We came to Ruth's Chris Steak House to celebrate our 5-year wedding anniversary, and honestly, I have mixed feelings. Let me start with the positives--our server was great. Attentive, professional, and did their job really well. The food? Even better. Everything came out cooked perfectly and tasted exactly like you'd expect from a high-end steakhouse. But here's where it went downhill. We made this reservation weeks in advance specifically for our anniversary, and it felt like none of that mattered. We were seated right in the middle of the restaurant, not exactly the vibe you want for a special occasion. On top of that, the table was set for four people, not two--which already made it feel impersonal. We even mentioned it to the hostess, and instead of fixing it or acknowledging it properly, she kind of brushed it off and started putting rose petals on the table while we were literally sitting down. That just made it worse. Like... wasn't that supposed to be done beforehand? It felt last-minute and forced, not thoughtful. For a place at this price point, you expect a little more attention to detail--especially when you've planned ahead for something important. Went here for a work function and it was fantastic . There was 9 of us and Alexander took really good care of us. He was very attentive and answered all of our questions. We also had the stuffed mushroom and dip. Every person said their steaks were cooked perfectly and we all LOVED the lobster Mac n cheese. I'm not a big fan of Franchise Restaurants but for what is worth, Ruth's Christie's absolutely amazing success in the long run of survival in the narrow market of high end steak and lobster eateries paired with exceptional offerings of Napa Wines in the likes of Mastro's and Fleming's of the USA shows me that it's still the best option when traveling to the unknown city for the gastronomy critics. My wife grew up in the restaurant industry and shared her experiences with me in this regard and opined that for the typical restaurant chains of the exceptional food and service to survive the most cutthroat high end steak houses, which there are many and are mostly serving the very few regulars, the restaurant must offer something so unique and consistency! For example I noticed that the experience of the quality service staff from the elegant Maĩtre d : the master of the front standing guard of the old traditional butler with exceptional attire and aged attitude, the pretty greeter, the tall and slim water waiters and beautiful waitresses are all part of excellence in dining experiences part of the success formula. Then the choice cuts of beef and shrimp are must. The filet must be firm outside and extra soft inside with perfectly seared shrimp on top and served with sizzling butter sauce browned with caramelized onions and garlic butter you will never see them or feel them as you start cutting into the 6 oz. meat. The César salad must have raw egg and anchovies with absolutely beautiful thinly shredded Parmigiano-Reggiano that brings consistent flavor with each bite. I love traditional constellations of fine dining that never get old as I get older. I love the professionalism in every aspect that comes with aged perfection like this restaurant standing guard against the times of change and chaos! Amazing Friday night at Ruth's Chris in Albuquerque, New Mexico! We made an impromptu reservation for dining in the bar area. We were promptly greeted and seated at one of the best tables in the restaurant! We were Swifty greeted by our server and drink orders were taken on the spot. Started off our evening with shrimp cocktail appetizer which was an absolute treat! For huge shrimp with the very best cocktail sauce around! For our mains, we had fillet, shrimp, french fries, and brussels sprouts. Every single part of our meal was delicious! Finish things off with the new chocolate, molten lava cake and two ice cold glasses of milk! The restaurant manager, Logan, made rounds and greeted us very warmly and was super attentive! I drink a ton of water and he really filled my glass all night, without asking and without it being empty... He always kept me full! We have had many subpar experiences in this area however, tonight with Ruth Chris Steakhouse was a complete delight and a treat! I've eaten at many steakhouses across the country and this is my first time at a Ruth Chris Steakhouse. we were passing through and did not have a reservation, but was quickly greeted by staff and seated. Our server was Santiago, what a great young man. Very good at what he does. Accommodating, prompt, polite, made our anniversary wonderful, what else can you ask for. If there were more stars that could be given he would get double. Anyway, I ordered the fillet and shrimp and it was absolutely scrumptious. I consider myself a crème brûlée expert. And I'm not kidding you. This is it. If you just stop by to have the crème brûlée as a dessert, you would be blissfully delighted. kudos to the whole staff for a job. Well done! We hade reservations for 8pm. We arrived early and had to wait till 8:30 for a table. The door was extremely backed up. One of the most annoying