tacos would have been great alone but the birria put it over the top. My husband liked his birria plate. It was a pot roast style meat with birria and tortillas. He was eating every last piece of meat. He did say it was a little greasy but overall very tasty! My rice and beans were good, but nothing too exciting. There was a steady flow of customers with about 10 small tables to sit at indoors and a couple of tables to sit at outside. We were immediately seated. The tacos were delicious (I tried chicken, carne asada) but are very small. If you're hungry, order an extra 1 or 2. The salsas are very good, too. The chips were a little burnt but are homemade. This is a good to go option. Easy online ordering, food was hot and ready at pickup. Friendly service. They give you green and red sauces for the tacos, I didn't think the red was as hot as it should be but flavor was good. The steak fries were just ok, the toppings made the fries really soggy and the fries didn't have much flavor. Quesobirria needed more cheese and a crispier shell but they were generous on the meat. Rice and beans were good. Steak on the tacos was a bit too chewy for my liking, I'll try another meat option next time. Overall, not bad ... are there better options, absolutely. First...5 stars for the carne asada burrito we shared at a baseball game for our grandson. They had their food truck at the game. Fantastic burrito filled with tender favorable carne along with beans, rice, pico and guacamole. It was big enough for two of us to share! HELLO chips & salsa!! Had dinner here last night at this new spot and it was so good. It was just a food truck before and now it has a store front! They just opened it in January 2022. I am new to Blue Tortilla - didn't know about them before visiting last night. The owner, Carlos, was so genuinely nice. He is proud of his food (as he should be!) and the fact that he makes everything fresh. I seriously felt like I was just at my friends house and their abuelita was serving us some delish food. Their chips are made fresh and so damn good. Light, not too thin, crispy and fresh. I will crave those! And the salsa... soooo good. Perfect amount of heat. Tacos = bomb. Better than Backyard tacos. Alrighty here is my take. The place is super clean and welcoming. The girl who attended me was helpful with my questions and checked up on me to make sure I didn't need anything when I was there. I ordered one of each: lengua, carne asada, tripa, and pastor. She said the pastor and birria sell out fast but luckily there was some pastor. My two favorites were lengua and tripa. The asada was ok and the pastor... it had a hint of sweetness and that's just not for me. I was pretty satisfied and still am hours later. Very much recommend. read more

1st time here tonight and so glad we found them. We've been having trouble finding good Mexican food since moving from S. California. We got 3 burritos- Pastor, chicken and Carne Asada and all were great. Very fresh, lots of meat, and the flavors were great. Only complaint is we didn't taste much guacamole so not sure if it was only a light spread or it got missed. And no chips- didn't know it wasn't included. But very glad we tried them. Felt their prices were reasonable for what we ordered . Looking forward to going back to try the Tortas, and maybe some grilled peppers we saw on some of the pics on their Yelp profile. read more
