Probably the best French Onion Soup I have ever had! Circa 2026

I'm not a big fan of Franchise Restaurants but for what is worth, Ruth's Christie's absolutely amazing success in the long run of survival in the narrow market of high end steak and lobster eateries paired with exceptional offerings of Napa Wines in the likes of Mastro's and Fleming's of the USA shows me that it's still the best option when traveling to the unknown city for the gastronomy critics. My wife grew up in the restaurant industry and shared her experiences with me in this regard and opined that for the typical restaurant chains of the exceptional food and service to survive the most cutthroat high end steak houses, which there are many and are mostly serving the very few regulars, the restaurant must offer something so unique and consistency! For example I noticed that the experience of the quality service staff from the elegant Maĩtre d : the master of the front standing guard of the old traditional butler with exceptional attire and aged attitude, the pretty greeter, the tall and slim water waiters and beautiful waitresses are all part of excellence in dining experiences part of the success formula. Then the choice cuts of beef and shrimp are must. The filet must be firm outside and extra soft inside with perfectly seared shrimp on top and served with sizzling butter sauce browned with caramelized onions and garlic butter you will never see them or feel them as you start cutting into the 6 oz. meat. The César salad must have raw egg and anchovies with absolutely beautiful thinly shredded Parmigiano-Reggiano that brings consistent flavor with each bite. I love traditional constellations of fine dining that never get old as I get older. I love the professionalism in every aspect that comes with aged perfection like this restaurant standing guard against the times of change and chaos! Sometimes you want to surround yourself in the comfortable embrace of perfection and you definitely need to! My friends: Go for the Albuquerque's best offerings in this establishment, take our word for it. You will be pleasantly satisfied! Bon Appetite!

Amazing Friday night at Ruth's Chris in Albuquerque, New Mexico! We made an impromptu reservation for dining in the bar area. We were promptly greeted and seated at one of the best tables in the restaurant! We were Swifty greeted by our server and drink orders were taken on the spot. Started off our evening with shrimp cocktail appetizer which was an absolute treat! For huge shrimp with the very best cocktail sauce around! For our mains, we had fillet, shrimp, french fries, and brussels sprouts. Every single part of our meal was delicious! Finish things off with the new chocolate, molten lava cake and two ice cold glasses of milk! The restaurant manager, Logan, made rounds and greeted us very warmly and was super attentive! I drink a ton of water and he really filled my glass all night, without asking and without it being empty... He always kept me full! We have had many subpar experiences in this area however, tonight with Ruth Chris Steakhouse was a complete delight and a treat! Thank you, Logan, Kyle and the entire team at Ruth Chris is there anything else that steakhouse in Albuquerque, New Mexico! By the way, if you've ever checked out their happy hour... It's the best in town!

I've eaten at many steakhouses across the country and this is my first time at a Ruth Chris Steakhouse. we were passing through and did not have a reservation, but was quickly greeted by staff and seated. Our server was Santiago, what a great young man. Very good at what he does. Accommodating, prompt, polite, made our anniversary wonderful, what else can you ask for. If there were more stars that could be given he would get double. Anyway, I ordered the fillet and shrimp and it was absolutely scrumptious. I consider myself a crème brûlée expert. And I'm not kidding you. This is it. If you just stop by to have the crème brûlée as a dessert, you would be blissfully delighted. kudos to the whole staff for a job. Well done! The decor was on point, wine wall and a wonderful mirror of the Blue Swallow Motel in Tucumcari. SEE PHOTOS

I decided to try Ruth Chris for my birthday. It had been many years since I have been to Ruth Chris and forgot what the experience was like to be honest. So I decided to give it another shot to see if we can add it to our regular weekend routine. First of all they set up such a beautiful birthday setup on the table and they sang happy birthday for me which was really nice! I had the ribeye steak which, for a non wagyu steak was pretty good! It had flavor, was tender and some parts of it had a melt in your mouth experience. Compared to other non wagyu steaks I give this a 10/10. The cheesecake I had... oh my god!!! This was a free dessert for my birthday but it was I kid you not, maybe the best cheesecake I've had my entire life! The Mac and cheese came cold the first time around, the lobster was also a little raw in the middle, they sent it back and had it re made. What they ended up bringing back was a lobster Mac and cheese! I ended up getting more lobster back than what I sent back and the new dish was nice and hot. The Brussels sprouts were not too hot either and didn't have that least crunch I was hoping for but they were still pretty good, especially when I reheated them later at home. I just didn't wanna constantly complain so I didn't mention that. I raved about the cheesecake to the manager and him being such a nice guy brought us two free ones at the end. What a kind gesture! I was so excited it really made my day! Again, the kitchen messed something up because when we opened it up, it was a different cheesecake, this new one was chocolate , of which I'm not a big fan . The wait staff service was excellent, the manager was awesome, so was our server. The kitchen staff definitely had a few kinks they needed to work out. The ambiance was really classy, like a big city fancy restaurant should look, and the service was on par with what you would expect in q big city too. All in all I would go back and try it again.