things was hearing the manager (older larger guy working front door who was in charge ) blame open table for the reason the door was backed up. Repeatedly saying people booking on open table at 2 in the afternoon are the issue because app does not look at how many are available. I asked for standard dining room and ended up in the Bar area by the door. The server we were assigned to was amazing. He did a great job! And the Bar manager (who was told to leave early by the manager at the door) approached us sorry about the door issue. The food was disappointing. I ordered the fillet and lobster tail. The lobster tail was extremely overcooked and like chewing on an old piece of meat. The fillet was obviously seared at too low of a temperature for too long giving the meat a gray look on that side and you could taste it. My guest order the fillet as well and it was the same with the sear. Both cooks just a touch over ordered. One was ordered rare and the other was ordered medium. We also had crab cakes, they were extremely dry. The salad and soup were good though and the bar drinks were great I have eaten here before and it been a great experience. I decided to try Ruth Chris for my birthday. It had been many years since I have been to Ruth Chris and forgot what the experience was like to be honest. So I decided to give it another shot to see if we can add it to our regular weekend routine. First of all they set up such a beautiful birthday setup on the table and they sang happy birthday for me which was really nice! I had the ribeye steak which, for a non wagyu steak was pretty good! It had flavor, was tender and some parts of it had a melt in your mouth experience. Compared to other non wagyu steaks I give this a 10/10. The cheesecake I had... oh my god!!! This was a free dessert for my birthday but it was I kid you not, maybe the best cheesecake I've had my entire life! The Mac and cheese came cold the first time around, the lobster was also a little raw in the middle, they sent it back and had it re made. What they ended up bringing back was a lobster Mac and cheese! I ended up getting more lobster back than what I sent back and the new dish was nice and hot. The Brussels sprouts were not too hot either and didn't have that least crunch I was hoping for but they were still pretty good, especially when I reheated them later at home. I just didn't wanna constantly complain so I didn't mention that. I raved about the cheesecake to the manager and him being such a nice guy brought us two free ones at the end. What a kind gesture! I was so excited it really made my day! Again, the kitchen messed something up because when we opened it up, it was a different cheesecake, this new one was chocolate , of which I'm not a big fan . The wait staff service was excellent, the manager was awesome, so was our server. The kitchen staff definitely had a few kinks they needed to work out. The ambiance was really classy, like a big city fancy restaurant should look, and the service was on par with what you would expect in q big city too. I have been visiting Ruth's Chris once or twice a year since 2016 when it opened. We always go for Anniversaries and Birthdays. Unfortunately the last 5 visits were less then memorable. They didn't follow our confirmed reservation request on multiple visits to be seated upstairs. On once visit they actually put us in a little room downstairs a little bigger then a closet, great ambiance! My T-bone was so full of grizzle it was literally disgusting an UN-edible, took 20 minutes just to get the attention for someone to send it back, took almost and additional 20 minutes to get a replacement. By then the rest of the people in our party had finished their meal. They were trying to wait for my replacement steak, the situation was so uncomfortable and totally ruined the occasion. Their prices keep going up and up and the size of their sides that use to be large enough for 2 people and just barely sufficient for one. I always ask for specific brands for my alcohol purchases. It is now not uncommon that you don't get what your order. Service, its bad when you have to ask 3 times for more bread and butter, this might have been a result of being put in a closet for dinner. We and 3 other couples have done Thanksgiving religiously for the last 6 years. After the 2025 experience (more like a disaster which I won't go into). We won't be back. First we lost the Rancher Club Steakhouse in Abq now Ruth Chris has gone off the rails. So sad, perhaps this is just a New Mexico thing. It's sad, my go to high end restaurant now has excessively high Prices, poor quality Steaks, reduced quantity sides and other issues. No more. Other Ruth Chris location may not have issues, I don't know but the Albuquerque location is a no fly zone. I now have a bad taste in my mouth and have no wish to go back. The founder of Ruth Chris, Ruth Fertel would be absolutely astonished and probably pissed about the performance of her premier Steak House ABQ location. read more

