I'm usually interested in vintage stores and items and I get really excited about vintage shops. I'm surprised because most of the time I haven't really found anything in my style. I was able to find a really cute pair of shoes and a cute bag. I have also been gifted beautiful bags from this shop in the past. They have a wide range of prices, so you do have to pay attention to what you're buying and think about adding a tax. The store also doesn't typically offer discounts, but I have noticed that for an item that might need repair they do have flexibility. The employees are also very kind, flexible, and informative. Overall I would recommend this shop to those who love shopping for vintage clothing and accessories and I look forward to browsing here again.

This store sells many nice things for the home that you can buy on the spot, but the store is also the base for people who want to get a professional to help decorate their homes Yates & Kennedy occupies about 500 square feet on Commercial St, and owner Mitch Yates has created areas throughout the shop that teem with personality. The shop, which has been around for over 10 years is chock-a-block full. Antelope horns lean against agate bookends, watermark pillows rest next to small oil paintings, and claw-foot candlesticks, magnifying glasses and a jewel-encrusted crown share table space. A variety of vintage wallpaper serves as backdrops to the diverse assortment. Yates has even created a space for a great assortment of espadrilles and hand screened T-shirts by his best friend, John Kennedy. The shop, like a room with character, is spirited and charming. When you visit, plan to spend some time there; you never know what you'll uncover.

But, Moda Fina has received a 2 star rating for a reason. The clothing was great, but who I assume is the owner, was just plain rude. The sales girls were so nice and did help me with all my prospective purchases to the dressing room. They were really willing to help. Strike number one: I saw the older woman yelling at one of the girls about leaving to help a customer and leaving herself on the register. She replied that she thought she was supposed to help the customers, and the woman aggressively told her that she was wrong to do that. Strike two: when I asked about a price on a skull decoration, she nastily told me to "check the tag" with a condescending tone and face to match. I then informed her that there was no tag, and she spit out a price off the top of her head. Strike three: I was pretty sure I wanted a really cute maxi skirt with a carrot print, but I needed to mull it over in my head to see if I really wanted to add it to my collection. I saw the sign in the dressing room that stated to bring all merchandise back to the sales associates when done. I brought it up there and handed it to the same lady who was rude to her sales associate and myself. I said I just needed some time to think about it, and that I would be back either way by the end of the business day. She then says, very passive aggressively, with an audible "tut" sound, "If it will still be here". She then walked away without my info, or even a good bye. In short, even if I love the products in this very cute store, I will NEVER be back to Moda Fina because of the absolute and blatant disrespect of her sales associates, myself, and the basics of customer service.

The shop lady rudely told me to finish it outside before coming back in. I left and told her I would not be back and will not stand outside, eating a bag full of candy. I've been to many shops to browse and purchase - high-end (Ferragamo, Gucci, Louboutin, etc.), local boutiques of all kinds, vintage/thrift, department stores - no one has ever told me to finish my food/drink outside and then come back in. A better shopping experience suggestion would be to ask the customer to place it by the door or register, and pick it up when leaving. There were 2 employees working, the young lady at the register saw me walk in eating and acknowledged me but did not say anything about the food. However, the old woman did. Perhaps all employees should be trained on store rules, unless the store enjoy putting customers in inconsistent and awkward situations. Also, put a sign up. There is no sign that indicates no food or drink shopping. also The price points are too low for such snobby attitude. The shop was also empty when I walked in, go figure.

A bit of a scam. So many items are badly/cheaply made and very expensive. Bought a fan that was 2x…read morethe price of anywhere else. Found out after my card was run that they charge 6.25% to use a credit card. I also found out that they don't do returns (only credit). Wasn't on the receipt. Only place that info was communicated was on a sign near the register that was covered with stuff. So many little shops run by lovely people along commercial. Will spend my money there next time.

Not only did I instantly find it there on demand--but the fabulous person on staff asked what size 'fro I needed! They even had rose colored glasses and dangly earrings to complete my 70's get-up. Warning: La Rue has a hypnotic effect on shoppers who unwittingly may succumb to their inner drag-queen. I saw one woman (a tourist from Kenya) easily spend $450 bucks in there like she was at a Macy's shoe sale. She might have stopped by for a cute crop top to dance all night in...but left with several sparkly outfits, accessories and an elaborate feathered headpiece she can moonlight as a Vegas showgirl in. La Rue is La Awesome!