    Pomegranate martini

So I know I posted in my last review, that I probably wouldn't be back to this restaurant but here we are again (lol) and I'm so glad we did. We went on a Friday night, and the place was packed. Our server was super friendly and personable. My husband and I decided to share everything. We started with drinks -- an old-fashioned and a pomegranate cocktail. Both were delicious, and my husband said it was the best old-fashioned he's ever had! For dinner, I ordered the house steak salad without onions and with the dressing on the side. Unfortunately, it came with both, and the balsamic vinaigrette was really thick and heavy. There was so much dressing that I couldn't really enjoy the salad, so I skipped it. I did not tell the server because she was really busy and I didn't want to make a big deal of it. We also ordered the T-bone steak (medium) and garlic mashed potatoes. The steak was perfectly cooked and absolutely melt-in-your-mouth amazing. The mashed potatoes were good too. Overall, we had a great experience and will definitely be back for another great steak!

    Vesper Martini

Came with mí familia to celebrate a birthday. Nice touch when we sat down the Maitre Di sprinkled birthday glitter on the table and placed a Happy Birthday card. Had a Vesper Martini while others enjoyed the Sauvignon Blanc wine. Calamari was the appetizer of choice and it was delicious. Some had the House Salad and the Lobster Bisque, both excellent choices. Two went with the Ruth's Classic Filet and Lobster Tail, creamed spinach and garlic mashed potatoes. One went with a Lobster Tail and Oscar Medley consisting of a Crab Cake with Bernaise sauce over asparagus. I went with the 11 ounce Filet and Scalloped Potatoes. Bam all our dishes were cooked as requested and were excellent. We closed out with the Cheesecake desserts and they too finished the meal well. Albuquerque has another great restaurant serving up top quality food. Bravo Ruth's Bravo

Crab stuffed mushrooms and seared ahi
    Marie S.

We came to a seminar here and the food and service were fabulous. We were led upstairs to the banquet room and were given choices of sodas or tea (which were included). Appetizers (ahi tuna and crab stuffed mushrooms) were served family style, as well as the sides of broccoli and the garlic mashed potatoes. I got the filet and shrimp medium well. The plate was hot and buttery and the steak was the perfect flavor and easy to cut. Dessert was the chocolate sin cake, which was more like a mousse. For a weekday night, it wasn't terribly crowded. Perfect for special occasions. 2024 #16

Lobster that was added to steak

So this was my first time here and I must say I'm pleasantly surprised at how good it was. We are traveling so hot there right as it opened at 4 on the day after Christmas. They were booked but we sat at the bar. Lucky for us it was happy house. The martinis were great. We had impeccable service and it was nice and quiet since I think we missed the dinner rush. The prices are what you expect from a steak house but it really was great.

    Is there a dress code?

A very loose one. Supposably no gym wear, swimwear, tanks, offensive signage. Last time we were there, there were people in sweats.

Can I buy a gift card for Ruth's Chris?

    I think so

My friend and I only drink water, don't care for very expensive steaks, and are satisfied with a simple salad and a few shrimp. Would $50 or so be enough to cover the majority of our meal?

