Just landed at Little Bird Kitchen for their burger week $10 special. Fortunately it was right before the after work rush hour. I greeted very friendly at the counter. My food came and one bite into my burger and I immediately moved LBK up my "top burgers for burger week" list. I'm gonna move it up to #5 of my 8 so far. What a difference homemade thousand islands dressing can make. The burger pattie itself was very flavorful. You can't go wrong in the public market. Atmosphere is always top tier here. read more

I found out about this place during burger week. Burger looked delicious and actually their fish sando looks great as well as the fried chicken. After a nice hike this burger and onion rings hit the spot. Tasty smash style burger, a bit greasy but enjoyable. The onion rings are top tier, fries are good. This place is really expensive. We spent $63 on all of this. The burger and fries were good, but the fries alone were six dollars which was very pricey. The burger was good, I would call it a smash burger as the meat was thin and crispy. I was definitely full afterwards! The Little Bird Sandwich however was falling apart, and the flavor was not impressive. It was $2 to make it spicy, but it looked like they just put some chili oil on it which ended up everywhere but the sandwich. I really enjoyed the milkshake. That was our favorite part although $10 was expensive. We got chocolate and it had a bit of a minty taste which I liked! read more

In the Santa Barbara Public Market. I feel like we happened upon 2 gems here. The Public Market was off the main drag, State St, kind of unassuming from a tourists perspective. We came into the lively market looking for a healthier option. We discovered Little Bird Kitchen, and hubs and I shared a Tuscan Kale Salad with Chicken, that was a great sized portion, with tons of fresh ingredients and ended up being very filling for us two. Oooh the chicken sandwich known as the little bird is massive! Somewhat of an oxymoron. This has two slices of chicken -buttermilk fried chicken breast! Filling a flavorful. There is an option to add spice to the chicken. Located in the SB public market, the service is prompt whether eating at the market or ordering for takeout. I was able to enjoy lunch at the Public Market recently and opted to try Little Bird Kitchen. I chose the mixed lettuce salad bowl and added grilled chicken. It was delicious! I love beets and the poppyseed dressing was such a good compliment. The salad was beautifully displayed with spreadable cheese on the side of the bowl! The staff working were so friendly and helpful. Yes, this is fast, casual dining, but do not mistake it for fast food quality. I had the little bird sandwich and it was very, very good. The chicken was moist and tender and crispy without being greasy. There were two very large pieces of chicken breast. I ended up opening the sandwich and having two open face sandwiches. Ate here for the first time recently before an Arlington show. Tucked in the back of the Public Market, things were bustling but not overly crowded. Minimal but diverse selection of salads, hamburgers, fried and grilled chicken and fish sandwiches plus kids meals. We had a cheeseburger, fried chicken sandwich and a couple of orders of fries. You can grab a beer at the bar right next door to have with your meal. Food came out hot and fresh. Great flavor, nice portions and not greasy. Fries were fresh and crisp too. I really liked the corn dog. You can tell they made it from scratch. I think they could have added more honey than the small amount which seaped into the container. My friend told me he would get the corn dog next time after he tasted it. He said the fried chicken sandwich was just ok. It was so hot in the public market today so we sat in front of a fan. The service was very good and the public market is always clean. I think they could have put the air conditioning on to a lower setting today. read more

We saw this new spot during a visit to public market at the beginning of July. Spoke with owner Josh and were excited to have a new spot to try. Little Bird Kitchen popped up on a search for chicken wings. I've tried a lot of wings in town and was curious about their offering. We dove right in and chose the dozen classic wings, with the intense sauce on the side. First bite- wow. Crisp on the outside, tender and juicy on the inside. They were so fresh and (temperature) hot, it was hard to contain myself as they cooled. Perfect wings- top three favorites in SB. We also had the kale salad. Standard issue, super fresh kale. Chicken sandwich was a disappointment. Small bun, chicken too thick to convey the seasonings, under salted. Very bland taste. Love this addition to the public market! The absolute best chicken wings I've had. High quality, good food! I've also had them cater a small event (25 people) and everything was stellar. Ordered the "Little Bird" fried chicken sandwich and one "LBK Rockys" oyster. The sandwich was good, but fell apart very easily. I also expected a larger sandwich for $15. For the oyster, it just tasted like a mouthful of warm hollandaise sauce and Parmesan cheese. If thats what you want, or if you don't like oysters very much, then I'd order it but theres no actual oyster flavor. I was very disappointed. read more

I will just forgo the onions next time. That said, the salad was exceptional! The Korean fried chicken wings do you need some attention. They were very mushy and to be honest, slimy--not crispy on the exterior and tender on the inside and the gochujang sauce should be switched out. It's a little off in its taste. I feel it should have more of a spicy-savory honey-sweet mouthwatering gochujang balance. Hint, go to Den Den Korean Fried Chicken in Providence, RI--though I need to remember this is a pub and not a Korean restaurant, ...there are better recipes out there that are worth testing out. I think the flavor and texture was off and can be improved on significantly. The pizza was pretty good--great for a pub and even better heated up the next day in a skillet with olive oil making the crust slightly crispy. There's ample outdoor and indoor seating with that perfect Corner Tap vibe. Also, noteworthy, inside the place it is absolutely spotless! We will return as it is a great place in a great location.

Overall, we enjoyed everything; however, for the two of us we felt we could have done without the fries -- as the pizza and burger would have been enough. We would definitely return again in the future.