So I know I posted in my last review, that I probably wouldn't be back to this restaurant but here we are again (lol) and I'm so glad we did. We went on a Friday night, and the place was packed. Our server was super friendly and personable. My husband and I decided to share everything. We started with drinks -- an old-fashioned and a pomegranate cocktail. Both were delicious, and my husband said it was the best old-fashioned he's ever had! For dinner, I ordered the house steak salad without onions and with the dressing on the side. Unfortunately, it came with both, and the balsamic vinaigrette was really thick and heavy. There was so much dressing that I couldn't really enjoy the salad, so I skipped it. I did not tell the server because she was really busy and I didn't want to make a big deal of it. We also ordered the T-bone steak (medium) and garlic mashed potatoes. The steak was perfectly cooked and absolutely melt-in-your-mouth amazing. The mashed potatoes were good too. Came with mí familia to celebrate a birthday. Nice touch when we sat down the Maitre Di sprinkled birthday glitter on the table and placed a Happy Birthday card. Had a Vesper Martini while others enjoyed the Sauvignon Blanc wine. Calamari was the appetizer of choice and it was delicious. Some had the House Salad and the Lobster Bisque, both excellent choices. Two went with the Ruth's Classic Filet and Lobster Tail, creamed spinach and garlic mashed potatoes. One went with a Lobster Tail and Oscar Medley consisting of a Crab Cake with Bernaise sauce over asparagus. I went with the 11 ounce Filet and Scalloped Potatoes. Bam all our dishes were cooked as requested and were excellent. We closed out with the Cheesecake desserts and they too finished the meal well. We came to a seminar here and the food and service were fabulous. We were led upstairs to the banquet room and were given choices of sodas or tea (which were included). Appetizers (ahi tuna and crab stuffed mushrooms) were served family style, as well as the sides of broccoli and the garlic mashed potatoes. I got the filet and shrimp medium well. The plate was hot and buttery and the steak was the perfect flavor and easy to cut. Dessert was the chocolate sin cake, which was more like a mousse. For a weekday night, it wasn't terribly crowded. We went in for their Happy Hour. My partner and I are both retired. I am 71 and he's 67... We both think we're still pretty youthful. Right in the door, there was a young girl as hostess. I mean, I would guess her to be an early 20s dark hair... Lots of attitude. NOT a good beginning for this visit. We ended up at the bar, and I was quite annoyed. I decided I was not gonna let this little pipsqueak whippersnapper ruin our happy hour. Did my little self-talk to talk myself down and we proceeded. FOOD: Cocktails were excellent, loved the shrimp dish. The steak sandwich not so much. Much too much bread for the 4oz of steak. The steak itself was good, cooked, medium rare as we ordered, but by the time it got to us, it was cold. We waited a bit for it after our shrimp app and I think it might've been sitting somewhere cooling down before it arrived... But that's just a guess. AMBIENCE: is decent... what you'd expect from a fine dining establishment. We were very comfortable at the bar... though dining at the bar is not something we frequently do. The mashed potatoes were marginal and room temperature. And they were out of the beer I wanted. I guess they have so many now that there is going to be an awful one somewhere. This was our 1st visit to this particular Ruth's Chris location, but I'm pleased to report that the quality of their food and service is consistent with my previous experience with these restaurants - this location did NOT disappoint! For our entrees, we opted for the stuffed chicken and the bone-in ribeye. The steak was beautifully marbled, seasoned to perfection, and prepared medium-rare (exactly as requested). The chicken was wonderfully flavorful - like a little bit of Heaven in my mouth :-) Even though the were obviously training new staff that evening, service was totally on-point. Our glasses never even approached empty, and the pacing of the meal was exactly what it should have been. To sum it up, the food was delicious, the service was wonderful, and the ambiance was a great combination of welcoming and fancy. We called for a reservation 30 minutes before we wanted to arrive and they had a seat available in perfect time. The food was on point - very good and exactly as expected. We came here for thanksgiving because it's just the two of us and we weren't going to go see family this time. The food was very good. The wait was long for the main meal, but the server kept us updated so we weren't upset. I enjoyed the generous amount of lobster tail and the filet was a perfect size since I ordered the course meal. Very high-end, sophisticated interior. Celebratory occasional meal it is. :) They also sent us home with two to go box worth of thanksgiving meal, on top of what we ate. My wife and I had our 7th anniversary dinner at Ruth Chris in Troy, Mi. It was not our first time there. Our server, Jenna was wonderful. She has a pleasant personality, and made sure we were comfortable, and had everything we needed to make sure we had an awesome dining experience. I