I would say no. The cheapest steak is about 40 something dollars. Sides/salad are not included since they are sold a la carte. Salads run about $10 and to add shrimp about $15/6 shrimp. The "Ruth Classics" are generally a better option. The cheaper… Read more

Hidden Gem in Nobhill Albuquerque…read more I recently visited the restaurant at Mission Winery and had a great experience from start to finish. To start, I ordered the sangria and the crab & artichoke dip. The sangria was on the sweeter side but not overwhelmingly so, making it easy to enjoy with the appetizer. The dip was delicious, creamy, and packed with flavor, although I honestly couldn't taste much artichoke. It was still a great starter, especially paired with the bread. For dinner, I ordered the red chile fried chicken bites with fries. The chicken was the standout of the meal--crispy, flavorful, and coated in a delicious red chile sauce that had just the right amount of kick. The fries were perfectly cooked and paired well with the ketchup. My friend shared the appetizer with me and ordered the Chicken Caesar Salad, which she enjoyed alongside one of the wine tasting flights. The real surprise of the evening came after dinner. Our host handed us a card with a password to access the speakeasy downstairs. If you visit Mission Winery, don't skip this part. The speakeasy had a completely different atmosphere from the restaurant above and quickly became the highlight of the night. The space feels intimate, sophisticated, and thoughtfully designed, with dark wood accents, comfortable seating, and a stylish lounge vibe. My friend and I both ordered espresso martinis, and they were fantastic. The presentation alone was impressive--the unique glassware was chilled and helped keep the cocktail cold longer, allowing us to enjoy it at a relaxed pace. Between the excellent food, wine, creative cocktails, and the hidden speakeasy experience, Mission Winery offers much more than just a typical dinner out. The restaurant was great, but the speakeasy downstairs is what will have me coming back. Recommendation: Start with dinner upstairs, then ask about the speakeasy password and finish your evening downstairs with an espresso martini. It's one of the coolest date night or girls' night experiences I've found in Albuquerque.

It's very salty, and (given Albuquerque's incredible farm to table selection) falls short on feeling exceptional. It's processed food that feels like high-end Chili's fare. We had a reservation for 11:30am and arrived on time, but ended up waiting outside for about 10 minutes with no staff in sight. We called multiple times for assistance before anyone came out. To make matters worse, the friend who made the reservation was never informed that brunch is held in the private club and not the e restaurant, which caused unnecessary confusion right from the start. Once a waiter finally found us, we were taken to the private club where we were told they only had three brunch menu items available that day. We ordered immediately, along with waters and mimosas. Keep in mind, there were only two tables total--our group of three and another group of seven--so it wasn't busy. Despite that, service was extremely slow. It took 20 minutes just to get our mimosas, and our waters were forgotten and didn't come out until another 10 minutes later. Our food took about 40 minutes, which felt excessive given how few people were there. Even more frustrating, my friends' meals came out about 10 minutes before mine. There's really no reason meals at the same table shouldn't be served together. The food itself was just okay. The only standout was the French toast, which was actually really good--and honestly the only reason this review isn't one star. I also ordered coffee and was told they don't carry creamer, which is surprising for a place offering brunch. Our waitress rarely checked on us throughout the meal, which added to the overall lack of service. Between the confusion, long wait times, and lack of attention, this experience didn't meet expectations. I won't be returning.

Our reservation was on time and people were quite attentive, assuring us it would be (we got there early). The ambiance was relaxed and quiet, but it got noisier as the night crowd joined. Service was attentive and also slow at times. I am unsure if the slow service was as we were enjoying our company or if this is the norm. As friendly as the service was, there were some significant mistakes. One order was not put with the others, delaying the dish even more. Having a party of six, I would expect the server to ask how to split the check before giving it. That delayed things even more at the end. To correct this mistake, he offered a drink on the house. And the last one, they charged me for drinks we didn't drink. We found this after we left. In terms of drinks, they were fantastic and long-named! My bartender's choice was absolutely in point. Even though the dishes came late, we were excited when they arrived. Visually, they were pretty. I can only describe our dishes and not that of our friends, as we didn't try them. For appetizers, we got the crudo. This was quite refreshing and bright ahi tuna with lots of citrus helped by pieces of creamy avocado. The hubs got the steak frites. Visually appealing, but the flavors did not match my eyes. The meat was cooked perfectly but was missing flavor and seasoning. The fries were also bland. I got the seared duck breast. This dish was visually stunning. However, it also did not meet the expectations set by the visuals. The vegetables and balsamic sauce were the heroes, while the duck breast was small and a third was just fat. Considering the prices of this place, we expected the visuals to match the flavors, but they were unfortunately not the same.
