Pleasantly surprised with this pizza parlor. We had intended to pick up dinner at Main Street but parking was annoying and Rusty's parking was so convenient. Funny that we actually saw an ad for Rusty to save the day on a bus and realized we were so close! We ordered a medium thin crust special pizza with many toppings including sausage, onions, anchovies, pepperoni and a drink for about $29. It was good despite the interesting mix of toppings. Service was also decent and not a bad wait on a Friday night. You could tell this place is not fussy but a reliable place to get some grub with family. read more

Driving by on our way to San Jose from San Diego and tried out this place This place reminds me of a shakeys and round table pizza together. It's has a medieval times theme to it. We were confused on where the door was when you walk in. And the person behind the counter didn't say much just starred at us. Didn't greet us or anything. However, the place was clean and the pizza was delicious! We got the pan pepperoni large pizza and one drink for $29 I wish salad was included with the purchase. I've been to the Rusty's pizza on Milpas serval times and it was great, good pizza. Visited SB this past weekend 11/29/25 and the Rusty's on Carillo was the closed to us and I ordered the Diablo pizza, was disgusting! I was surprised because I've had it b4 on Milpas and it did not disappointed. For whatever reason the pizza on Carillo St had a really bad taste. Almost seem like they are mixing old sauce w/new sauce it was disgusting. Me and my family had to throw away. Customer service was bad as well. Seems like the young kids are just there to collect a few dollars and treat customers with "do it yourself" attitude. I hardly leave any reviews but I will not go back to this location. read more

Honestly this pizza is great. I've lived here 3 1/2 years right down the street from this location and just tried it tonight. I'm pleasantly surprised. We had a great experience at Rusty's! Tried the Rusty's Special, thin crust. Excellent! The anchovies on it made it very old school. To start, I've been a customer to this location for 15+ years. I ordered a meatball sub and thin crust pizza with mushrooms and meatballs. The pizza tasted great. Unfortunately, after getting home (25 minutes away) and eating some pizza I realized the sandwich I was given was incorrect. I called the store and spoke to a supervisor who told me their phone AI order taker placed the wrong sandwich order. I was told I couldn't receive my correct order unless I returned to the store with the incorrect sandwich. I'm really disappointed with their customer service considering a pizza and sandwich was $40. Will be looking for a new regular pizza spot. read more

Nice ambiance in a wooden house, not too many people at the time. Waited not too long for it, pizza was alright. Chewy dough, not too much flavor, good amount of toppings. Bring back the old ordering system! This new AI system is horrendous. It's only managed to get my order right once, and it has repeatedly stated that the business is closed when it's still open for over an hour. We shouldn't have to argue with AI for 10 minutes and then get put on hold to talk with an Indian call center just to order a single pizza. All that being said, I do love the pizza. The buildings are great, the video game choices are on point, the staff friendly, the vibe warm. I've recently fallen in love the El Diablo Fuego pizza - so excessive, so delicious. I would absolutely recommend Rusty's to anyone looking for tasty meal or a place to host a pizza party. I've been frequenting Rusty's for 30 years, since I had my childhood birthday parties in the bank vault, and I certainly will continue to patronize it. But I've been ordering Rusty's a lot less lately because of the hassle of talking to incompetent AI program. And you made this change for what? So you could save a few bucks by laying off the 4 or 5 people who staffed your local call center? This was not a savvy business decision. - Applause all around for this place. We tried at least 5 other restaurants in the area and couldn't get in so finally, starving we arrived here around 9pm. It was very, very busy, we placed our order and then grabbed a table near the order counter and watched the staff here operate like pros. It really was a pleasure to observe as they gladly served good food FAST! The staff were happy and up beat despite what was the end of a grueling Saturday rush in a holiday weekend. We got a garden special thin crust, and pepperoni pan pizza. They were both crispy and tasty. And the price was extremely reasonable. Don't mistake this for the fine dining that dominates the area-just enjoy it for the tasty pizza and beer at a very fair price that it is. First of all, I really hate giving bad reviews but when customer service is horribly rude then this should be addressed by management immediately. I agree with other yelp reviews saying that the customer service in this branch is horribly rude after experiencing it personally when we placed an order online and gave them a call ( on Sept. 26th). If I could only give 0 or negative stars for customer service then that is what I would have placed. The pizza here is really good, in fact it is one of my all time favorites, however, customers just don't patronize an establishment for food but for customer service as well. Normally, my husband and I would dine in or pick up the food ourselves. However, since it is a weekend we decided to place an order online (Sept. 26th). Since the order went beyond an hour, he decided to give Rusty's a call to check if it was delivered to the correct address or if there is a way to check with their delivery to know about the exact situation. However, the lady who answered was rude and dismissive right from the very beginning of the conversation (the call was on speaker phone that is why we could clearly hear the tone of her voice). When my husband said: " We would just like to know if the delivery is on its way..." The lady answered rudely and sarcastically: that is what I mean and just dismissed the inquiry as if the call was a nuisance. So, I called back again and she was the same person who answered. She asked for the phone number and I gave my daughter's number (thinking that it was her account that we used) but then immediately corrected it to my husband's number. She again sarcastically said while she was some sort of giggling: you are giving me so many numbers... So, I told her that she was also the person my husband spoke with (since I could clearly remember her voice and sarcastic tone). She then became extra dismissive and then just said: "...I'll transfer your call to the supervisor..." For what?! She did not even give her name and just cut off the conversation by transferring it to the supervisor. When the call was transferred to Jonathan, I mentioned what happened and asked the name of the lady who transferred the call since she is horribly rude (by making customers feel that they are a nuisance since she is very dismissive of the customer inquiries and concerns). No wonder this is the majority feedback in terms of customer service for phone calls. The employee no. of the person we spoke with is 1134. This is really a frustrating experience with Rusty's. The food is flavorful and good but there is a great disconnect with their customer service. Customer service reflects the company's culture and if employees continue to treat their customers as a nuisance if they are busy, then they may lose some patrons because of this. Hoping that customer service will improve particularly for the ones answering the phone calls; especially, that they are in the service industry. Interpersonal skills is a must if you are working in customer service. read more