had steak, and my wife had the Salmon. A go to for steak and the lobster mac! On this occasion, I tried the lamb chops and was impressed. Some favorite items are the spicy shrimp, seafood tower, the fixed menu is super easy and is the perfect amount of food especially for first timers. The ribeye is a favorite but you can't go wrong with the filet and wine combo. The beef carpaccio was the star of the show and the grilled bread was undeniably delicious. The point here...take a group of people and order lots!!!! Share it all and be merry. Be prepared to spread if that's your style. Granted, this review is based on a to-go order, but these issues are purely food-based and not ambience or service. I ordered a steak sandwich, to be served with fresh made chips. I would not have been upset if it were just that the bread was a little soggy (it's, to-go.) But the bread also was stale or chewy. So I just decided to add the steak slices to my salad. I ordered it medium rare - got it medium. Again, it's tenderloin so it should still be tender. Except it wasn't. And most of it was fatty end pieces of some kind of steak. So chewy, tough, over cooked meat. And no chips. Soggy fries. And I ordered the chopped salad. Lettuce was oxidized. I tried to pick around it. Basically, I spent $34 to fill up my trash bin. We recently went to our local Ruth's Chris to celebrate my father in law's retirement. We've been to another Ruth's Chris out of state and there are some minor differences, both good and bad. First off, the ambiance and vibe of the restaurants were both the same. Quiet, higher end, classy, the whole nine yards. Our server was great and friendly as they all are. He had a few helpers to clean up after us and such but I will say they asked if we wanted more bread and we said yes and they never came back. I couldn't picture anyone's dinner but mine and the lobster Mac that someone shared with me. The lobster Mac is delicious! They just ordered it as the side and the side portion is as big as a meal! So worth it. I had the petite filet and shrimp; shrimp was good flavor but steak was mediocre. It was cooked more than medium. My choice of side was mashed potatoes; great portion size like too big, flavor was good, but it was cold in temp. Cheesecake was great and a good portion after a big meal. Good texture, flavor, and texture. If I could give it a 3.5 I would. But a 4 because everyone did enjoy their portion of the meal also. But again...mediocre at its best at this location. read more

Every time we've gone, service has been great and efficient, the ambience is fun and fancy, and the food is so good. I cannot say enough good things about our recent experience! For starters, we arrived early and ordered cocktails at the bar before being seated for our meal. The bartender was very friendly and fast. Shortly after, the manager Robert came over to introduce himself and let us know that if there was anything we needed to let him know. Upon being seated to our table, our server Don came over and was very friendly as well. When it came to ordering, he gave some suggestions that were spot on. He also came to our table regularly to make sure everything was well. The steak I ordered was FANTASTIC! The filet was seasoned wonderfully and cooked exactly the way I like it. During the meal, the upstairs manager (I think the name was Aleah, I might be wrong, but he sang Happy Birthday to another table in another langauge), also made sure everything was to our liking. Having a great 29th wedding Anniversary dinner with my hubby. We started with the lobster bisque and chopped salad. The bisque was good but had a bit too much sherry for me. The chopped salad was delicious. I loved the dressing and onions on top. Next we had the 6oz filet and lobster for my hubby and the garlic Parmesan sea bass for me. We also had creamed spinach and garlic mashed potatoes. Everything was delicious. I know when we get a steak here, you can cut it with the side of a fork. So tender, juicy and flavorful!! Happy hour is the way to go...the shrimp is . It's also way more affordable than dinner options, but, they do make a mean steak!

We went for happy hour tonight, and I can only say "wow"! We had a tremendous experience: excellent drinks, delicious appetizers and perfect service. The bar is beautiful with nice lighting, and it pays homage to ABQ's ballooning scene. Happy hour is 4-6 pm in ABQ, and quite a few apps are half price (see red prices on menu). Drinks are also a good value. We shared three apps: zucchini fries, seared ahi, and spicy shrimp. All were incredible, and Ruth's brings tasty warm bread and butter to start the feast! We also shared two steak sandwiches: sliced filet, cooked to order, draped with a rich bernaise sauce and accompanied by lettuce, tomato and red onion. The bread is to die for by itself, but the steak pieces melt in your mouth. The generous serving of fries are also tasty, but the steak steals the show. I dream about this sandwich! Besides the goodies, we enjoyed a pomegranate martini, a nice pour of Cabernet, and an Ultra. Highly recommend Ruth's Chris, but their happy hour is over the top value! read more