Wasn't my best experience here with the cashier. She may have been having an off day! I grew up eating Rusty's..so after visiting the nearby museum I took the kids in for some pizza. From what I remember growing up it hasn't changed. We got a pan cheese pizza, and salad bar. Pizza was delicious-salad and toppings were fresh. Really disappointed! I'm from socal and this is normally one of my favorite places to eat when I'm in Santa Barbara, however, after today I don't know if I'll be coming back. I tried to go in at 4:30 and the doors were all locked. I tried calling the restaurant to see if they're closed randomly and got sent to a call center and had to be transferred twice just to answer my question. Long story short they were open and just had the door locked (I'm assuming the employees were just too lazy to work today). Then, my fiancé went to use the restroom and there was no toilet paper. When he informed the employee, he was told to use the other restroom. To top it off, there was a homeless man asking me if I was going to eat my pizza (inside the restaurant!). I was wondering why the place only got 3 stars when the pizzas I got were 2 of the best pizzas I've ever had! Guess the service was no bueno? Came in late night on whim. Sundays they close at 11 p.m. Thank God cuz we got so hungry after some night swimming and this place was only about a 10 minute walk. The guy at the front (9/18) was kind and patient. We came in 30 mins before closing, but no one gave us the impression that they wanted us to leave as we dined in. Except they turned off the lights while we were eating, but this was 10 mins after 11 so, yeah, I get it...lol. Pizza? 5 Stars!! Soda machine with self-serve refills? They had 4 tea options (Green sweetened, Raspberry, Sweet Tea, Unsweetened) Kudos to Rusty's for looking out for us non-soda drinkers!!! read more

Horrible customer service. The employees who answer the phones, need to be trained better. When we called in, the employee who answered seemed bothered that we were calling in. We order from Rustys at least twice a month. We managed to place an order and we were told it would be delivered in about 45 mins. An hour and 15 mins later, we called to check in and were told our order was not completed because we did not confirm our order. That was funny because they charged our card yet never said we had to call back to confirm. We have ordered for years from Rustys, and we have never had to confirm our order. It was obvious they forgot the order. Had they apologized and said they would expedite the order, that would have been fine. But the way they made it our fault for the order not being placed, made us upset. If you make a mistake, own up to it. Do not blame your customers. Ultimately, we cancelled the order, and ordered from Giovanni's. I'm not ordering from Rustys anymore. read more

Decided to have takeout on the way back to Lompoc and I always see this place when I enter SB. I definitely liked the atmosphere and can tell this is a nice to-go spot for family pre-COVID. I ordered the bbq personal pizza and it hit the spot. The slices were perfectly cut and the pie was made to full satisfaction. I definitely plan to visit again. Three stars because the pizza was tasty. Could have been an easy 4 star. Good sauce but really skimpy on cheese. Tastes like Shakey's. Ordered salad and mild wings, too. Wings were oily. Salad was basic but good. What got me about this place is that nobody offered any service- as in courtesy, not Disney. We had to walk to the counter several times to order and pay-get our drinks-then Pizza-then charged us for 3 little ranch sauce sides. I don't mind the paying for extras, but we had already been seated when they called our name for the order being ready. The counter person asked if we were going to drink our wine bottle inside...(?). Really? There was 6 people behind the counter. At least three of them looked at us when they called our name. Food was decent, but the service was just not there. The dining area was cool, like an old pub type place, but stuffy. My party is 4 wished we could open a window because it felt like the swamp cooler was just moving old air. Take the order to go.
